WAITING IS NOT WASTING.

Waiting & Wasting - Two words that are close in Spelling and pronunciation, but very far in meaning. Probably because of how close they are in spelling and pronunciation, a lot of Christians take them to be the same. I am not saying that many christians dont know the meaning of these words, but I am saying that we act like they are the same.

That's why you find people who say "I am still waiting on God", and they say it with sadness. Ladies and Gentlemen, Brothers and Sisters, there is absolutely nothing sad or pitiable about waiting on God. Only people who are wasting deserves to be pitied. Infact, waiting is a fundamental part of life. Let me share some examples.

Is a child born the same day he/she was concieved? No. God created a 9-month waiting period between conception and delivery. You cannot avoid that waiting period to give birth. If anyone decides to bring out a foetus in 3 or 4 months, what they get is an abortion, not a birth. That waiting period is a fundamental part of child birth- It is called Pregnancy. Is pregnancy a bad thing? No!

There is a waiting period between seedtime and harvest. If you sow corn today and decide to harvest it tomorrow, what happens? If you want to drive somewhere quickly, and on the road you meet the sign indicating STOP, Is this sign helping you or wasting your time? If because you are in a hurry, you disregard this sign, what happens? Danger occurs!

That tells us there is a difference between waiting and wasting. There is a difference between waiting and delay! I look at this scripture, Galatians 5:22-23 and I see that waiting leads to good results. This establishes some of the things we have discussed earlier. For you to determine that your time is wasting, or that your time in life has been wasted, or that you are getting too late...YOU MUST BE THE AUTHOR OF LIFE OR TIME.

If you are not the author of life and time, then you really need to mind your conclusions about life. So...Waiting is not just fundamental to life, it is a core part of Christianity. How do I know this? The bible can't be said to be overflogging the issue of patience. Of course, one of the workings of the Holy Spirit in the life of a christian is that He gives him/her PATIENCE. If there is nothing for the christian to wait for, the bible will not emphasize patience.

God has given you the spirit of patience, IT IS NOT FOR NOTHING. Jesus instructed his disciples to WAIT or TARRY. Do you know what is common to all christians all over the world. Despite the fact that we speak different languages? We all WAITING for the coming of Christ. This makes me derive a new name for all Christians....We all are WAITERS! We all are ultimately waiting for the coming of Christ and at the same time waiting on God for one thing or the other in our little spaces.

Let me bring it home into the world of singles. What are you waiting for? Who are you waiting for? How are you waiting? Where are you waiting? In all of this, you must ensure you are waiting on GOD! Maybe You are waiting to get into a relationship. Maybe you already have a relationship and waiting to get married, pay attention here.

When you visit a restaurant and you see a guy waiting on customers, observe what he does.... He serves foods. He serves drinks. Checks on the customer to ensure he is OK. Clears the table when the customer is done. A WAITER IS A SERVER! You must be a server. In your waiting, get busy for God. This is what it means to wait on God. This is what differentiates a WAITING MAN from a WASTING MAN. I see a lot of people today doing nothing, just waiting to get married. That's wasting, not waiting. So you just finished secondary school and you dont want to go further until you get a man. O tin waste o!

You have a bachelor's degree and you dont want to do anything again, until you are married. You are wasting. I hear people a lot saying...."I will go and do that in my husband's house." BE CAREFUL.
Get involved in church, get another degree, get another skill, get another certification, learn another trade... STOP COUNTING DAYS, MAKE THE DAYS COUNT!

Where are you waiting? This is an important question. Where you are waiting also determines if you are waiting or wasting? what do I mean? Check your league of friends right now? What exactly is the purpose of these friendships? How can you have friends that you cannot even dare marrying any of them. Not even one of them! Some of us are using purposeless friendships to waste our time.

In our generation, many people are in relationships. Yet you say "he has not proposed, we are just going out." WHERE ARE YOU GOING THAT YOU HAVE NOT REACHED IN 5 YEARS? Dont waste people's time, dont allow anyone to waste your time as well...define your relationships with people. Be intentional about the company you keep.

You call each other 5 times a day, use each other as wall papers, whatsapp statuses, you quickly react if you see other genders around them, yet you are not discussing marriage at all. You are playing...I mean you are wasting. I believe that you are waiting sincerely and not wasting, but who are you waiting for? Do you know who you are waiting for? If he/she passes by, will you recognize him or her?

How possible is it to wait for someone you know nothing about? You dont know if he is tall or short, you dont know if he is fair or dark, you dont know his name or her name. So who are you waiting for then? In your waiting on God, be intentional and purposeful. Your wife will be an help for your life. Your husband will be an help for your life. Be intentional about keeping friends who share and believe in your purpose. Infact, friends who participate in your life's purpose and ministry.

Finally, there are a lot of marriages in trouble today. People who skipped the waiting time. People who wasted the waiting time. As you wait on God, may your strength be renewed. May you mount up with wings as eagles in Jesus name. Amen.

Four Stages of Elimination in Life.

1. At 60, the workplace eliminates you. No matter how successful or powerful you were during your career, you'll return to being an ordinary person. So, don't cling to the mindset and sense of superiority from your past job or position in the society, let go of your ego, or you might lose your sense of ease!

2. At 70, society gradually eliminates you. The friends and colleagues you used to meet and socialize with become fewer, and hardly anyone recognizes you at your former workplace. Don't say, "I used to be..." or "I was once..." because the younger generation won't know you, and you mustn't feel uncomfortable about it!

3. At 80, family slowly eliminates you. Even if you have many children and grandchildren, most of the time you'll be living with your spouse or by yourself. When your children visit occasionally, it's an expression of affection, so don't blame them for coming less often, as they're busy with their own lives!

4. At 90, the Earth wants to eliminate you. Some of the people you knew have already departed forever. At this point, don't be sad or mournful, because this is the way of life, and everyone will eventually follow this path!

REMEMBER,
1. the only thing that won't eliminate you eternally is God because at the end of our journey here on earth we shall all return to Him with accounts of how we live our lives,
2. So, meet Him more,
3. Communicate with Him more,
4. Obey His orders, and
5. Maintain your presence with Him.

Therefore, while our bodies are still capable, live life to the fullest! Worship God in truth and in spirit. And there will be no regrets about living .
