Dear sew mate
we are all seeing those dresses on people and all admire them wishing we are able to make dresses like that I mean the corset, dart manipulation, paneled dresses and those the owanbe style.
Let's take a chill pill.
I want us to put much energy in learning the basics don't try skiping anything. Give your self to learning. When you are corrected take to the correction and move on. Don't beat yourself up because you make a mistake no one grows that way.
Invest your time, invest your energy and of course invest your money. All this are what will be added together to make you grow fast in your fashion journey.
I hope you find this helpful

TIPS ON SEWING MACHINE MAINTENANCE
Do you know?
Your sewing machine will sew perfectly for many years if it is given proper care. It may need to be adjusted or a part may need to be replaced, but a sewing machine that is given proper maintenance and cleaned regularly seldom “wears out.”
There are just two basic maintenance required for sewing machines:
- Cleaning &
- Oiling (lubricating)
Many problems are caused by dust, lint, or thread ends that have accumulated on the working parts of the machine.
Simply brushing lint and dust from the machine each time it is used is a good way to prevent many problems.
A soft nylon brush will come in handy in cleaning your sewing machine. Primarily, focus on cleaning the bobbin case region, under the needle plate, and around the feed dog.
I noticed that there are some who are often scared of loosing/removing any part of their sewing machine. I understand your fears. However, you have eliminate that fear if you'll learn to keep your sewing machine safe and sound.
My responsibility is to teach you the "carefulness" involved. So if you follow my lead, you won't make mistakes.
As you clean the machine, clean one area at a time. Remove only the parts that are involved and be sure to note where each part is from and its position.
In conclusion, let me reiterate the areas to focus on while cleaning.
- Needle plate area (this includes the feed dog)
- Bobbin case area (this includes the shuttle hook)
- Hand wheel (check the neck for accumulation of dirt and thread ends)
I do hope you'll implement this as you resume work today. I'm sure it'll help you if you do.
