*NYERERE ANYIM COMMISERATES WITH VICTIMS OF WATERSIDE-BRIDGE ACCIDENT, THE GOVERNOR AND GOVERNMENT OF ABIA STATE*

The Federal Commissioner Representing the South-East at the National Pension Commission, Dr. Nyerere Anyim has commiserated with victims of waterside-bridge accident, Governor Alex Otti and the Government of Abia State over the November 15th Ghastly accident that occurred at the waterside-Bridge in the Ogbor-Hill Axis of Aba.

In a statement personally signed by him, he said;

“My heart goes out to the family of the individual who lost his life and others who sustained various degrees of injury in that regrettable accident. May God grant them the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss and grant the wounded swift healing”.

“I commend Governor Alex Otti, and the state government for stepping-in to take care of the hospital bills of the victims, as well as the suspension of truck movement during the day and other steps the government has taken with respect to the incident. But they shouldn’t stop there. It is long overdue to solve the infrastructural deficit of the waterside bridge and its surrounding axis, and I do hope that the state government will take proactive steps towards this and prevent further occurrences of such preventable accident”.

NYERERE ANYIM THANKS PRESIDENT TINUBU, APC FOR APPOINTING ABIA SONS AND DAUGHTERS, ASKS FOR MORE.

The first South-East Zonal Chairman of the APC and 2015 Gubernatorial candidate of the party in Abia, has expressed his gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Appointing Abia Sons and Daughters in his government.

Speaking to the Press over the weekend, Dr. Nyerere recalled the genesis of the struggle of the APC especially in Abia state where many of them sacrificed so much to plant the APC in the South-East Geopolitical Zone, and win elections with the party.

“It was a fierce battle that deprived most of us our comfort, security and put us at grave danger and attack by the PDP led government in the region as at then, but thank God today the APC has come to stay in the South East, many Igbos sons and daughters are now seeing the vision we saw in 2014, have joined the APC massively and accepted that the APC has come to stay and stands to benefit the Southeast region more than any other political party”.

“Am happy the Deputy Speaker of the House of Reps is from Abia, we also have a Minister from Abia, one of the Board members of the Northeast Development Commission is also from Abia, but we demand for more, and I appeal to President Tinubu to consider our request. There are Many Abia sons and Daughters that led the APC battle at great personal risk and loss, and most of them should be considered for appointment as they have sacrificed immensely for the party”.

Out of the 5 South East states, the APC already controls 2 states whose governors are performing excellently. The APC also has more elected senators under the party in the south East region than any other party in the zone. What that tells you is that SouthEast is now fully an APC controlled geopolitical region and I have no doubts that come 2027 general elections the APC will win the remaining state Governorships and other elective positions.

At this point, what the party in the zone now needs is massive support from the President Tinubu led Federal Government. We need more of the party faithfuls to be appointed in to key positions in the federal government, and We need more Federal infrastructural development for the region.

DEAR ABIA APC, WE ARE CLOSER THAN WHEN WE FIRST BEGAN - NYERERE ANYIM

In 2014, we started a movement to liberate our people from political quagmire and perpetual underdevelopment. That movement led us to the formation of the All Progressive Congress of which I became its first South-East Zonal Chairman and later the Governorship candidate for the 2015 Gubernatorial election in Abia State.

As at then, our message to our people was that, the era of the PDP has come to an end, and there was the need for us to join a National party and be fully integrated in mainstream National Politics instead of to remain in a sinking ship that has led our people to nowhere.

Unfortunately not all of us shared and understood that message and vision, but the few of us who did were convinced beyond every reasonable doubt of the message and vision and we stood fervent on those convictions.

Fast forward to today; a son of Abia is now the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and the 6th most powerful person in the country under the APC led government, a daughter of Abia has also been appointed Minister of the Federal Republic, and more appointments will come.

To all APC members in Abia state, I urge you all to remain committed to our party. The message and vision of 2014 that led us to join the APC remains consistent and clear, and we are now closer to its full actualization than when we first began.

COMMISIONING OF HOMES BUILT FOR INDIGENT FAMILIES- My Little Efforts in Community Development

Shelter is a basic necessity for humanity, as it guarantees the basic protection and security. Unfortunately, there are many in our society who cannot afford a roof over their head. As such, humanity therefore demands that the privileged in the society should support the less privileged with this basic necessity.

Over a decade now, my foundation (Nyerere Anyim Foundation) have through its “Home for the Homeless programme” been building houses for indigent citizens across our state, and just as the year 2021 came to an end, we handed over two newly built houses ( two bedroom and five bedroom bungalows respectively)to two indigent families in our community, the one ones are about to be completed in a matter of days.

As we begin the year 2022, we will do more. It’s the Divine mandate we have with our creator.

COMMISSIONING OF ULTRA MORDEN PALM OIL PROCESSING PLANT - My Little Contributions to Community Development

In response to the cries of the women of Agburuike isi-ugwu community, over the lack of a morden oil mill, within the community to enable them process their palm harvests, and earn higher income in the sales of this agricultural cash crop, which has been a huge sources of financial income to families in various communities across southern Nigeria (Pre, and Post Colonialism), my foundation (NYERERE ANYIM FOUNDATION), embarked on the construction of an Ultra Modern palm oil processing plant in Agburuike Isi-ugwu community of Obingwa L.G.A of Abia State.

This effort was geared towards;

1. Increasing the adding value of the harvested crops; as initially before we embarked on this intervention project, the women having no other option to maximally process their harvested palm fruits, sold them off at a very cheap price, which wasn’t worth the stress they go through during the harvest. But with the construction of the mill, the women can now process their palm fruits for maximum oil yield, sell at a higher price, and still have the end products such as the chaff and kernel for further processing and sales to other end users/consumers.

2. Reducing the stress of going to faraway communities (in some cases traveling to nearby communities in Akwa-ibom state), in search of oil processing mills for their palm harvest. But with the construction of this ultra modern palm oil processing mill, such risky and stressful journeys have been cut short, as the women can now harvest and process their palm products in their community, while earning higher income from the sales of the processed palm products with less stress and zero cost of production.

The oil mill comes with;

A drilled borehole, with treated overhead tanks, for the supply of clean and portable drinking water within and outside the mill

Storage building for the storage of yet to be processed palm fruits, and already processed palm products

Living quarters for the mill workers

Fenced and secured environment

Electricity supply

In the forthcoming months, we look forward to;

Providing solar power, as an alternative source of electricity in the mill

Attaching a cottage industry that will utilize the end products of the processed palm fruits, to produce other high value products like soap, detergents, cream, wax, animal feed, etc.

A select number of youths from the community, who will be directly employed in the cottage industry, will soon be drafted for the requisite skill training, as we look towards creating jobs for our teaming unemployed youths, as well as building an income base for our communities through these sorts of cottage industries, and intervention projects.

I sincerely wish to thank individuals and groups who supported us assiduously to achieve this project. May God bless us all.

2021 DIVINE AGENDA UNITY CUP began today Wednesday 15th December, 2021 with opening match :owoahiafor vs Umuopara amuzu the match ended 2:0 in favor of owoahiafor

15/12/2021

The theme of the 17th Edition of the Divine Agenda Unity Cup (DAUC) is; Sports, Skill and Empowerment, and we intend to support some outstanding players through our Sportpreneurship Programme.

I will be on ground with my people all through the tournament as I hope to hold interactive sessions with our youths.

Join us at the sports venue let’s support our youths.

14/12/2021

For the past 17 years, I have consistently organized and funded the Divine Agenda Unity Cup (DAUC), as my individual contribution to unlocking the sporting talent and potentials of our youths at the grassroot level.

As a lover of sports, am convinced, just as global events have proven that there are so much opportunities for our youths in the sports sector.

Sports overtime have proven that its not only for entertainment, but also a Unifier, and job creator. Therefore it’s a sector we must pay more attention to its growth and development, especially at the government level.

Through our Local Divine Agenda Unity Cup organized annually, the sporting talents of our youths at the grassroots level have been uplifted, empowered, and encouraged to go higher in pursuit of a career in the sporting sector. Over these years testimonies of benefactors abound, and am always happy to receive some of these youth benefactors, when they meet me to testify of how the opportunity we provided for them through DAUC to display their talents have taken them to where they are today. Some of them were so lucky to be immediately picked up by our European partners whom we usually invite to observe the games. Today they are in Europe playing in the football teams there. I can only say Glory be to God.

But we can still do more for our youths, and will continue to do more for them in this sector. So as we once again organize the 17th Edition of DAUC, I welcome our youths from every nook and cranny of our beloved state to come and participate.

My NGO; the Nyerere Anyim Foundation is willing and ready to empower talents as we have always done, and to equally sponsor the best amongst these talents to whatever height they will need in their career push. Be it to Europe or Asia wherever the sporting talent may take our youths to, we are ready to sponsor and support them.

Finally, it’s worthy to note that it was around this time in 2003 that our very own, the maverick Enyimba FC (The Pride of Abia), smashed the Ismaily Football Club of Egypt 2-1, to win the CAF Champions League, thereby becoming the first Nigerian Football club to win the CAF League. On that Day History was made, and Enyimba made us proud.

Abia youths only needs a little opportunity to shine, and prove themselves in any given field. In my life time, I have never seen a people so talented and industrious like ‘Umu Aba’. All we need do is consistently encourage and support our youths and then watch them soar, break barriers, and make us and our beloved state proud.

To Every Abia Youth out there, am proud of you, your best is yet to come. Keep your heads high, work hard, and hold strong to your dreams. Your breakthrough will come.

God Bless his state, Abia.

Compliments of the season.

NYERERE ANYIM SALUTES NIGERIA AT 61

I wish to commend the resilience of every Nigerian, which has kept us thus far as a country, and today we are 61; a journey that has pulled at the most sensitive points of our respective ethnic nationalities, peace and progress. But somehow the Nigerianess in us has always got us going.

At 61, the topic of “Breaking Away” should no longer be on our National discus, but rather we should be discussing ways to strengthen our unity, and improve on our national development and progress. We are a blessed nation, our collective natural and human resources remains a blessing to us all when harnessed for national development.

Nation Building is a collective responsibility, and therefore is not the sole responsibility of President Muhammadu Buhari or any individual. Therefore we must at all times rise above petty sentiments and divisive politics, and give our President the needed support for our country to succeed. Its not about him, but about the collective good and development of our country. As such, its in our interest that he succeeds rather than fail; because as the driver of our Nation’s affairs, his failure is our failure, and his success is our success too.

Regarding the hydra-headed security challenges facing us as a country, this is a time to come forth with our unalloyed patriotism to our country, and give maximum support to our security agencies to carry-out their constitutional duties. Security is everyone’s business, and its of utmost importance to the growth and development of any country. When security fails and we slide into anarchy, its our collective growth and development that suffers. Nothing thrives in a state of anarchy, it breaches every social parameter, and our sense of belonging, and security goes with it. No one is safe until everyone is safe. The cost of anarchy and insecurity at any point in time, far outweighs that of peace and security. So we must continue to pray and support our troops to defeat the insurgency and banditry in the North, as well as every other security challenge across the country, because a threat to the peace of any part of this country is a threat to the collective peace and security of the rest of the country.

In our 61 years of existence as an independent country, we are currently undergoing an unprecedented level of infrastructural revolution, under the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration. The benefits of these capital infrastructural developments are limitless. For any nation to develop and industrialize, infrastructure remains basic and therefore is not an issue we should politicize. I therefore appreciate our indefatigable father of the nation, His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari, for his giant strides in infrastructural developments across our country. May God almighty continue to give him the wisdom to keep acting in our best interest.

No doubt, these are trying times for our Nation, and the world at large. But we must persevere. This is a time to build, and not a time to destroy. We must come together to consolidate on our gains and override our losses and not exacerbate the situation. Together we stand, divided we fall.

God Bless Nigerians
God Bless the Federal Republic
Happy Independence

NYERERE ANYIM SALUTES ABIA AT 30, SAYS THERE IS ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT.

I join the government and entire citizens of our dear state, Abia in celebrating the 30th Anniversary of our state.

At 30, Abia has truely come of Age, and therefore calls for a retrospect on our journey so far as a state.

Are we where we are supposed to be as a state at 30 today?

At 30, the state of our infrastructure certainly does not reflect the years of Democratic Governance Abia has experienced, especially when compared to other states in the country. We are still way behind most states that were created same time as ours, and so we must refocus and invest more on the infractstructural development of our state to tally with the current realities witnessed within our neighboring states and perhaps surpass them.

We must heighten our economic prospects, and make conscious efforts to harness the dormant economic potentials in our state to meet the recent economic realities in our country, create more jobs to engage our youths and increase our developmental stride across every sector in the state.

We mustn’t neglect our currently serving and retired civil servants and pensioners, whom in their years of service, made exceeding sacrifice in working for the growth, development and administration of our state. We must pay them what’s due to them and care for them now more than ever before.

Like I earlier said, “There is room for improvement, and we must continue to improve on what we have at hand while exploring new frontiers”

God Bless his Own State

God Bless Abia

God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria
