Singer, Ice Prince, Arrested For Assault
Nigerian singer, Ice Prince, has been arrested by the Lagos State police command, for assaulting a policeman.
The spokesperson for Lagos State police command, Benjamin Hundeyin, revealed this on Twitter on Friday.
He stated that Ice Prince abducted the policeman in his car, assaulted him, and threatened to throw him inside the Lagoon after he consented to be taken to the station.
Hundeyin said, “At 3am today, was stopped for driving without license plates. He agreed to be taken to the station. He, thereafter, abducted the police officer in his car, assaulted him and threatened to throw him in the river. He has been arrested and would be arraigned today.”

The National president of asuu,prof Emmanuel osedeke has reacted to some claims by FG, osedeke stated that since the August 16 meeting ended in a deadlock, the government had not met the union.
He stated,‘‘Nothing has changed since that time. They have not reached out to us; nobody has called us for any meeting since the two weeks we had a meeting with the minister of education.
‘‘No official letter from the governors’ forum.
The government wants to blackmail us; the minister said they wanted to use it to punish us. This thing shouldn’t go beyond 10 days. We are ready to talk, we reached an agreement and they changed it.”
‘‘Since it (the strike) does not affect them, their children are not in the schools here, it is a way of saving money. This issue would have been resolved in just two days. If they (political office holders) have their children in our schools, they will not allow it to last this long.’’

If you are invited for a job interview, at the entrance of the gate or within the Organization's premises:

3. Do not go inside and begin to chat with your phone or make unnecessary calls. Put the phone inside your bag. They could be monitoring you through the camera.
4. Avoid too much talk with fellow interviewees. Don't go there and begin to argue about the government of the day, escalated food prices and even lack of employment opportunities. Just be calm and positive.
5. Don't start praying and speaking in tongues to demonstrate your religiosity and closeness to God. Pray at home before going.
6. If they offer you Tea or food, Please reject it politely and thank them. You can take after the interview. If you take that Tea or food, you are out.
7. Don't chew gum, biscuit or anything. Go with a book and be reading it.
8. Never ever criticise your previous employer.
9. If you see somebody you know in the Organization, either as a staff or a fellow interviewee, greet him officially. Avoid creating an impression that you know him.
10. Do not appear too Poor, helpless and inferior before the interviewer. Forget about Nigeria problems, your personal and family problems. Focus on the job.
11. After the interview, put up a smiling face, thank them and leave.
In most cases, interviewers assess and score interviewees by the factors above and not necessarily by the answers they provide on paper. They'll train you eventually to do the job if they employ you.

The spokesperson for the Federal Ministry of Education, Ben Goong, has reacted to the prolonged strike action embarked by asuu,explained that the government had taken all possible steps to end the strike.
He said, “As regards the next steps, the government has already inaugurated a committee to harmonise the IPPIS, UTAS, and UP3. This will ensure that the government will pay with only one payment platform that will harmonise all the technical peculiarities.
“If you bring some demands and almost 80% have been attended to, there is no need to drag the strike anymore.
“It is unreasonable for the strike to be lingering seeing as the government has worked towards fulfilling most of the demands.”

"I walked into a hotel and after going through the menu, I ordered some food. After about 20 mins a group of guys and ladies walked in & ordered theirs. To my dismay, these folks got served first. I watched as they began to eat& laugh heartily. I even overheard one of them bragging about how connected he is to everyone in the hotel and I felt mocked . I decided to leave. Unable to take it anymore , I called the waiter. He calmly told me: "yours is a special order, being prepared by the chief chef himself. Their orders were prepared hurriedly by students on attachment because the top chefs are busy with yours Sir. That's why they were served first. Please have some juice as you wait". I calmed down & waited patiently.
Shortly after, my meal was served by 6 waiters. Unknown to me, the owner of the hotel (who happened to be an old long lost friend of mine) saw me when I entered and decided to surprise me. She changed my simple meal to a five-star meal. The party at the other table were shocked. They couldn't stop staring. Suddenly they were the ones murmuring, asking why they didn't get that kind of service and meal.
Such is life! Some people are ahead of you and are eating now, laughing at you and talking about how they are smarter, wiser and better than you, how they are well connected, blessed, have money and are enjoying life . You are waiting tirelessly wondering why it's taking so long to breakthrough, You endure mockery and humiliation. Maybe you have contemplated su***de, gone throughout depression or suffered severe mental anxiety. Do not worry! The owner of the world has seen u & doesn't want u to be served a simple meal like those making a mockery of you. You're waiting long because yours is a special meal. It takes time to prepare. And only chief chefs prepare them.
Wait for your meal and relax . When it comes that laughing party will be silenced for good."

NIGERIAN STUDENTS LOST HOPE AS ASUU ROLL OVER STRIKE
After a series of heated discussions, the Academic Staff Union of Universities has decided to extend its ongoing strike.
The decision was taken after the National Executive Council meeting at the union’s headquarters at the University of Abuja on Monday morning.
ASUU had declared the commencement of a strike on Monday, February 14, 2022, at the University of Lagos.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson of the Federal Ministry of Education, Ben Goong, in an interview, explained that the government had taken all possible steps to end the strike.

LAUTECH refutes rumored resumption
The Management of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has denied issuing any statement purportedly announcing resumption of academic activities on August 18, 2022.
The statements already going viral, allegedly signed by the Institution's Registrar, Dr. Kayode Ogunleye, did not emanate from the University Management.
Members of the public, especially parents, staff and students of LAUTECH, are therefore implored to allow leadership of the University conclude the on-going efforts at resolving issues militating against resumption of academic activities after which authentic information will be issued.

A 36-year-old woman, Stella Gilbert, has been sentenced to death by Ikeja high court for stabbing her neighbour to death, Mrs Stella Godwin, during a fight at their residence in Ajegunle, Lagos.
She collapsed on hearing the judge read her sentence, amidst tears from her friends, siblings and well-wishers... the law enforcement agents took her, infact, they carried her as she collapsed in the Court room back to the prison waiting for her ex*****on time.

Ogun state Offers Free Pediatric Surgery to 200 Children
No fewer than 200 destitute children in Ogun State will have free medical surgery, Dr. Oluwabunmi Fatungase, Chief Medical Director of Olabisi Onabanjo Teaching Hospital, Sagamu. Fatungase added that the five-day free pediatric surgery expedition is being run by the state government in partnership with Leicester Children's Hospital.

Tenant sues landlord over poor fittings, demanding reimbursement
A tenant, Raheem Olabanji, has filed a summons in Yaba Magistrates Court against his landlord, Johnny Rowuru, for refusing to reimburse rent and commissions on an office space in the Lekki area of Lagos state .
Olabanji's lawyer, Olusola Okuwobi, said his client paid N600,000 to the owner and N140,000 to the agent as instructed by the owner. However, Okuwobi said the owner failed to fix utilities in the office space, prompting Olabanji to leave four months later.
Therefore, the plaintiff requested reimbursement of N740,000.During the main investigation, Rowuru, led by his lawyer Bright Obaduemu, told the court that he had repaid the sum of N500,000 to Olabanji after he decided to terminate the lease.
He said: "After four months he said he didn't want the apartment anymore and that I should pay him back. I said I would deduct the amount equal to the months I spent using the store. He disagreed and took the matter to the Ajah Police. is not nearby so I sent my attorney to represent me.My lawyer told me they had resolved the matter and asked me to refund 500,000 naira. I was sent the account details and paid the sum of 500,000 naira as directed. Initially he said he did not receive the money but later said he received N450,000. But my bank statement showed that I had sent N500,000.
