‘We need a visionary Chief of Staff’ — group asks Governor Bala Mohammed to Appoint Maigeri Khanna as new Chief of Staff'-By Admin.

A group known as the Bauchi Rescue Group (BRG) has asked the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, to appoint a renowned and veteran journalist Alhaji Maigeri Khanna as a new Chief of Staff following the dissolution of the state cabinet.

In a statement issued to journalists in Bauchi State on Thursday, June 10th 2021, Citizen John Akevi, Director-General and Salisu J. Sambo Secretary General of the group, said Bauchi State needs a Chief of Staff who “will lead the birth of a new Bauchi”.

Alhaji Maigeri Khanna is the most favorable for the office of the Chief of Staff based on his track records of achievements.

"As a group of like-minded, we are appealing to Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed to appoint Alhaji Maigeri Khanna a renowned and veteran Journalist as well as illustrious son of Shira local government area of Bauchi State worthy of being appointed to this exalted position of Chief of Staff.


The Group noted that the Governor should opted for Alhaji Maigeri Khanna because of his diligence, integrity and reputation as a veteran journalist, incorruptibility and unblemished character over the years.

According to the group his calm, civil approach to political issues seems to be in contrast with the do-or-die mentality of our political jobbers but in sync with democratic ideals as espoused in advanced Western Democracies which put the state first above personal or sectional interest. No doubt, this may be the result of his background, exposure, political philosophy or patriotic zeal.

The group said, "a peep into Alhaji Maigeri Khanna background indicates that he had a very humble beginning in his life. He is an inspirational story of a man with lowly background who overcame debilitating family circumstances and socio-cultural limitations to achieve success. He is a man imbued with great intelligence; cognitive, emotional and social. He is a man of many parts. He is many things rolled into one – a distinguished public servant and journalists, a career politician, an astute professional and a great philanthropist.

Alhaji Maigeri Khanna’s life is a success story: whether in public service, politics or in journalism, he has always stood out from the crowd. In his decisions, he is always calm, articulate, focused, purposeful and forward-looking.

Mr Akevi, also noted that the appointment couldn’t have come at a better time than now in view of the fact that the Bauchi State needs Chief of Staff who is well grounded in diplomacy, politics, journalism, economics and corruption-free to provide the needed link and resources that can galvanise edge-way for the state at this time.

The Group prayed to the Almighty Allah to give His Excellency, Governor Bala Mohammed the wisdom and good health to discharge his duty efficiently, diligently and contentiously for the benefit of the state.

State Assembly Representing Pali Hon. Yusuf Muhammad Bako and Hon. Umar Yakubu Udubo has announced their resignation from the APC. Which party brought them to Parliament.

The Director General Bauchi State Sustainable Dévelopement Goals (SDGs) Dr. Esther Ahmed has expressed her warm felicitations to the good people of Bauchi State on the occasion of the 2021 New Year celebration, urging them to remain steadfast with renewed vigor, patriotism and hardwork as better prospects awaits the people in 2021.

According Dr. Esther Ahmed we invoke the blessings of the Almighty God on all our people, that harmony will prevail in our state and that the apostles of violence and division will be shamed.

Dr. Ahmed gave her New Year message on behalf of her family, friends and associates. She said despite challenges of the noveu covid -19 pandemic with its negative effects and insecurity in the country, Bauchi State is poised for greatness.

She admonished the people of Bauchi State to adhere strictly to the covid -19 protocols and guidelines as stipulated by relevant authorities, during and after the Yuletide especially with the second wave of the outbreak of the disease.

Dr. Ahmed also describes Bauchi people as patriots and hard-working and therefore, calls on the people to remain focus and keep firm belief under the Supreme Authority of God Almighty. She also urge the people to support Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammed to take Bauchi state to the promise land.

Bayelsa : Apologise To CJN,PDP Kaura Media Support Group Tells Oshiomhole

The Kaura Media Support Group (KMSG) has asked the
National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole,
to tender an unreserved apology to the Chief Justice of Nigeria, the Supreme Court and PDP over its behaviour on the outcome of the Bayelsa State governorship election petition.

The pro Kaura group said allegations raised against the Jurists by Adams Oshiomhole against the judgement of the Supreme Court declaring Mr. Duoye Diri of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the duly elected governor of the Bayelsa state, were puerile and childish.

Director and Secretary of the group, Citizen John Akevi and Secretary, Salisu J. Sambo described the APC Chairman statement as an insult to Nigeria’s judiciary and showed the contempt APC has for the nation’s institutions.

KMSG noted that APC leader Adams Oshomole acted like entitled spoilt brats who did not know how to react to losing, saying “APC is led by cry-babies, spoilt with unpunished bad behaviour, hence his irresponsible and ridiculous statement against the Supreme Court.

Whenever the party is awarded a victory by this same Supreme Court, APC praises the Judiciary but whenever the same court delivers a judgment that does not favour the ruling party, these people wail like spoilt brats.
“Only a few weeks ago, the same Supreme Court ruled against the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP ) and favoured APC on Imo State. The Apex Court was lauded and hailed by the APC. Similarly, in the judgments of the court in the most recent election petition matters, the Supreme Court decided in favour of APC in Kano, Kaduna, Plateau and Kogi States. To APC, this is justice because it favoured them. That is the height of irresponsibility.

“To these spoilt brats, whenever the Supreme Court does not go its way, the court has no integrity, but when it does, it is indeed a court of justice".

KMSG expressed hope that APC leader should act like responsible politician and stop over-reacting when court rulings do not go their party’s way.

The group however, congratulates the newly sworn in governor of Bayelsa state Mr. Duoye Diri of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and his Deputy as well as Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed who was the Chairman, Bayelsa Campaign Council in the recently concluded governorship election in the state.

Bauchi State At 44: Retrospection With A Glimmer Of Hope

It was a dream come true; the end of an era and yet the beginning of another. It was the expected end to the marginalization of a people, the deserved climax to the drama of relegation to the background in which the good people of Bauchi State had played prominent roles.
It was February 3rd, 1976, the day the creation of a new state to be called Bauchi State of Nigeria was announced by the then military Head of State, General Murtala Mohammed led military junta. The tangible reason advanced for creating states as a component units of Nigeria federation was to bring government nearer to the people and invariably stimulate the grass root development.

That announcement brought mirth to the lips of Bauchi sons and daughters; they were gleeful and delirious because they had been given a platform to collectively achieve their aspirations and the dreams of their fathers before them. It was a creation that would bring about rapid development and changes in the lives of the people, a golden platform for change. The state was called the Pearl of Tourism.

However, the year 1996 witnessed the emergence of a new state following the creation of Gombe state which was carved out of the old Bauchi state. It was also anticipated by the good people of Bauchi state that the departure of our compatriots in Gombe state would open a floodgate of development as the resources accrueable to the state would be sufficient to initiate and accelerate grassroot developments.

This was far from reality as our people dangle in a cyclical illusion from 1996 to 1998.

The global democratic trend also gave Nigeria another leverage to reorganize herself. The year 1999 marked a watershed in our Nation’s democratic process. This also saw the emergence of Dr. Ahmed Adamu Mu'azu as the executive governor of Bauchi state.

Expectations were high. The chief driver of Bauchi state democratic voyage (Mu'azu) mustard the relevant political muscle amidst every odds in a bid to match expectations with reality. He was committed to liberate the people from the clutches of poverty and was able to contain the reconciliation let loose by the departed military hegemony. Mu'azu’s political leadership in Bauchi state suddenly went adrift as the state’s economic structure for the rising expectations proved woefully inadequate and tragically fragile. Consequently, demagogue was substituted for development and eccentricity for leadership. Whether Mu'azu’s regime was a success or failure is a matter of political semantics.

To me, writing the history of Bauchi State without some significant impact of Dr. Ahmed Adamu Mu'azu will amount to a tragic monotony of meaninglessness as he will remain a vibrant basis in the Bauchi state political trajectory. The foundation of a greater Bauchi state of our dream has been laid but the big lesson our political leaders in Bauchi state must learn from Mu'azu’s political travail is that “the nature and style of political leadership are very much a derivative of the political edifice itself".

Another vistas of hope occasioned by endless expectations among our people began to rise when, in 2007, Mal. Isa Yuguda was elected as the executive governor of Bauchi state. During his electioneering campaign, he promised to champion the course of democratic humanism characterised by social harmony that can provide a favourable condition for the attainment of net welfare maximization for all.
