*Still on humanitarian service to his people HON HARRISON AKAHOME Foundation, has donated school uniforms to some schools in Igueben LGA*.

In a statement sent to the media, *Hon Harrison* stated that one of the focuses of the foundation was to improve children’s self-esteem, emotional wellbeing and aid to learning.

“I have been talking about giving out school uniforms to those that are in need. This vision has been settled in my mind for a while, whenever I drive around and see young schoolchildren in uniforms that is not satisfactory, it beats me down emotionally and then I realised that it is time to do something about it.

“The Hon Harrison Foundation mission is to provide basic needs like school bag's, books, sandals and uniforms for children who attend government owned primary schools in Igueben but we started with some schools in Igueben Town, as we all know ‘charity begins at home’.

I grew up in a very challenging environment; my primary school uniforms were nothing to speak home about, it wasn’t up to standard, it dampened my self-esteem, I was not looking acceptable and it affected my educational performance. During my stay in primary school, I was promoted twice on trial simply because I could not concentrate on my studies. You will be surprised that things like this affect young children.

Seeing primary school pupils in uniforms that are tattered hurts me so much because I can relate to the situation, I have been there and I know how they feel.
“It gladdens my heart to know that I can do something about it, and by the grace of God this what we're doing today we are on a mission to put smiles on the faces of children by providing them with books, sandals, school uniform and many others.
