November Day 23
THE SPEAKING GIFTS
Scripture: Acts 21: 1-14
Meditation: “And the same man had four daughters, virgins which did prophesy. And as we tarried there many days there came down from Judea a certain prophet, named Agabus.”–Acts 21: 9,10.
The gifts of the Spirit described in I Corinthians 12:4-5, can be categorized into three groups, namely: Speaking Gifts, Revelation Gifts and Power Gifts. The speaking gifts consist of Prophecy, Divers Kinds of Tongues and the Interpretation of Tongues.
First let’s talk about prophecy. The simple gift of prophecy is speaking “…unto men to edification, exhortation and comfort”- I Corinthians 14:3. These words come to us by inspiration of the Spirit of God, and they build people up, encouraging them or fire them up, and they bring comfort also. Prophecy does not contain the element of prediction in it. It is forth-telling rather than foretelling. That is why, though the daughters of Philip could prophecy, they could not predict what would happen to Paul in Jerusalem until Agabus arrived. Agabus did not just prophecy, he was a prophet.
Many get deceived when they overstretch the simple gift of prophecy to try to predict the future.
Diverse kinds of tongues is when God speaks to men through another man in an unknown language. It usually requires interpretation for what is spoken to be understood. When there is a message given in tongues, and there is an interpretation, the impact is equal to prophecy. The entire manifestation is also for edification, exhortation and comfort.
“Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret”I Cor. 14:13. You see, the vocal gift is an area in which God has thrown open to every believer that means anybody that prays in tongue can equally ask God for interpretation; it’s open to all. However, to get Interpretation to Tongues you must move in the wings of Faith. You prophesy according to the measure of Faith you interpret tongues according to the measure of faith. You have to believe that God already ask you to demand interpretation and so He is willing to give the interpretation to your tongues or tongues from other believers.
Refuse to move in doubt and hesitancy; rather remain bold about the things of the Spirit today. The Holy Spirit is willing to take you higher and He shall take you deeper in Jesus Name (Amen).
CONFESSION
I move in the wings of faith. I am bold about the things of the Spirit. The Holy Spirit takes me higher. I believe all of God’s promises concerning the Speaking Gifts. Thank you Lord Jesus for the Holy Spirit operation in my Life – Hallelujah.

November Day 22
THE GIVER OF GIFTS
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 12: 1-13
Meditation: “But all these worketh that one and the self same Spirit, dividing to every man severally as He wills.”– I Corinthians 12:11.
The first time I heard about the gifts of the Holy Spirit, I was thrilled. I was so excited that I wanted them in my life immediately. I began to pray for the gifts. My attention was on having the gifts. Nothing is wrong with doing this, though it is much better to befriend the giver of the gifts Himself, the Holy Spirit.
I realized later that all the gifts are of the Holy Spirit, and that He reserves the right to give gifts to whoever pleases Him.
It is interesting to see people come into operating in gifts they did not even look for. When you befriend the Holy Spirit, when you become a man of intimacy, when you do the things that please Him, he has a way of activating His gifts in your life freely by grace.
The Holy Spirit is not just the giver of gifts, He also controls their operations. We cannot turn them on and off at will. We are totally dependent on him, not just to get the gifts, but to continue to operate in them. You can seek Him, wait on Him and release your faith. But it has to be the Holy Spirit causing things to happen through you.
He is Lord and He is God. So, let Him be the Lord in your life. If you insist on doing it by yourself, or faking it, you stand the danger of being deceived by the spirit of error. Intimacy with the person of the Holy Spirit will cause you to flow in supernatural gifts, and to be able to discern the true supernatural operation of God.
As we enter into the tail end of time, the Holy Spirit is ever willing to unleash His fullness on believers, with the sole purpose of strengthening His Church and drawing the world to the Saving Knowledge of Jesus Christ. Therefore, I encourage you to position yourself and move higher with the Holy Spirit today, as He bestows His Gifts on you that will make your life count.
CONFESSION
I Love the Holy Spirit Who is the Giver of all His Gifts. I seek, wait and release my faith for a greater manifestation of His Gifts in my Life. My life counts in the plan of God as I bring many to the saving knowledge of Christ by the Power of the Holy Spirit at work in me. Thank You Lord Jesus – Hallelujah.

November Day 21
SPEAKING WITH TONGUES AND YOUR FAITH
Scripture: Hebrews 11: 1-16
Meditation: “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”Heb 11:6
Our entire Christian walk is built on faith in God, for “...without faith it is impossible to please God.” –Hebrews 11:6. How can you relate with someone who is pleased with you? Faith is the essence of our relationship with God.
By speaking in tongues, we learn to trust God more fully. When you speak in tongues, you are building your faith, that is, you are building up your capacity to cooperate with the invisible realm of God. “But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost.” –Jude 20.
Speaking in tongues stimulates faith and helps us learn how to trust God more. Faith must be exercised to speak in tongues at all times. Whenever you pray in tongues, you do not know what the next word will be; you just have to trust God for that. And trusting God in one area will help you learn to trust Him in other areas.
I read the story of a woman who loved God and served Him, but she was afflicted in her body with stomach ulcer. Doctors feared it would lead to cancer and her husband had spent all they had on the sickness.
But the interesting thing is this; she received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and began to speak with tongues, consequently she received her healing. She was perfectly healed. When she released her faith to receive the Holy Spirit, her faith connected with God more fully for her healing.
Receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit does not heal you; however, speaking with tongues helps you learn how to trust God more fully in other areas of life. It helps you trust God beyond your conscious understanding, and this can result in healing and other miracles.
If you will form the habit of speaking with tongues at least one hour every day, your experience with the written word will move up to a totally new level and your faith will grow exponentially. You will have capacity to boldly step out and act on God’s word all the time and you will see results.
CONFESSION
I am connected to God in every area of my life because I speak in tongues. I trust God beyond my conscious understanding so I see healings, miracles and breakthroughs. Great days of the supernatural are upon me. Thank you dear Holy Spirit of God for your awesome presence in my life. I Love You Lord in Jesus Name (Amen).

November Day 20
TONGUES PLUS!
Scripture: Jude 1: 5-25
Meditation: “But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,” Jude 1:20
There is no experience that can enrich and revolutionize your prayer life like the experience of being filled with the Holy Spirit and speaking with other tongues. We call it praying in the Holy Ghost.
“Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groaning which cannot be uttered.” –Romans 8:26
Speaking in tongues enhances your prayer life. Most times our understanding is limited. Your heart knows what your head does not know. Many times in the Bible, the word heart and the word spirit are used interchangeably. Your spirit has a wealth of knowledge that your head lacks. The Holy Spirit dwells within your spirit and will always reveal certain things you do not know in your head to you through your heart when you pray in tongues.
Praying in tongues provides a way for things to be prayed for, about which no one thinks to pray for, or is even aware of.
In addition, the Holy Spirit also helps us to pray aright, because sometimes, we do know what to pray for, but we do not know how to pray for it. The Bible talks about how some people pray amiss and so never receive answers to their petitions. But when you spend time praying in tongues concerning a request or an issue, you are praying the perfect will of God.
It is amazing how the Holy Spirit can prompt you sometimes to pray to salvage a particular situation you know nothing about because He knows all things. I have been there several times. Indeed praying in tongues gives you an edge or advantage in prayer that others who pray only in a known language do not have. He interrupts your frailty and limitations and paves a way where naturally there couldn’t be a way. Take advantage of this advantage today and enhance your prayer life.
When you pray aright by praying in tongues, all things and situations including those you do not understand begin to work to your advantage(Rom 8:28).
CONFESSION
I experience profound intervention and I see great miracles because the Holy Spirit makes intercession for me. Everything works to my advantage because the Holy Spirit helps me pray right. No more shame, No more pain. I shall continue to bask in the victory of the Cross and the Power of the Holy Spirit at work in me in Jesus Name (Amen).
The Father did not send the Holy Spirit to us as our 'doer', He's our 'Helper'. He (Holy Spirit) doesn't do the speaking in tongues, He helps us to do the speaking.
Stop waiting for the Holy Spirit to do the actual speaking, it's your job. So do it!

November Day 19
PROMISE FULFILLED
Scripture: Acts 2: 14-36
Meditation: “…but wait for the promise of the Father, which saith He, ye have heard of me…ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance…. For the promise is unto you and to your children and to all that are afar off even as many as the Lord our God shall call.”–Acts 1: 4, 5 & 2:4, 9.
Jesus promised His disciples that they shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days after His ascension. In Acts chapter 2 verse 1, the Holy Spirit came down on the day of Pentecost, baptizing every one of the 120 people present. Jesus’ promise has always been for all and it is still for all.
When they received the Holy Spirit, they all spoke with tongues. None of them was left out. The idea that speaking in tongues or the fullness of the Spirit is for a select few is not supported by any scriptural evidence. Every Christian is entitled to deeper encounters with God.
You may say; “How shall I speak with tongues?” the answer is in Acts 2;4 “…All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.”–Acts 2:4 NIV.
The Holy Spirit does not speak in tongues for you. He only empowers or enables you to speak with tongues. You receive Him by faith just like you received Jesus by faith. But the moment He comes in, you become able to speak out in a language you have never learnt. You can use this ability by the choice of your will.
“…I will pray with the Spirit (i.e. in tongues), and I will pray with the understanding also….”I Corinthians 14:15.
The promise of this experience is for all, till the end of time. It is as much for the Baptist as it is for the Catholic. It is as much for the Evangelical as it is for the Pentecostal. It is as much for the Methodist as it is for the Anglican. You can belong to any church and still not be born again; but the moment you give your life to Christ and receive true salvation, the Holy Spirit experience is for you. And the Spirit language is for all believers: “And these signs shall follow them that believe: in my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues.” –Mark 16:17.
CONFESSION
Thank you dear Spirit of God for empowering me to speak in tongues. I am a believer; therefore I see and experience the manifest presence of the Holy Spirit. Demons and devils flee at my command. The works of darkness has been incapacitated in my environment and everywhere I go because of the Power of the Holy Spirit in me – Hallelujah.
God did not put miracle in the church for the church. It's for the world to see & be attracted. Once you get attracted into the church by miracle, you are supposed to live supernaturally.
Supernatural life is superior to miracle!
Miracle is God's bailout system while supernatural life is a function of the dominion mandate.
It's true that miracle is the children's bread, but don't stop there. Grow beyond falling sick and receiving healing to a level where you tap into Zoe and live supernaturally.
A level of "Nothing missing, Nothing broken".
God wants you there!
~Apostle Victor Atokolo
Eph 6:13 If you have done all you know to do as a Christian, and it seems there's nothing you have not done; Stand!
~Apostle Victor Atokolo
Satan's attacks are just an experiment, he is not sure who's going to give up their miracle. Don't give it up!
~Apostle Victor Atokolo
Satan knows how close you are to your miracle. He also knows that he can't convince God not to bless you, that's why he's trying to convince you to give it up.
Satan doesn't have enough resources to lavish. So if he is sure that you won't give up, he will give up.

November Day 18
SPIRIT BAPTIZED II
Scripture: Acts 2: 25-39
Meditation: “But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life…. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living waters.” –John 4:14; 7:38.
It is easy to see from the analogy of the well and river that Jesus was talking about two similar but different experiences. Both a well and a river contain water; but one is stagnant and small, while the other is big and flowing.
Water is a typology of the Holy Spirit in the scriptures. When you receive Jesus as Lord and Saviour, His Spirit comes into you, giving you life. This new life is called eternal life in John 3:6 and 4:14. But as we know, the water in a well can serve only a household, so, salvation can remain a very personal experience benefiting you alone.
When one is baptized in the Holy Spirit and begins to speak with other tongues, it is an indication that this same well of the Spirit in such person has broken out into a mighty river that can flow out to bless others. It is the same Holy Spirit that came into you at salvation, that envelope you and begins to flow out of you like a river at the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
You cannot convince a truly born-again child of God that he does not have the Holy Spirit because he does. But that does not mean he should stop growing in his experience of the Spirit of God at that level. I therefore encourage you today to move further in God to where His rivers of living water flows out of you to bless your world.
CONFESSION
I walk in the fullness of the Holy Spirit because out of my belly flows rivers of living water. I move further in my fellowship with the Holy Spirit today. I see rivers of living water flowing out of me to bless my family, my business, my carrier, my church and my world. I am a blessing by the Power of the Holy Spirit in Jesus Name (Amen).
Please be there!
1Cor 1:24 Jesus is the power & wisdom of God. God's power comes through Spirit-encounters, while His wisdom comes through word-encounters.

November Day 17
SPIRIT BAPTIZED
Scripture: Acts 1: 1-14
Meditation: “For John truly baptized with water: but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.” - Acts 1:5
Jesus promised His disciples and consequently all New Testament Christians a baptism in the Holy Spirit different from the baptism of water.
The word Baptism means to dip into or to envelop. When one is baptized in water, his physical body is dipped into water, completely submerged. It is the same when you are baptized in the Holy Spirit of God and by the Holy Spirit; that is why when you begin to speak with other tongues after the infilling of the Holy Spirit, it is your spirit, by the Holy Spirit within you that is speaking, because your own spirit is completely submerged in the Holy Spirit.
“For if I pray in an [unknown] tongue, my spirit [by the Holy Spirit within me] prays….”I Cor. 14:14 Amp.
“But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.” I Cor. 6:17
The Holy Spirit is the power of God. A baptism into Him is therefore a baptism into power. You cannot have the Holy Spirit and still be begging for power because when you have Him, you have the power.
Let me point out here however that the first objective of the baptism is to draw us into deeper fellowship with God. It is those that respond to His drive for fellowship that really get to enjoy the fullness of His manifest power.
When Jesus got baptized in water in Matthew 3 and Luke 3, the Spirit of God led Him immediately into an extended time of solitude and fellowship with God lasting 40 days in the wilderness. When He came back, His ministry was full of demonstrations of God’s power. The degree to which we follow this pattern is the degree to which we experience similar results.
“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”Act 1:8
CONFESSION:
Dear Holy Spirit, I respond to your drive for fellowship, and so I enjoy your manifest presence and power. I am transformed and delivered. I find joy, peace and grace as I walk with you today, in Jesus Name.

November Day 16
SPEAKING WITH TONGUES III
Scripture: Romans 8: 15-28
Meditation:“Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” Rom 8:26
Speaking with tongues gives us capacity to pray for things beyond our natural knowledge. It puts us where we can greatly cooperate with God in bringing His will to pass on the earth beyond the limited sphere of what we know. That is why it becomes easy for God to cause all things to work together for the good and advantage of those that allow Him to enrich their prayer life with tongues and groaning which cannot be uttered.
One other thing to note about the usefulness of tongues is that when we speak in tongues, satan cannot understand what we are saying [Matthew 16:23]. So he is incapacitated in his ability to create hindrances to the manifestation of your answers. This is of great value to anyone who wants to enjoy consistent victory in the Christian walk.
“For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God; for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the Spirit he speaketh mysteries.” I Corinthians 14:2.
So speaking in tongues should be an integral part of the believer’s devotion and prayer life. That is why Apostle Paul spoke with tongues so much that he could say:
“I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all.”– I Corinthians 14:18.
It should not be something we do occasionally, or when we gather in church alone. We should speak with tongues every time we pray or worship in public or in private. Sometimes we should just speak with tongues abundantly to build up or edify ourselves.
CONFESSION
I pray beyond my natural knowledge and what I know, because I cooperate with God to bring His will to pass on the earth. I speak in tongues all the time, so I stay connected with the power of the Spirit operating through me. Satan is incapacitated around me because I am a mystery to him. Victory is all I see and experience today in Jesus Name (Amen).
Fresh Word Daily Devotional by Apostle Victor Atokolo
November Day 15
SPEAKING WITH TONGUES II
Scripture: Acts 10: 25-48
Meditation:“And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God…,” Act 10:45-46
Speaking with tongues is the initial evidence or sign that a person is filled with the Holy Spirit. The Bible gives specific witnesses to show in Acts 2:4 where on the day of Pentecost 120 people were gathered in the upper room, “…and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.”
We also see in Acts 10 that speaking in tongues was the same sign or evidence that convinced the Hebrew Christians that the Gentiles had received the Holy Spirit. The baptism of the Holy Spirit and tongues go hand in hand. We need to understand that speaking in tongues is not the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit is not speaking in tongues, but they go together.
For example, when you buy a piece of land, you receive a Certificate of Occupancy or a Right of Ownership. The certificate is evidence that the piece of land is yours. Certainly, the land is not the certificate and the certificate is not the land. But you will never get very far to use the piece of land without the certificate, because the land would not be considered legally yours without it.
In the same way, if you have the infilling of the Holy Spirit then you should have the Biblical evidence that goes along with the experience which is speaking in tongues.
If you want a New Testament experience of the baptism in the Holy Spirit, which is indeed a deeper experience, then you will have to speak with tongues. As long as we are on this side of heaven, tongues will not cease. Only when we get to heaven will we cease to speak in tongues because there won’t be any more mysteries or secrets, so it will become unnecessary.
There is more to being filled with the Holy Spirit than speaking in tongues, but tongues are an integral and important part of receiving the Holy Spirit, since they are initial evidence of the infilling of the Holy Spirit.
CONFESSION
I have the evidence of the Holy Spirit in my life – I speak in tongues. I am not of them that take it for granted; rather I cherish this awesome evidence of the Holy Spirit operation in my life. Speaking in tongues is one of my potent weapons by which I reign in this life. I win always by the victory of the Holy Spirit in me.
Praise God!
Fresh Word Daily Devotional by Apostle Victor Atokolo
November Day 14
SPEAKING WITH TONGUES
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 14: 1-15
Meditation:“For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue, speaketh not unto men, but unto God; for no man understandeth him; how be it in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.” – I Corinthians 14:2.
“For if I pray in an [unknown] tongue, my spirit [by the Holy Spirit within me] prays, but my mind is unproductive [it bears no fruit and helps nobody].”I Corinthians 14:14 (ampl). .
The subject of speaking in other tongues is a point of confusion to many people. Many have been taught the wrong things about speaking in other tongues, and that is what confuses them. They have been told, the ‘tongues’ a man speaks is not genuine unless someone around can understand it. But this is not the picture given to us in this particular scripture.
In Acts chapter 2 when the Apostles first began to speak with tongues, everybody around them understood what was being said in their local dialects. That was because, another manifestation of the Holy Spirit called ‘diverse kinds of tongues’ was in operation at that event. God had given the 120 disciples the natural tongues of those present in the crowd.
When people spoke with other tongues in other chapters of the book of Acts, it was not reported that anybody around understood what was spoken. This is because there is a speaking with tongues that is direct communication of your spirit with God the Father. Since you are speaking to God and not man, no man needs to understand you. You can enjoy express fellowship with God without the interference of your carnal mind.
“For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaket mysteries.” I Co 14:2
This kind of speaking with tongues ought to be used extensively in prayer and praise to God on a daily basis. It enriches our Christian walk with the presence of God and enables us to pray for things beyond the knowledge of our minds. When you speak with tongues, you edify or build up yourself. It always leaves you strengthened, refreshed and anointed.
“He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself….”– I Corinthians 14:4.
CONFESSION
I am edified today because I speak in tongues consistently. I have and shall build up my most Holy Faith by speaking in tongues. Mountains are removed, chains are broken, and every limitation gives way because I am charged of the Spirit. I rejoice in this day the Lord has made. Thank you, Holy Spirit, for always being so loving and true. (Amen).
