Interstate travels are one of the usual practice for performing musicians in Nigeria and elsewhere;
for social gigs, religious ministrations or other musical engagements.
Such was the case for a group of six young men who went On The Road on a Black Friday, 11th of March 2011 (11/03/11).
Read the survivor's account of half the guys never got back alive as told by Diméjì Ọ̀násànyà in the book "On The Road."

You made your exit like you never came,
And I bade my farewell quieter than same.
Big deal? NO! 'til you wanted near
So long. Adios! Bye!! Ciao!!! X Y Zear.
ENDURING LEGACY: A Musician's Perspective.
After missing playing the 60th birthday gig of the wife of a Nigerian president by whiskers, it never occurred to me that I will eventually put in about 2 decades of work in the Music Ministry of the same Church opposite the celebrant's house.
The musical reputation of New Estate Baptist Church, Surulere goes several thousand miles ahead and even this day I can not totally shake of the surrealism as I have a tête à tête with one of the most prominent figures.
In the few earliest days I heard about Ms. Majorie Cassanova (wonder why a missionary's name could be the same used to qualify a philandering male) and even saw an announcement of her departure from this terrestrial ball in a Church bulletin. The exploits of Pastor Tom Takpatore in making well grounded musicians out of my senior colleagues were also told in nostalgic folklore and I personally experienced the leadership, forthrighness, dedication, expertise and camaraderie of Revd. Dr. Yésìdé Osiase, Revd. Joel Akin Dare & Messrs. Tọpẹ Philips Ọmọle, Alex Taiwo Mojimoniyi and Felix Eboh.
If you miss being sated by the proverbial pounded yam you cannot miss the fear gripping effect its enormity
I was mesmerized by the presence of the indefatigable Deacon Ọlalekan Dosunmu and the quintessential Mr. Theophilus Okang in a rehearsal atmosphere; an experience I am yet to recover from even as I write this.
While sitting at the Church's Physis Ouverture organ, Mr. Okang went on to give me a rare audience of his time. Reliving the NEBC experience and sharing wisdom on how musicians should conduct themselves even in a Church setting.
An Enduring Legacy.

You cannot afford to miss the narrative as put together in a short book.
If man be God o,
some people for chop sand o;
the almighty plan o,
e no dey we hand o pororo!
- Sunny Neji (Tolotolo)
If we are not careful, we would continually inherit and bequeath a society that is unfair, unkind and cruel to the feminine gender.

Honey is a sweet, viscous food substance made by honey bees and some related insects. Bees produce honey from the sugary secretions of plants or from secretions of other insects, by regurgitation, enzymatic activity, and water evaporation. Bees store honey in wax structures called honeycombs.
@ Lagos, Nigeria
Once upon a time when the act, admittance or a hint of the use of "ọṣẹ àbùwẹ̀" (locally made bathing soap) castigates, relegates and invites an unwholesome stratification socially, economically and "spiritually"; to the point of earning a "fe**sh" tag.
These days, we all know how - for various reasons - the tide has turned so much that the bourgeois and Africans in diaspora have found their favourite in the "stone which the builders reject."
LESSON: Stick to your guns with regards to whatever works for you because life is a cycle. The rule and the exception have fleeting positions.
With agreement of hearts and wits
A dogged determination of minds and spirits,
Undeterred by the dearth of gears and space,
We boldly decree, " O ye gates..."
Unbridled by the virus waging wars
We command the ancient doors.
"Lift Up Your Heads!"
"And be ye lifted"

We can talk it through and you'd find out it's not as bad as you think it is.

How time flies.
Indeed time flies faster than the Aérospatiale/BAC Concorde.
It's been a whole year we brought "Total Package" to the airwaves and I can say it - with gratitude to God and you - that it has been and it is still an awesome experience.
Within the year, God brought some acquaintances my way that I had the opportunity of sharing the work with and their honest critique has given me both joy and a push to do much more.
As I write this, Total Package is played at least twice in a week in some places outside the shores of Nigeria and my contacts tell me - in diverse ways - the same story about anyone encountering the song for the very first time.
Even the people who do not understand the two languages the song is delivered in still go with the flow and say this must be an African serenade.
Many thanks to Adédèjì, Wálé Akíndíyà, Ṣeun Adéwálé Adéyẹmí and the creative genius of Ídówú Adébáyọ̀ (ID Tones) I would still work with you guys again and in another life if God permits us after this.
I also appreciate you all for even trying to check out what this small boy is doing with his little musical experience.
There has been two recurring questions from people about "Total Package" and I will be answering them within the next two days.
I have a definite answer about one, but with the other, I will do my very best.

I got my very first birthday greetings and proclamation of blessings with the exceptionally impactful thunderclap and with joy and gratitude I received.
Then the calls, messages, prayers, well thought out write-ups, accolades, freshly composed songs, panegyrics, poems, etc followed up.
Thank God for the Grace to have overcome more than 75% of emotionally triggered tears, I would have needed another phone this morning.
YOU TOUCHED MY CORE!
The pandemic has made us to apply some stringent austerity measures but I know of some of my friends who rushed to subscribe so they could contribute their quota. I will never take that for granted.
This is the message I have for you:
No evil shall befall us,
The angel of light shall illuminate our path;
While we conquer the darkness in His name.
Under the shadow of the wings of our Lord,
There we shall dwell, sing and proclaim the wonderful redemption story.

Here's Everlasting God's promise,
Perpetual light on our premise;
Paraclete, our help from above;
We appreciate Your help in love.
"Èdìdí ìyè la mú wá fún ayé,
Ìtùnú ọ̀rọ̀, ìlérí Ọlọ́run;
Oore ọ̀fẹ́ ògo, la mú wá fún ayé o."
That was the signature tune on Bàbá G.O. Fákẹ́yẹ's weekend TV broadcasts that I grew up with and those messages did shape me.
I later met a friend about 3 years ago who had a mutual interest in the CSMC music and we overplayed this album on phone till the subject matter ministered to me and this portion of the music got me hook, line and sinker.
The message is not different from what God is saying to us via "Ẹ̀mí Ọ̀run" by Solomon Fashola
The Lord has healed our land already.
