NEVER LEAVE THAT ONE BEHIND.

In almost every class, there is always THAT ONE who is the last to grasp the lesson.

Educators term them the slow 'learners'.

Taiwo( name changed) was having difficulties grasping concepts. He would still give you that confused look when others are beaming with excitement of having learned something new.

Today I spoke with him and he affirmed his challenges.

First, I changed his seat. I understand the effect of environment on learning. I made him sit closer to the board where he could hear and see me clearly. This would help reduce distractions.

Next, I taught the same lesson using another teaching method. I understand that every child has a unique way of learning.

After all this, I let him know there's space for him at the top. You need to see the glow on Taiwo's face.

The parable of the Good Shepherd who had a hundred sheep. When one out of the hundred went missing. He set out to look for it. The shepherd didn't leave THAT ONE.

I will not leave that one behind.
