Olatomide Ojajune is an Advocate for climate action through education and environmental sustainability. She is committed to strengthen the resilience of people and creating sustainable environment for future generation.

As the founder of "TalkClimateAfrica", an educational channel that reaches out to people who prefer listening to music and spoken words, creating awareness and sensitizing people on the environment, climate change and how best it can be mitigated and adapted.

She has been recognized as a Pacesetter in Climate Change advocacy and have recieved many certification after carrying out several projects. Over the past 4 years, I have actively been involved in Climate Change Education, reaching out to different audiences through School Outreach, environmental awareness campaigns and podcast channels.

WAMASON LC MCM:

Dr. Tunde Ajayi is as renowned medical Practitioner and Global Health Consultant, with several years post qualification experience in Global Health, Disaster Epidemiology and Environmental Health. He is the General Manager of the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency.

Ajayi, a vibrant and seasoned Administrator was the former Special Assistant to the Lagos State Commissioner for Health and has offered technical support to the Ministry, that led to several projects and initiatives which improved health outcomes in Lagos state during this period.

He is result-oriented and known for adding value to systems and organizations with the vision of making a revolutionary global impact.

The Global Environment Facility Small Grants Programme (GEF SGP), implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), supports CSOs and communities to implement environmental initiatives in over 125 countries including Nigeria. Temilade Salami is a Climate Communications and Education Professional, Author, and Marine Biologist with over five years experience, leading on various youth-led environmental sustainability initiatives across Africa.

Temilade is the Founder/Executive Director of "EcoChampions", one of Nigeria's largest networks of professional Environmentalists, leading environmental change through tree planting, ocean conservation advocacy, plastic waste management and environmental education in Nigeria.

Her contributions to environmental policies and practice have been deservingly recognized, having been named as a 2020 Nigeria's 25; Under 25 Leader on Energy and Sustainability, 2018 LASEPA Ambassador against Noise Pollution, and to mention a few.

She authored two environmental books for kids and works extensively on Climate Education for sustainable development.

Babajide Milton Macaulay, Ph.D. is the Founder, iLLUMANIA and the Co-founder/CEO of Wadi. He is an Educational Consultant, Career Coach, Environmental Sustainability Expert, and Bioenergy Advocate.

He is a purpose-driven Environmental Scientist with over 11 years of teaching and research experience. He has lead projects in Environmental Mitigation research areas such as groundwater arsenic contamination studies, bioremediation of crude oil spills, medical waste management, microplastic exposure to humans and biogas generation from organic waste to promote a sustainable bio/circular Economy in Africa.

He is a Lecturer in the Environmental Biology and Public Health unit of the Department of Biology at the Federal University of Technology Akure, Nigeria.

FLASH POINT FOR THE WEEK ♻️: Breaking

Lagos Shuts Ladipo Market Over Environmental Offences

The Lagos State Ministry of Environment and Water Resources has sealed the Ladipo market in the Mushin area of Lagos state.

According to the Commissioner, Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, the market was "sealed for several environmental offences, including reckless waste disposal, unhygienic premises, and non-payment of waste bills, among others."

He added that the market would remain closed until the mandatory conditions of redress were met by traders and market stakeholders, adding that it was part of ongoing efforts at instilling compliance in markets around the state.

The Managing Director of Lagos Waste Management Authority, Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin, said that the closure was expected to allow for a thorough assessment of the environmental impact of the market’s activities and the implementation of necessary remedial measures.

Other markets already sealed under the current campaign of zero-tolerance for environmental infractions include Oyingbo, Alayabiagba, Oke-odo and several plazas around the Tejuosho market.
