Poem tilte: Men are scum
By Nelson Joshua aka poems of NJ

Men are scum
Well there’s no problem
What about your father
Or your brother and uncles
Are they scum too?
Or are you just being partial
With your daddy issues
Or just looking for a reason to mend you broken heart
You get dumped and you blame men
I try to understand was it men that dated you
Or was it just a man
Putting the blame on an entire gender
Yet when we look
It’s cause you tried to be smart
And your problem was right at the corner
You date by day and strip by night
123 your boyfriends keep counting
I’m not blaming you
But why do you blame a gender
Calling men scum but I’m still asking
What about your father?
I know you’re hurt
But you’ve got to look at yourself too
Men are scum
Yet you still chase around men
Cause of your greed your legs keep opening
Tell yourself the truth
You like being hurt

Title: The love bird sound
By Nelson Joshua aka Poems of NJ
30032023
Dedicated to Miracle Sunday
So an angel awoke with beauty in yoke
My darling arose to my delight she wrote
I see her stars like the night that passed
I trust the love because I wear it like glove
Even in the worst of days she is best in those
See flowers blooming just as you are
And seeing treasures unfold this who you are
I love you as the stars touching the sky
You glitter, this I cannot deny
I love you just as the moon makes way for the sun
You’re my morning star shining in ways I can’t believe
I long for a holding with you alone
And truly this is all I’ve desired on a while
Breeze blows on my heart to feel your scent
This is memory making the memorial we share
As roses with thorns they attach truly I’ll stick
And if pains accompany this love
Trust that I will truly make it worth it all
Treasures unfold in different ways
And beauties with understanding
That’s why it becomes a mystery
My darling with you I found a treasure
With you, beauty unfolds every mystery
(So it's been a while I wrote)
title: Nigeria I cry for you.
By Nelson Joshua aka Poems of NJ
150232023
Dedicated to my country
Now that the faces were changed
In color from white to blue
They said it was to curb corruption
Yet they are the corrupt ones of the nation
Hoarding the pieces of our nation
As our people keep suffering in the trenches
See as the nation is in shambles
With people crying with tears on the hot sun
Praying for an opportunity to swap the naira
Where people queue for days in the banks of the nation
While fainting and crying for the hunger that’s increasing
See the protest is rising around us
I see a nation blessed
Yet it is struck in the heart with a policy
We’re placing a limitation to our nation
That our finance can no longer be accessed
And funny that now our nation is in the process
Where we buy and sell our own money within our nation
I’m in severe pains that we are the problem to our problems
And yet fail to see the solution is that United we stand
Yet the lowest with the POS tries to capitalize on the wickedness of the highest in authority
I’m laughing at our nation where we buy a thousand naira for three hundred and fifty naira and even higher
See My fears that the deaths might toll
See My fears that people instead of speaking will act in violence
See My fears that now we give them an excuse to postpone the elections
See My fears that the military might take over
See My fears that we might go to war
Title: Hidden for the Niger
By Nelson Joshua
Aka Poems of NJ

See me the blind fool
The one who was made dumb
So that my plight would not be heard
I'm in in a nation that cannot see my competence
Despite all my recompense
It's insane how we build a nation
One with lies and deceit
Blinding and breaking the youths with just a thousand naira
It's so wonderful the pains we try to endure
In a nation that seems so far gone
How do you feel when life hits you down
Well my nation has done it a thousand times
Maybe the plan was to keep me down
But I stand with men that have already dawned
To reap from this nation one last time
If I'm trying to rhyme please forgive me
But I'm telling you the truth
Because this nation is gone
With the bribery and corruption
It's no wonder we're in recession
If you get to understand what I'm saying
Trust me you will smile
Because it's all about my people online
So I try to incite the truth
For the things that appear to be hidden
TITLE: THE QUESTION OF ESSENCE
BY: NELSON JOSHUA aka POEMS OF NJ
Now what is the essence of it all
To feel the breeze breathe smoothly on me
And later have it's essence no more
In that pit sealed forever
I ask for its essence
When I feel the warmth of one's heart
And be cut away from it
In a darkness I cannot escape
So tell me, what is the essence
When I look and see the beauty of it all
Only to have it stricken away from me
As soon be caused blind in the mist
What truly is the essence?
To have loved and not be loved in return
Or even to have loved and be loved
When at the end it's all vanity
The essence I cannot explain
That a woman begots another
Into a tasking world of task
Challenging the very essence of being
So the essence of it all I ask
Why put I on a wheel
Turning round to get another beginning
A beginning that remains unforeseen to my essence
Title: The lover's Christmas sound
By Nelson Joshua AKA Poems of NJ
See the bells that jingle
So sweet and joyful
That it'll make me sprinkle
Well I think it's my single
Or probably I wanna mingle
Thinking of my damsel
Like the times we handled
With touches that ripple
And kisses that dazzle
To the pleasures I gambled
And the love I dabbled
Its the reason I'm handed
The pains I'm gazing
Understanding this crisis
So as Christmas approaches
I hope for a romance
For the nights of pleasures
And the stars that'll twinkle
For the times are nearer
And my hopes are further
Away from the altar
So knowing the other
I will place my order
As I move away
Even forever
The biggest cry I get is for inspiration.
A poet's heart
Who is Jesus to you?

L.O.V.E
I have searched for her to behold
I have found none like his own
A cross bestowed
His love he showed
How can one not uphold
"It is finished", he declared
And a new sheet he exposed
His grace i understood
That his love is my own
Free from pain and the chain
See the love i did gain
Turned the table for his own
I testify, his alone
This love i have found
Or something far from mind
I have drank of his blood
And eaten of his flesh
See me far, now am near
Broken but repaired
Sick in sin, healed with blood
O my soul he redeemed
For his love i have found
COLD HANDS
I have cried myself to sleep
Remembering the memories we had shared
But i consoled my own self
With the sweet lies that remained
Realising i would wake, with a new one every morn
Singing the same old song, i love you
I know time will tell
If we are, meant to be
But now all i want, is to be
Sticking to you like jam
But each time am like damn
Sun and moon two old lovers
We will break this our curse
Emerging in eclipse
My sweet lover on heaven's bed

VIEW THE TABLE
On the table it all goes on
With we the pawns all infront
Our kings all move on
Moving bounty to another
The rhythm of our corruption
In the jungle the prey is caught
Back to poverty, back to struggling
From 60s to coup and now they rule in shame
Rushed for independence only to be dependent in a debt so unrepentant
Woe to the Caesars and Hitlers of our time
Dictating principles of our demise
Stir the egos and shaking the cup of chaos
As they claim to be heroes
And champion us to an era of sorrow
Take a look, thats our table.
AFRICAN SOUND
Beating drum with mighty men
Dancing feets with joyous women
Happy faces with empty bellies
Clapping children under the rain
Behold my africa, awesome wonders
With blissful springs and greenish edens
Her sons stand, blackish mountains
With sands of golden-black
Her daughters with honey flowing
With pounding drums and spears of cheer
To war the anthemn they sing
Africans the midnight children
