Huge Explosion in Oyo State Ibadan.
The state Government has put out a statement via it's X account....it reads

"The Oyo State Government is aware of reports of an explosion in Ibadan. Residents are urged to remain calm as security agencies are investigating this to determine the source and cause of the incident".

The explosion happened around Dejo Oyelese Close, Off Adeyi Avenue, Old Bodija
The nature and cause of the explosion is yet to be determined but security operatives are investigating and rescue operations are currently going on in the State.

Beware and be careful if you're in Ibadan right now. Our prayers are for those that have been rescued and those yet to be found.

OBASEKI MOURNS PASSING OF ONDO GOVERNOR, AKEREDOLU

It is with great grief that I received the news of the passing of my brother governor and dear friend, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, the Governor of Ondo State, who served his people meritoriously and diligently, building a legacy of sacrifice, sustainable development and prosperity.

Brave and independent-minded, Akeredolu was a great man in all ramifications. From an illustrious career as a lawyer, rising to become a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and then serving as Governor of Ondo State, his intellect, hard work and diligence stood him out and was reflected in his attainments and the fervour with which he served the good people of Ondo State.

His legacy in the legal profession is indelible as he was renowned in his field of expertise while building a reputation of being thorough, incisive and comprehensive. It won him a lot of admirers who came to recognise his genius.

As Governor of Ondo State, Akeredolu worked for the people of Ondo State and was committed to the State’s advancement not minding its toll on him. He was a governor who cared deeply and undertook projects that would cement his name in the sands of time. He made remarkable progress in developing different sectors of the State’s economy and improved on key indices of government.

When it mattered the most, he was always a voice of reason to provide insight, direction and guidance on issues of national importance, a reflection of his love for our dear country and deep introspection. He, indeed, gave himself for the service of the motherland.

He will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to Nigeria’s development, for contributing to the emergence of modern Ondo State and for his unblemished faith in Nigeria’s unity and diversity.

I commiserate with the Government and good people of Ondo State and the Akeredolu family, and pray that God will grant all the fortitude to bear this painful and irreparable loss.

Breaking: Justice Okoro of the Supreme Court has just dismissed the application to file and accept the evidence from Chicago State University stating that Bola Tinubu’s Certificate was forged.

He stated the timeframe to accept new evidence has elapsed and so the evidence will not be used.

Photos: LASTMA official cause tragedy as vehicle kills pregnant woman, her children, ‘keke’ driver

Tragedy struck today, Tuesday, in Ago, Okota area of Lagos, after a vehicle being chased by an official of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, rammed into a tricycle, killing a pregnant woman and her two children.

The driver of the tricycle also lost his life in the accident.

Eyewitnesses alleged that one of the LASTMA officials at Okota Roundabout was struggling the steering of a Toyota Sienna vehicle with the driver in his bid to arrest him for violating traffic rules.

In the process, the vehicle reportedly lost control and rammed into a tricycle on Bayo Oyewale Street.

The pregnant woman was taking her children to school when tragedy struck.

The incident sparked a protest, as an irate mob descended on the LASTMA official.

However, the timely intervention of a team of policemen saved the official from being lynched, as the officers fired tear gas cannisters to disperse the mob.

The policemen also cleared the barricade mounted on the road by the protesters, as they whisked the LASTMA official away.

Harry Potter actor, Michael Gambon known for playing Dumbledore dies at 82

Irish-English actor, Sir Michael Gambon, best known for playing Professor Albus Dumbledore in six of the eight “Harry Potter” films, has died in hospital aged 82.
His family announced his death on Thursday in a statement saying he died after a battle with pneumonia.

Obaseki accepts Shaibu’s apology, says to err is human, to forgive divine

The letter reads: “I have noted the public apology made by the Deputy Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu. This apology followed an aberrant behaviour that contradicts what the people of Edo State stand for.

“To name a few, the Deputy Governor needlessly filed unfounded petitions in the Nigerian courts restraining me, the State House of Assembly and Security agencies from a non-existent impeachment process, followed by repeated breaches of protocol; unwarranted and unprovoked attacks in the media on my person and the State Government. The media frenzy as a result of the above and more, provided an impression of crises that has been precarious and distasteful to Edo people in the State and across the world.

“Although these unwarranted provocations caused me severe personal discomfort, as a person of faith, I am under obligation to accept this apology because as they say, “to err is human, to forgive is divine.”

Obaseki further noted, “In good faith, I trust that the public apology as expressed by the Deputy Governor is genuine and followed by contrite steps to improve his conflict resolution skills. I also enjoin the Deputy Governor to guide his proxies to act in accordance with his piety.”

He added, “It is my sincere hope and that of my other colleagues in government and all well-meaning Edo people, that these rhetorics will be put to an end forthwith to enable this administration finish strong and deliver the dividends of democracy to the greatest number of Edo people over this final twelve (12) months.”

MohBad Was Brought In Dead, Didn't Die In Our Facility, Lagos Hospital Releases Statement

Perez Medcare Hospital, where singer Ilerioluwa Aloba aka MohBad was allegedly taken to, has released a statement concerning the singer's death.

In the statement shared on its Instagram page on Monday night, the hospital stated that the singer was brought in dead at the hospital.

The hospital also debunked rumours that the singer was admitted into the hospital.

The statement partly read, "The attention of the management of Perez Medcare Hospital has been drawn to the misleading and false information being circulated in some social media platforms that Mr. Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (AKA Mohbad) died in our medical facility.

"We consider it pertinent to put on record that at about 04:30pm on the 12th of September 2023, the lifeless body of Mr. Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (AKA Mohbad) was brought to our medical facility and our medical team immediately sprang into action and after assessment, it was discovered that there was no sign of life, no central or peripheral pulse, no heartbeat, no recordable vital signs and his pupils were fixed and dilated.

"On attempting CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), rigor mortis (stiffening of some parts of the body in relation to death) was observed and the persons who brought him to our facility were informed that it was a case of BID (Brought in dead).

"Upon enquiry about the circumstances leading to the emergency, our team was informed that the deceased was being treated at home by a nurse and that she administered injections on him.

"Our team thereafter advised that the body be taken to the nearest Government Hospital where he can be deposited in the morgue.

"Let it be known that Mr. Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (AKA Mohbad) was not a patient of Perez Medcare Hospital and was never admitted at our hospital at any material time whatsoever.

"Also, the nurse who was said to be administering treatment on him at home is not a staff of Perez Medcare Hospital and the video of the medical facility circulating In the media space in which the late Mr. Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (AKA Mohbad) is seen alive and receiving treatment is not Perez Medcare Hospital."
