SELF REFLECTION
The good they do erases in seconds,
The bad they do we love to memorize,
With the journals of history we keep our records,
From the peaks like the eagles in haste to criticize.
May I not do wrong in a bid to belong,
Or be found in junctions that I must compromise,
For it is difficult to forget the injustice we endure,
But we never retain memoirs of injustice we incur.
We give reasons to justify our wrong actions
And see reasons to condemn culprits of the same actions,
Hypocrisy! Indeed we all, are hypocrites!
It is one thing to be sober and another to recompense.
