Did you know that within the body of Christ, only one person can be called into the ministry within a local assembly? What does this mean? Let's discuss it soon. Join us for this interesting topic.

Php 1:9 And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;
Php 1:10 That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ;
Php 1:11 Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

Something is happening in the Church and it’s not evil it’s called change. Remember this scripture in the bible
Zec 6:12 And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the LORD:
Zec 6:13 Even he shall build the temple of the LORD; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.

KEEP IT REAL

When I see members calling their ministers Papa and Mama, I have always wondered the reason for 'outside bible' titles. In some countries especially African countries, this can be seen as a sign of respect but What you call your Pastors matters a lot.

Names are given as means of identification or for control. The 5 fold ministry was also given as seen in the bible.

Ephesians 4:11 KJV: And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

He gave 'Gifts as in the five fold ministry' which are not mere 'titles'. A Minister should be addressed as what his ministry entails within the five fold tolerance'. Their birth names can be added for identification for different reasons. The Bible system is the standard not men system. So keep it real in the church, we should not make things more complicated beyond what the bible permits.

For example, Why should a young Pastor in his twenties feel so comfortable with his member in their seventies calling him daddy or Papa?

When too much authority is given to a person in men’s system it might likely birth tyranny and lawlessness. So also in the church we should not fall into the same. We have just one God, who is the head of all and only him should all authority be given to. Men of God should be respected but not above God.

There is nothing wrong in members correcting a Pastor privately when he goes wrong vice-versa. Also pray for your pastors in situations like that aside speaking with your pastor over errors made. One is a Pastor doesn’t mean you are error proof. Humility should make you give room for others to be able to correct you.

Mat 20:25 But Jesus called the disciples and said, "You know that the rulers of the gentiles lord it over them and their superiors act like tyrants over them.
Mat 20:26 That's not the way it should be among you. Instead, whoever wants to be great among you must be your servant,
Mat 20:27 and whoever wants to be first among you must be your slave.
Mat 20:28 That's the way it is with the Son of Man. He did not come to be served, but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many people."

2024
Welcome to the Year 2024.
My Earnest Prayer and desire in this new year is to see more collaborations amongst the body of Christ in fellowship,in prayers,in soul winning,evangelism ,in worship.

As the scripture says in. Psalm 133:1-3

Psa 133:1 A Song of Ascents; of David. Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
Psa 133:2 It is like the precious oil upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard; that came down upon the skirt of his garments;
Psa 133:3 Like the dew of Hermon, that cometh down upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.

Happy New year to us all. We will have a fruitful and prosperous new year with glorious testimonies as we walk in Gods perfect will.

A NATION NOT A CROWD

Luk 11:17 But he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth.

No matter how many people are, a few that are united will always overcome them. Hundred united will always be greater than billions of divided.

I pondered on this for a while and realised that is the truth. The subject of saving the whole world, reconciling men to Christ also involves uniting them. As important as saving all the people in the world is great, it means nothing until there is unity amongst them.

In the book of Genesis the problem was not multiplication because man was already blessed to multiply but Adam's major issue was to get Cain to love Abel, Esau to love Jacob or Jacob to get Joseph brothers to accept Joseph.

There is difference between a mass and a nation. A mass is a crowd of people having their own individual opinion, priorities, missions, direction and so on.

A nation on the other hand is a large body of people united by common descent, history, culture, or language, inhabiting a particular country or territory.

Jesus Christ produced a nation when the bible says in 1 Peter 2:9;
But you are "an elect race," "a royal priesthood," "a holy nation," "a people for possession," so that "you may openly speak of the virtues" of the One who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

The church leaders are missing a key thing in their methodology or approach in church building. It is important to understand that we are one body. You are not building your church but his body, which amazingly are many parts that we call local assembly or denominations.

The purpose of the church leadership structure is to train the saints to know our Lord Jesus Christ more and more, which will further result in unity. Christians should know one body and not denomination. Ephesians 4:11-16

Eph 4:11 He also gave apostles, prophets, missionaries, as well as pastors and teachers as gifts to his church.

Eph 4:12 Their purpose is to prepare God’s people to serve and to build up the body of Christ.

Eph 4:13 This is to continue until all of us are united in our faith and in our knowledge about God’s Son, until we become mature, until we measure up to Christ, who is the standard.

Eph 4:14 Then we will no longer be little children, tossed and carried about by all kinds of teachings that change like the wind. We will no longer be influenced by people who use cunning and clever strategies to lead us astray.

Eph 4:15 Instead, as we lovingly speak the truth, we will grow up completely in our relationship to Christ, who is the head.

Eph 4:16 He makes the whole body fit together and unites it through the support of every joint. As each and every part does its job, he makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love. GW

Let us further consider this scripture in the bible 2 Corinthians 3:17-18;

2Co 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

2Co 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Verse 17 talks about liberty which is defined in the dictionary as the state of being free within society from oppressive restrictions imposed by authority on one's way of life, behavior, or political views.

Furthermore, verse 18 describes what true teachings produces; open face, realising the Glory of Christ and a change of state in our mental understanding to knowing that we are the same image.

WHAT IMAGE? The image of the son of God. The son of God is one body as the bible explains in 1 Corinthians 12:13; For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. It is into one body not different body or bodies.

As you grow in Christ you will start seeing that we are one. 1 John 4:11-21:

1Jn 4:11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

1Jn 4:12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

1Jn 4:13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.

1Jn 4:14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.

1Jn 4:15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.

1Jn 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

1Jn 4:17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

1Jn 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

1Jn 4:19 We love him, because he first loved us.

1Jn 4:20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

1Jn 4:21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.

It doesn’t matter how many we are, or how vast the Christian population is, as long as we are still denomination focused we are still a crowd and not a nation. We should be united. The body of Christ should be united. We will make more impact in the world by being united as Jesus Christ has instructed.

Ministers of the gospel of Jesus Christ are called to unite the church. Jesus is coming for his body not your denomination alone. He must increase and it is time for you to decrease for His glory to be manifested. John 3:28-30 says;

Jhn 3:28 You heard me tell you before that I am not the Messiah, but certainly I am the messenger sent ahead of him.

Jhn 3:29 He is the Bridegroom, and the bride belongs to him. I am the friend of the Bridegroom who stands nearby and listens with great joy to the Bridegroom’s voice. And because of his words my joy is complete and overflows

Jhn 3:30 So it’s necessary for him to increase and for me to be diminished. TPT.

Let us work in uniting the body of Christ. One body-One church.

HAVING A BALANCED LIFE (1 Tim 3:2-5 TPT)

1Ti 3:2 Yet an elder needs to be one who is without blame before others. He should be one whose heart is for his wife alone and not another woman. He should be recognized as one who is sensible, and well-behaved, and living a disciplined life. He should be a “spiritual shepherd” who has the gift of teaching, and is known for his hospitality.

1Ti 3:3 He cannot be a drunkard, or someone who lashes out at others, or argumentative, or someone who simply craves more money, but instead, recognized by his gentleness.

1Ti 3:4 His heart should be set on guiding his household with wisdom and dignity; bringing up his children to worship with devotion and purity.

1Ti 3:5 For if he’s unable to properly lead his own household well, how could he properly lead God’s household?

Thank you Helen Baylor for this song, I have wondered why we have not realised this truth. There are many saints who either through self inflicted errors or otherwise are wounded who needs someone’s love or words of healing. Instead of looking out for their faults why don’t we help them regain themselves. These cry is to all Christians all over world stand for the weak and vulnerable amongst us help them to recover and not to give up.

BUSINESS OR CHURCH?

This is a question we need to be asking ourselves as leaders in God’s house. Am I running a money making business for myself or building for God?

To Buiild means put together, construct , make , erect, manufacture , raise , fabricate, assemble , put up, set up, frame , fit together, piece together, fashion , rear. In all these meanings, there is nothing which indicates disorganize · disarrange ; exterminate · stop ; eliminate · damage ; end · divide ; take to pieces or trash.

Let us establish a fact that is based on the saying and teaching of our Lord Jesus when he said I will build my Church(Matt 16:18). The aim of the church is to build. This aim encourages coming together, raising together, fitting together, assembling together, framing together and the list goes on. But when it is not following this pattern then it becomes questionable.

Is it a church of Christ or is it something else?

I have also wondered why the leaders that seem to be leading the church of Christ seems more divided than even the kingdom of darkness, yet, every of these leaders claim that it is the body of Christ that they are building. How can one build the body of who they don’t even understand? Paul asked a simple question which I am asking also today;

1Co 1:13 ... Is Christ divided?
Why is the church so divided today?

If we are building the body of Christ, truly it should show in our unity and collaboration. No one should feel he is better than the other or more superior.
'My church' is the now focus no more 'His church'. This explains why they would not come together because it is about personal glory and ambitions.

We are making so much mockery of the church that people are even wondering 'What is happening with church?'.

I had a church ministers meeting recently and one of the Pastors was talking about a Muslim telling him of how they come together in helping one another, a similar thing I experienced while I was living in Ethiopia. You find them coming together in a way that either high, low, rank or position is not magnified as you find in the church of Christ today. By pointing this out, I am not saying that all churches falls into this category, rather I am saying that we should refocus out attention back to Christ's teachings and purpose for his church to work in unity. The foundation of Christianity is founded on love, for God is love. (1Jn 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God, and everyone who loves has been born of God, and knows God. 1Jn 4:8 The one who does not love has not known God. For God is love.)

John 3:16, the most popular scripture in the Bible highlights two major things 'Love and Gave'.

Love is about giving not constantly taking as prominently seen now, most especially amongst church leaders. Pastors now living in luxury under the disguise of 'our God is not a poor God'. That is the very point and we thank God for His many blessings but when a church leader has become wealthy through the opportunities the church provides, why then are you not taking care of your brethren? It is important for a leader to help the church of Christ flourish by also helping to raise the brethren when God has increased his or her capacity. Being a christian or church leader is not about personal gain but Christ gain which is kingdom gain.
(1Pe 5:2 to be compassionate shepherds who tenderly care for God’s flock and who feed them well, for you have the responsibility to guide, protect, and oversee. Consider it a joyous pleasure and not merely a religious duty. Lead from the heart under God’s leadership—not as a way to gain finances dishonestly but as a way to eagerly and cheerfully serve. 1Pe 5:3 Don’t be controlling tyrants but lead others by your beautiful examples to the flock. 1Pe 5:4 And when the Shepherd-King appears, you will win the victor’s crown of glory that never fades away. TPT)

A church leader should not manipulate people through some spiritual ideas and gifts into giving for personal gains. There's no exploitation in love instead, love gives and sacrifices rather than constantly taking.

Many ministers of the gospel of Jesus Christ have to go back to the basics and take away that which is not God's true intention and practice christianity according to Christ standard. What we see in this day and age is more of worship to man instead of worshipping Christ who should be our centre of worship. The essence of leading is to project Christ and not for personal gain.

Joh 21:15 After they had breakfast, Jesus said to Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you burn with love for me more than these?” Peter answered, “Yes, Lord! You know that I have great affection for you!” “Then take care of my lambs,” Jesus said.

Contentment. A virtue of safety.
This virtue of contentment is one that has somehow been played down. But it is a virtue that must be cherished and appreciated by you.

The fall of man came by reason of him not being content with all that God said were his. Instead, he wanted more, and that is always the foothold the devil capitalises on.
[Genesis 3:1-8]

Never want to have what another person has.
Be okay with who you are and love all that you are.

One day, God and I were talking, and I looked at what He was asking me to do, and to me, it felt kind of weird. Because I could not see how it would make me famous.
I remember His response to me. He said, “I did not call you to be known by others but to be known by me."

See, it is not every calling that will be honourable. That your call might seem insignificant, does not mean it is less before God.
Stop looking to another person for inspiration. Let that call of God that you heard be the ultimate motivation for you.

The Bible is full of examples of men and women who were content and those who were not.
Our Lord Jesus had to be content with His calling.
The brothers of Joseph rose against Him because of envy.
King Saul stood against David because of envy.
Cain killed Abel because of envy.
The Bible says in Proverbs 4:23 "So above all, guard the affections of your heart, for they affect all that you are. Pay attention to the welfare of your innermost being, for from there flows the wellspring of life."

Envy is fueled by covetousness. Wanting what others have.
Love you and be satisfied with who you are.

1 Timothy 6:6-7 "But godliness with contentment is great gain.
For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out."
