Martin Luther King removes a burnt cross from his lawn that was placed there by the Ku Klux Klan, 1960

Prominent civil rights activist MLK is seen here with his son, removing a burnt cross from his lawn. The cross was placed there and set on fire the night before by the K*k in an attempt to scare King. Other African-Americans experienced the same intimidation tactics that same evening.

King endured years of harassment during his campaign for equal rights for African Americans. His participation was so stressful that during his autopsy, it was discovered that he had the heart of a 60-year-old man, despite only being 39 at the time of his death.

King is probably most famous for his iconic speech "I have a dream," which is considered one of the most famous speeches of all time. We will let you read a small excerpt from it here:

"I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed. We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal.

I have a dream that one day out in the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slaveowners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.

I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice."

King was assassinated in 1968 while out supporting a worker's rally. He was just 39 years old.

Despite dying at a young age, King's efforts in getting recognition of the struggles of African Americans has solidified itself in not only American but Global history. Today, on January 15th, his legacy is celebrated and remembered, and it inspires people, both young and old, to fight the evil entity that exists in our society,

A Viking era ring inscribed with the words 'for Allah', found in the grave of a woman who was buried 1200 years ago in Birka, 25 km west of modern-day Stockholm. The ring constitutes a unique material evidence of direct contact between the Vikings and the Abbasid Caliphate.

In 1960, David Latimer planted a spiderwort sprout inside of a large glass bottle, added a quarter pint of water, and then sealed it shut. He opened the bottle 12 years later in 1972 to add some water and then sealed it for good. The self contained ecosystem has flourished for more than 60 years.

For those who are wondering how this is even possible: the garden is a perfectly balanced and self-sufficient ecosystem. The bacteria in the compost eats the dead plants and breaks down the oxygen that is released by the plants, turning it into carbon dioxide, which is needed for photosynthesis. The bottle is essentially a microcosm of earth.

The Abeokuta Women's Revolt (also called the Egba
Women's Tax Riot ) was a resistance movement led by the
Abeokuta Women's Union (AWU) in the late 1940s against
the imposition of unfair taxation by the Nigerian colonial
government.

Located in southwest Nigeria and inhabited by the Yoruba ,
Abeokuta was established in 1830 and was primarily home
for the Egba and Owu people. Around 1850, the British
colonial government began to extend its control into
Abeokuta and negotiate treaties with the native Egba . The
treaty agreement granted the British open trade routes
through the Egba territory "in exchange for the Lagos
government’s recognition of the town’s independence and
borders." [1] This treaty had given the Egba people relative
autonomy over their own economics, but ultimately, the
British government found a means to intervene in the
autonomous structure after a political crisis in 1897. [1] The
British government demanded a reorganization of the
town's political structure, and thus, the Egba United
Government (EUG) was created. Prior to the new structure,
local councils traditionally included at least one female. [1]
The EUG, by contrast, was exclusively male, but began
developing Abeokuta's political and economic
infrastructure. [1] The EUG invested in the infrastructure and
the economy, building roads and markets and increasing
exports of items such as cocoa, palm oil, kola nuts, and
indigo-dyed cloth.[1] By the late 1800s, Abeokuta had
emerged as an economic center in colonial Nigeria and
remained relatively independent.

Òrólè and Olósùnta Hills of Ikere
These two hills are located at Northern and southern parts
of the town "Ikere Ekiti" respectively. They are both steep-
sided hills. These two hills are the largest hill so far in Ekiti
state. These are good resort centres for Tourists to visit
and see for themselves what God has done in Ikere and
for the State of Honour, Fountain of Knowledge. There are
deities in charge of these two hills. Both are worshiped
accordingly.
In line with the belief of the people of this town the
Olósùnta and Òrólè deities reside in the hills
respectively. Both deities are credited with some feats
such as provision of children to barren women and
protection of Ikere from warfare. They are believe to be
responsible for the welfare of the town. Ikere Ekiti is
usually described as the only unconquered town in Ekiti
during the popular inter-tribal wars.
Orole Hill
History has it that, a long time ago, when Orole (“Oro-Ile”
meaning “story of the land”) was known to be a low-lying
rock outcrop, the people of Oyo Kingdom rose up to
attack Ikere Kingdom. The people of Oyo Alaafin wanted
to capture and sell the people of Ikere to White men as
slaves.
Just before the Oyo soldiers gained entry into Ikere’
enclave, they became very tired and hungry and decided
to stop and take some rest on a small yam plantation
where Orole was located.
They dug out yam tubers they found on the farm and
feasted on them. As they stood up to attack the enclave
of Ikere, the Orole began to rise out of the ground(while
they were still on it) and before they realised what was
happening, the were carried up to a height of about 1000
ft. Orole rose into a gigantic inselberg, so big and steep
they couldn’t descend it.
It was told that they tried escaping from the trap by tying
their clothes together in pieces to use as ropes, but it
amounted to futility. They decided to commit su***de by
jumping off the inselberg.
Every year, the people of Ikere-Ekiti offer sacrifices to
Orole Inselberg in or

Building and securing browser-based apps has always been a challenge. Development is much easier these days, with far better technical choices than we had only a decade ago. There are also fewer incompatibilities between browser vendors and some great JavaScript and CSS frameworks that allow us to build modern frontend web experiences.

However, browser security remains a challenging area of web development. Threats such as cross-site scripting (XSS) are a major concern, and a secure development life cycle must be followed to prevent them. Robust and extensible user authentication also must be implemented, including the use of security libraries for your technology stack. All of this effort can be difficult for companies that just want to focus on their business functionality.
