Today, I'd a great time volunteering with DUNNYS HOUSE OF INNOVATION & VOLUNTEER HUB AFRICA at Iwo Road, Ibadan, Nigeria. The goal of the project was to educate, sensitize and cleanup the community!!! We contributed to the sustainable development goals(SDGs) by ensuring a sustainable environment. We educated the members of the public on the need for proper waste disposal and made them realized that burning their wastes has an effect to the ozone layer and the environment at large (According to research, it takes 450 years for a plastic to decompose)

I had the opportunity of educating the chairman of Sango and Ojoo Garage (Mr Aje and Mr Mopol) on indiscriminate dumping of refuse. During the cleanup exercise, we made use of disposable nylons & we sorted our wastes by putting plastics aside, nylons aside, carton wastes aside and that's exactly what we also preached to them. At the end of the program, DUNNYS HOUSE OF INNOVATION collected and introduced the plastic wastes to Wastes recycling companies.

Finally, I'll like to commend my team members; the resilience and patience that they showed during this project were commendable. I feel proud and honored to share my ideas and work ethics with Volunteer Hub Africa team members; they were enthusiastic, energetic, and have a positive attitude. Without their tremendous support, we might not have been able to achieve such amount of success. VHA team set a great example of leadership, bonding, and friendship during the cause of the project. HAPPY WORLD'S CLEAN UP DAY 🎉🎉🎉

The Fashioned and Made for Excellence Foundation has successfully completed the fourth edition of its Fame Illuminate Leadership Program 2020 which impacted the lives of 2,590 underserved Public Senior Secondary School Students in 6 Local Government areas in Ibadan Oyo State.
The Fame Illuminate Program is the flagship program of the Fashioned and Made for Excellence Foundation involving leadership training, experiential activities and mentoring. It is focused on concepts on leadership, values, identity, character, purpose, active citizenship, the SDGs and empowers young people with skills required for success at school, and in Life. Akinyemi Festus was awarded the Best Team Leader & certificate of appreciation during the Award & reunion ceremony at University of Ibadan.

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal.
