NEW STORY ALERT⚠️
Chapter one: My Reasons Were Apt
In a sad dubbed atmosphere, she was laid vehemently on the bed, feeling uncomfortable and cramped at a time.
She was dressed in a virtually transparent black veil, and a striking bow was knotted at the edge of the veil, which gave her a bewailing look.
A touch of red lip rose. She had a scintillating smooth skin and a nice curve to foil it. Her name was Serah.
She has been blindfolded by a black gauze. Her nervousness could still be captured, even from the tight silk quilt hands. One could tell she was very nervy.
The door opened and the cumbersome cruel man walked in, clothed with a black cloak.
Every footstep he places on the floor was terrifying, making so much noise.
She eavesdropped to the air, and felt the man stopped for some time, and moved closer again, but this time, sluggishly without a sound of his Italian heavy cover shoes. Her nervousness grew to a wider range. She had prayed for her life, so much untold emotions and trepidation.
He stood right before her, folding his arms to the back.
He je**ed his head slowly, and the two mean men who stood by her side walked away.
“Serah”. He whispered as he nestled, even closer to her. The uncontrollable sweat that rallied out of her body really expresses how caged and uncomfortable she was.
“Who are you? What do you want?” Serah asked with a plea on her tone.
He gets his fingers on her chin, gently patting her tiny lower lips, which had a touch of rosy lip rose.
"Please stop" She sobbed in shakiness as he amplified the pressure of his hands on her unstopping self.
"Please, I beg you, don’t hurt me”. She cried out, sounding helpless and desponded.
He didn’t seem like a gentle chap, he never said a word in all her cries. “Please don’t hurt me” she continued to plea
Lami strode closer to her and appropriated away the pall covering her sight.
"Stop screaming dear, no one is going to hear you?" He whispered close to her ears, making her tremor the more.
“What do you want” she asked after being unveiled. “What I want is not as important as what I’m going to do to you”. Lami articulated, heading back to the settee where he sat
Serah knew she was in somber woe after finding out who it was. Lami had engaged her, few weeks before she backfired her decision and called off the engagement.
“You think you can play with my emotions and go Scott free?:. Asked Lami, who has just taken off his black double breasted coat.
“Lami, cheated on me, you had an affair with my baby sister Tanko”. She asserted with a bit of courage in her countenance.
Tanko was not perfect, but she was clean enough that the Lami’s family wanted her in their home. It happened one of those tipsy days of hers that she accidentally ran on bed with Lami, her sister’s fiancée.
The chapter two will be posted here tomorrow. Give this a thumbs if you felt it soupcon 👍
SCHOOL ISN’T SCAM!!
“Our minds are like muscles, whether shrink or stretch, it all depends on how much or little we exercise it” – Franklin Benjamin.
Regardless of the lack of employment opportunities in our nation, more parents still wants their progenies to enroll in formal education. They nit-picked about same thing “lack of jobs after graduation”, but they still want their wards to attend a maximal standard of education. This is to buttress the matter-of-factly that schooling is one of the global roadmap and cradle of succeeding.
Education fortifies people with information, right and exact information, morals, even skills and veracious idiosyncrasy.
EDUCATION/WISDOM- CONTRAST
It is very apt to segregate knowledge (education) and wisdom. These two varies from having a default or designed kind of values, intellectual and technical skills. People borne with wisdom, that is the commonsense instilled in them naturally. Knowledge comes from education, society and religion.
It is the attainment of ultimate awareness about the perspective of living well. Wisdom is the understanding and responsiveness of human nature. Everyone has it.
People do say “knowledge is power”, but that is just a statement of fact, not necessarily the truth. Knowledge itself is information, it is impending power and becomes predominantly power when acted upon.
Learning is more like having a meal, what counts is how much you digest, how nutritious you do and not how much you eat.
What Nigeria lacks might not be averagely jobs, but broad based education... That is, an educational layout that helps interns to not only build their intellectual skills, but same way develop a sustainable technical and mental skills that enables them to survive at all time, like a fruit without season.
Education only embraces the following;
Cultivating strength
Learning self-discipline
Listening
Eagerness to hear, right information.
Ever asked yourself why more illiterates succeed almost the same measures with graduates? You might ponder on that recurrently, but sadly might not be able to diagnose the root.
The brain behind being a successful person is tied down to the 4Ds of life: Determination, Dedication, Discipline and Destination. Being a successful person is not so much embedded in the quantum of certificates and academic qualification one amasses for his/herself.
If we want to talk about richest men in our African society, a good number of them are illiterates, stalky illiterates. But how are they making affluences, waves and excels? Because these ones considered the finishing of the 4Ds aforementioned.
However , illiteracy is not typicaly not going to school, but to this context it is not gettgetting basic enlighenlightenment, possible awareness about certain things that concerns livelihood entirely.
While you were attending lectures, doing assignments and having night classes…they were practically somewhere making sales, farming, doing trade, importing and disseminating goods, opening brands in various locale, expanding their already existing businesses, losing money in investments and trying again. Does this shakes your nerves? No, it shouldn’t, but are you going to judge it from that angle?
DEREK MOK opines “if you think education is expensive, try ignorance”. Education is paramount in everyone’s life. It is the basis of livelihood. I’ve watched a child said to her mom “Mam, you need to go back to school, try evening class to revitalize your state of mind and cognitive”. I felt bad about the statement, but should I? School teaches you a lot more than you can naturally learn from your parents, peers and religion. It is beyond having a good home training, somewhat.
CHOICES AND COMPROMISES
One unbeatable truth is that our choices in life promulgates how well or bad we do in life. You see cases in this 21s-t century where a person goes to learn maintenances of a Motorola cellphone. Like seriously, that breed of phone is no longer useable in this century, going to learn repairs of bicycles and motorcycles in an epoch majority (80%) uses cars is really devastating.
Some will even study a course that is not relevant in their state-of-nation. Why on earth will a Nigerian go studying Animal Science, Zoology , oceanography, Animal husbandry. No shades, these courses are of high demands, but how many menageries, how many job opportunities do we have on ground for these fields of study, how many establishment and industries are in need of such services?. Ask yourself first!
THE SPECIOUS PERCEPTION
“Not everyone were meant to make it over school”….. Same were some not preordained to make it without school. This could only be an excuse out of fate, but that statement can never be true. If it was, how would you know the few or more meant to make it in any of these?
Truth is that you can always make it in either of them, you just need that right mentality, information saddled with the 4Ds to get it all. They’re restraints people unwittingly place before themselves, those restraints decides how far they go in life. Pessimism and excuses are self-eating and vile, avoid it.
In a personal study , more than 70% of university graduates are directly the other extreme to TGP mentioned earlier. Total Quality People: They’re people with values, discipline and determination.
At the tail end, you’ll discover that a university or any higher institution only instils intellectual, maybe a particle of technical skills in their interns, but the costs of progressing, even exploiting in those instilled intellects is at every person’s will. They give you the hook, fetch the fishes.
Winston Churchill asserted “the first duty of the university is to teach knowledge, right cognitive and character, not technicalities”. That is to validate that one enrolling his/herself in higher education should initially be encumbered with the availability of integrals to subsist with or without jobs.
One who could survive in any atmosphere due to prepositioning of strategies.
You hear about advanced countries paying graduates for unemployment, but it’s not so in our country.
2024- INVEST IN YOURSELF
A study of Harvard University has proven that human being is the most valuable asset. Nigeria cannot be equated to any of those developing countries simply because those countries invest in their most valuable asset, which is “individuals” whereas Nigeria invests in their personal satisfaction.
Not that U.S do not steal money, but a disguise about termite eating up money and a python who swallows a mammoth amount of money hasn’t ever been broached up. I don’t know if we’re too dumbfounded or daffy to believe in this ineffectual lie. They think so!
Dear readers…the times are hard, turbulent and demanding, you have to step up and explore as the world is going. Try and monetize whatever service you can render accurately and adroitly. Explore, renovate in whatever you do, the world is rapidly evolving and changing.
I’m not in any way against schooling, self-employment or having a trade. But either of them works greatly for any individual with the right information at the right time. At present, there’s just little job opportunity earmarked for slated persons, some not even graduates as it is happening in the North.
Greedy charlatans, heartless, self-seeking and egocentric giants had covered the light, it is not just possible to see the shine, but one with the rightful information can always see it shine through. It is a country where hard work could be easily engulfed by smart work.
You have to fight tooth and nail to make yourself proud, your family and whoever concerned. You have to step out every day to put food on your table, pay your bills and necessities. But regardless of all this, the right mindset speaks louder than education. You have to understand that education and success take different form. You can either succeed in schooling or running a personal business, even merging the two together. But the two cannot be dispossessed in the course of living.
Hope this helps. Stay safe💚
