OLOROGUN (AMB). HENRY VOKE OSHASHA COMMENDS DELTA APC LEADERSHIP ON THE EXPULSION AND SUSPENSION OF MESSRS. CAIRO OJOUGBOH AND LAURETTA ONOCHIE OVER ANTI-PARTY ACTIVITIES.

April 2, 2023.

I sincerely commend the leadership of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State ably led by Elder Omeni Sobotie over the recent expulsion and suspension of Dr. Cairo Ojougboh and Madam Lauretta Onochie, respectively, as members of the party over their involvement in anti-party activities.

Particularly, I commend the Ward executive members of Alihame Ward 06, Ika South LGA and Onicha Olona Ward 04, Aniocha North LGA for rising to the occasion and commencing this important mission of saving our party from saboteurs.

The bold decision of the party leadership to activate the exit buttons for unrepentant erring members is consistent with standard political practice globally, even as it aligns with the provisions of Article 21.1(i), (ii), 21.3(iv) and 21.5(g) of the Constitution of the All Progressives Congress 2022 as amended.

It is disheartening to find members of the APC who have continued to feed fat from opportunities afforded them by the party working tirelessly to frustrate her growth at the state level. This will serve as a deterrent to other as we are tired of the Monkey they work baboon they chop adage

The actions of the duo, especially in the last General elections not only negate the expectations of party stalwarts who have continued to benefit immensely from the party but also run afoul of democratic norms and rules of administration of political parties anywhere in the world.

Indiscipline in political parties is antithetical to democratic consolidation and good governance. Therefore, to maintain its stability and sustain its quest for power and the primacy of its agenda, the need for party discipline has become increasingly important.

I take this opportunity to call on our members to uphold the party's interest at all times and shun actions that are capable of undermining its survival and growth.

Oshasha congratulates Osanebi on emergence as Agege's running mate

Former House of Representatives aspirant for Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu Federal Constituency, Olorogun (Amb). Henry Ovuoke Oshasha has congratulated former Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Osanebi Ossai Friday on his emergence as the running mate of the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress and the Deputy President of the Senate, Sen. (Barr). Ovie Omo-Agege.

Olorogun Oshasha in a statement on Thursday said the choice of Osanebi as the APC Deputy Governorship candidate would help to brighten its chances at the polls.

He commended Sen. Agege and the leadership of the party for deeming it fit to nominate a youth of high exemplary standing, stressing that this no doubt, would be a plus to the quest of Building A New Delta driven by the EDGE Agenda.

“I join our party leaders, party faithfuls and supporters across Delta State in congratulating the former Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, H.E Rt. Hon. Friday Osanebi, on his emergence as the Deputy Governorship candidate of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“I am delighted with the choice of Hon. Osanebi as our party's Deputy Governorship candidate. No doubt, Osanebi brings immense electoral value to the APC ticket.

"He is a young and highly resourceful grassroots mobilizer whose antecedents in both public and private life speak volumes about his capacity to deliver efficiently on the job.

LIKE THE BIBLICAL MOSES, DELTA APC DECAMPEES SAW BUT COULD NOT ENTER THE PROMISED LAND.

It is yet another electioneering season and as has been the practice, political players are beginning to jump ship. For some days now, Legislative aides to the Deputy President of the Senate and the Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Delta State, His Excellency, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege have resigned their appointments as well as their membership of the party.

As a party chieftain and stakeholder, it is my view that these resignations are selfish and a pointer to the fact that the affected decampees were only in the party to further their private interests without recourse to the imperative of building a formidable opposition to wrestle power from the Peoples Democratic Party that has continued to run our dear state aground given its many years of lacklustre, inept and unproductive reign.

It is germane to state very clearly that the decampees are beneficiaries of the party's goodwill having been given appointments by the Deputy President of the Senate to contribute to nation-building at the legislative cadre. This, without a doubt, underscores the APC's commitment to human capital development and its mission to groom young leaders through driving an inclusive governance architecture.

Whereas I respect their rights to freedom of association, I condemn, however, their decision to leave the party to a place where the reward for their services is not guaranteed, especially at such a critical point in the party's drive towards Building A New Delta anchored on the EDGE AGENDA of the Governorship Standard-bearer of our party.

I respectfully call on members of the APC from across the State to take advantage of internal mechanisms to address grievances, if any, that may scuttle their entry to the promised land.

More than ever before, we are committed to rescuing our state from bad leadership and it is my hope that, unlike the biblical Moses, may we not see the promised land but fail to enter into it. Keep the faith, Delta is on the brink of liberation.

BETTER A UNITED FAMILY THAN A DIVIDED HOUSE: A PASSIONATE APPEAL TO AGGRIEVED PARTY ASPIRANTS TO SHEATHE THEIR SWORDS AND PUT PARTY INTEREST FIRST.

27/05/2022.

Fellow party members, particularly aspirants for elective positions in the ongoing party primaries and their supporters alike, I am constrained to draw our attention to the peculiar intricacies of party nomination processes and their likely impacts on the fortunes of political parties in a general elective contest.

To be honest, it takes great courage to offer oneself for service in an elective position. Significantly, when this bid is aborted in a manner perceived to be in violation of one's right and suppression of one's aspiration from seeing the light of the day, especially after exerting monetary, human and other resources in the cause of such pursuit, nerves are often frayed and decisions that could have far reaching effects on the fortunes of the party may likely be the last resort.

It is therefore in this light that I wish to implore any aggrieved aspirant who finds himself/herself in this ugly situation to take advantage of internal mechanisms to seek redress rather than resorting to rash actions that may affect the fortunes of the party on the broad scale.

My esteemed party members, this call serves to remind us to always put first and above all other considerations, the interest of the party, irrespective of what we may have been through. As they say, the party is supreme. Therefore, I call on all aggrieved aspirants to set aside their grievances and focus more on the internal opportunities for growth which only a united political family can help to achieve. It is my plea that it shouldn't be heard that any aspirant went to court to challenge the outcome of the primaries held to nominate candidates for various elective positions in the party. We must not present ourselves as clogs in the wheels of progress of our party. The primaries are a family contest. But as we know, only one aspirant can be fielded for a certain position per time. Hence, the imperative of this call. Your grievances may be valid, but on behalf of the party, I apologize and plead for unity as our best way forward.

There is no denying that offering oneself for service is itself a great sacrifice made, but even greater is the understanding and commitment to the unity of the APC which is critical to our electoral victory in the general elections.

We have more to achieve together as a united family than we possibly could as a divided house. Let's close ranks and work together for the victory of our party at the polls. Party interest first! Party is supreme. This is my plea.

Today, we celebrate the birthday anniversary of this quintessentially fine gentleman and leader.

NOTICE OF WITHDRAWAL OF MY HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES ASPIRATION.

My good people of Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu Federal Constituency, you would recall that on the 12th Day of March 2022, I publicly declared my intention to contest for the Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu Federal Constituency seat at the House of Representatives in the forthcoming 2023 elections.

My declaration was consequent upon my conviction that I offer a sound and visionary alternative to provide effective leadership for our people at the Green Chamber. More so, I made that declaration after consultations with my leader, Olorogun Festus Keyamo, the Honourable Minister of State for Labour and Employment, family, friends and supporters who felt I am qualified to represent our people and believe in my capacity to deliver effectively on the job.

Consequently, therefore, I consulted widely across the three local government areas in the federal constituency and proceeded to purchase my expression of interest and nomination forms, which I have submitted after duly completing them as required by law and the All Progressives Congress constitution.

However, following recent developments in our great party, I hereby announce the withdrawal of my interest and earlier decision to contest the Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives in the 2023 general elections. Accordingly, I will not proceed any further with the internal party processes of the election as scheduled.

My decision to withdraw from the House of Representatives race was taken in the overriding interest of our party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), after a series of interventions from our party leaders across the board, who in their wisdom felt all hands must be on deck to return the incumbent, being the only APC House of Representatives member from Delta state, and upon reelection, will become a ranking member of the House.

This decision was a hard one to make, but given the situation at hand, it is the right thing to do. Significantly, as a young aspiring politician who enjoyed and still enjoys massive support from our party members since my declaration, today, I held an enlarged meeting with my campaign team, LGA and Ward coordinators, and supporters from across the three LGAs of our Federal Constituency, wherein we deliberated on the way forward and I was given the nod to withdraw from the race. I do not take their goodwill and support for granted.

My constituents, political associates and well-wishers across the federal constituency are by this statement informed of my withdrawal from the race and are enjoined to support the incumbent, Rt. Hon. (Revd). Francis Ejiroghene Waive all the support needed to secure his reelection bid.

Ahead of the All Progressives Congress primaries, I was earlier today at the Buhari House, the National Secretariat of our great party to submit my duly completed nomination forms for the House of Representatives.

I am hopeful that the quest for an enhanced and people-centred representation which my candidacy offers for the people of Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu Federal Constituency shall be validated at the primaries.

Our people should get set for representation at its best. This is the alternative I offer.

OLOROGUN OSHASHA INSPECTS PALACE BUILDING PROJECT, EXPRESS SATISFACTION WITH WORK DONE.

Olorogun (Amb). Voke Henry Oshasha, today inspected the ongoing Ughelli Kingdom Palace project to ascertain the pace of work do so far.

Received by the site contractor, the Ughelli Kingdom Palace Building Committee Chairman expressed satisfaction with the work done so far and commended the contractor over the quality of work done as well as sons and daughters of the kingdom for their contributions and support towards the project of building a befitting palace for the Kingdom.

Addressing newsmen shortly after the inspection exercise, the peoples choice for Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives said:

"Building a befitting palace for our Kingdom is one project that is very dear to my heart. I want to thank all sons and daughters of the Ughelli Kingdom whose continued support and contributions have made this project achievable. I am impressed by the pace and quality of work and I am optimistic that by the end of the year, the project should be near completion".

He thereafter proceeded to the Kings Court where he paid an unscheduled visit on the king to intimate him of his findings with regards to the progress of the project.

Yesterday 4th May 2022, the peoples choice for Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu Federal Constituency in the forthcoming 2023 National Assembly elections, Olorogun (Amb). Voke Henry Oshasha consulted with the Delta Central APC Women Leader, Mrs. Loveth Onojoserio

Recalling their history of working together to promote the political and ideological interests of the party, Amb. Oshasha explained that his visit was to formally inform the Women Leader of the Delta Central Senatorial District of his intention to vie for the House of Representatives in the 2023 elections to represent the peace-loving people of the Ughelli/Udu Federal Constituency and to solicit her endorsement which he says would be a major boost to his aspirations.

"Ma, you and I have come a long way on this political journey. Severally, we have worked together to promote the best interests of the party and to further solidify its base beyond the Delta Central Senatorial District. As our party's women leader in the senatorial district and given your history of service to the party, I have come to formally inform you that I am running for the House of Representatives to represent the Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu Federal Constituency in the forthcoming 2023 elections.

"Your support for my aspiration and the success of this journey means a lot to me. My team and I have come not only to consult your office but to seek your input as a friend and associate toward achieving success on this journey. I am asking that you hold me by the hand as we navigate the political turf to bring this dream to fruition. I do not doubt your capacity to deliver me for the job", he requested.

Olorogun Oshasha explained that a central focus of his agenda is to empower women and youths for self-sustenance in ways that are 21st century compliant, a programme he intends to float through partnership and intense consultations with the women of the Federal constituency.

Responding, Mrs Loveth Onojoserio noted: "Olorogun Voke Oshasha is one young man who has distinguished himself in leadership, administration and business. Our federal constituency has benefited from his business investments in several ways. On the political front, he has over the years demonstrated an uncommon passion for the growth of our party through a strong record of support both in service and financial commitment. He is reliable, trusted and overqualified to represent our constituency at the Green chambers", she stated.

OLOROGUN OSHASHA COMMISERATES WITH LADY (MRS) ESE EDIJANA OVER THE DEATH OF HER HUSBAND.

It is with a heavy heart that I received the sad news of the sudden death of Sir (Chief) Torpe Edijana, husband to Lady (Mrs). Ese Gloria Edijana, the All Progressives Congress Chairmanship flagbearer for Ughelli North Local Government Area in the 2021 Local Government Elections in Delta State who was gruesomely assassinated by daredevil gunmen at his Agbarho country home yesterday.

There is no doubt that this is a very trying time for his family and associates, particularly his wife and relatives. My thoughts and prayers are with Edijana's and the APC family in Agbarho in this movement of grief.

The death of Sir Edijana is a great loss to all lovers of progressive governance and social development; We have lost an extraordinary social crusader who exemplified the skills of leadership and great determination in business, politics and family life. He will be sorely missed.

On behalf of the good people of Ughelli/Udu Federal constituency, I call on security agencies to dispassionately investigate the circumstances surrounding Sir. Edijana's death and to unmask the perpetrators of this dastardly act.

May God Almighty grant his soul eternal rest, while giving his wife and the entire members of his family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.

MY MANDATE WITH THE PEOPLE OF UGHELLI/UDU FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY

SECURITY AND PEACE-BUILDING

Over the years, our communities have been faced with several issues of insecurity, chief amongst which is the farmers/herders clashes that have led to the loss of lives and properties in an unquantifiable proportion, kidnapping and armed robbery as well communal clashes amongst our people.

Aware of this challenge, I intend as a legislator to initiate measures toward stemming the tide of these ugly activities within the federal constituency. I will engage stakeholders and community leaders and partner with local and state security outfits to address these challenges.

I will be vocal on the floor of the house to get the house to prevail on the Federal Government to advance practicable and result-driven approaches towards putting a stop to open grazing and illegal occupation of our farmlands. Now is the time to go beyond rhetoric and promises by matching words with actions.

The man you see today used to be that small boy who grew up in the streets of Ughelli.

It wasn't always rosy for me, as many who know me can readily attest to, but by dint of hardwork, belief in my ability to achieve success despite all odds and God's abundant grace and favour upon my life, I was able to make of my life what it is today.

I am particularly grateful to God for his benevolence upon my life because this has helped me to be of service to my community and humanity at large.

Over the years, mine has been a life of service. I believe very strongly that we must all strive to leave this world better than we met it. We must strive to offer ourselves for the cause of advancing humanity. Which is why, as a businessman, I elected to establish my businesses at the home front so that I can actively contribute to the development we all seek.

Power belongs to God and he gives it to whoever he pleases. Therefore, I call on all delegates from Ughelli North/Ughelli South and Udu Federal Constituency to support me to clinch the ticket of our great party in the forthcoming primaries. I believe that as a congressman, I will be better positioned to do even more for our people.

Yesterday, marked the 30th coronation anniversary of his ascension to the throne of his father's.

As a proud son of the Great Ughelli Kingdom, I joined the Council of Ilorogun, sons and daughters, as well as friends and well wishers of the Great Ughelli Kingdom to celebrate this landmark achievement in the reign of our revered King.

All through his reign, Ajuwe has shown courageous and visionary leadership which has brought enormous blessings to our people and has defined a clear path that is propelling the kingdom to greater heights.

Stella Eruvwuoghene Okotete, at the UPU House, Uvwiamuge-Agbarho.

Olorogun Oshasha congratulates Hon. Okotete on the anniversary of her birth as well as her reappointment as Executive Director at the NEXIM Bank by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Gen. Mohammadu Buhari, GCFR.

Olorogun Oshasha notes with pride the positive contributions of Hon. Stella Okotete to the growth of the APC where she most recently served as the women representative in the CCECPC prior to the party's National Convention held recently.

May God Almighty bless the Urhobo Amazon with good health and strengthened commitment as she strive to continually contribute her quota to the growth and development of the Nigerian State.

Yesterday, being 14th April 2022, the Olorogun Voke Oshasha Campaign trail joined APC leaders and members from across the 25 LGAs at the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun, in Uvwie LGA of Delta State to together with the Agenda of His Excellency, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, the Deputy President of the Senate as he formally declared his intention to run for the Office of the Governor of Delta State.

It was an atmosphere of victory and liberation for the people whose goodwill has been repeatedly abused by a select unproductive few since Nigeria's return to democratic rule in 1999.

More than ever, the All Progressive Congress is determined to liberate Delta State from the fang of underdevelopment, poverty, inept leadership and maladministration by offering a sound and viable alternative for sustained progressive governance from 2023 going forward.

MY PACT WITH UGHELLI/UDU PEOPLE

A. HUMAN CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT/EMPOWERMENT AND WEALTH CREATION (Part 1)

I am deeply worried about the problem of poverty and unemployment amongst our people. To this end, I will initiate result-based approaches to human capacity building in the Federal Constituency.

Our approach will mark a sharp departure from the old order of empowerment with okada, Keke and grinding machines.

We will invest in our people by partnering with tech firms to harness their potential and train them in productive ventures that are 21st century compliant.

Earlier today, I honoured the invitation extended to me by my leader, the Honourable Minister of State for Labour and Employment. Olorogun Festus Keyamo, SAN, FCIArk (UK) as he formally inaugurated the recently reconstituted boards of the National Institute of Labour Studies (NILS) and the National Directorate of Employment (NDE).

Olorogun Keyamo tasked members of the new boards to commit to professionalism and excellence at all times and to shun corrupt practices in line with President Mohammadu Buhari administration's zero-tolerance policy for corruption.

Messrs. Collins Iriferi Umukoro and Andrew Obukohwo Egunoma were inaugurated as members of the Board of the NDE while Prince Sam Okpako Onokohwomo (Kowho) was inaugurated as Chairman of the Board of NILS.

Tuesday 12th April 2022 was no doubt a busy day for my team and I. The Campaign ship berthed at Oginibo Town where I formally consulted the leadership of our great party, the All Progressives Congress in Ughelli South Local Government Area.

I laid bare my intentions to serve the good people of Ughelli North/Ughelli South & Udu Federal Constituency as well as my agenda to drive progressive governance for the good of our beloved constituency if given the mandate to become our party's flag bearer in the 2023 General Elections. I particularly prayed the Ughelli South Chapter of the APC to rally around my aspiration and mobilize support for the same. I equally solicited their prayers for a fruitful political journey.

The feedback no doubt was a boost for my aspiration. Speaking on behalf of the exco, the Chairman, Sir. Isaiah Kekeje extolled my commitment to growth of society over the years. In his words: "Your developmental projects across Ughelli and environs is a testament to your disposition to advancing societal development from the home front. Ughelli South APC is pleased to offer prayers for the success of your aspirations. Be assured of our support always".

Consequently, therefore, prayers were offered for victorious outing.
