Sumerians Looked to the Heavens as They Invented the System of Timeโฆ And We Still Use it Today. One might find it curious that we divide the hours into 60 minutes and the days into 24 hours - why not a multiple of 10 or 12? Put quite simply, the answer is because the inventors of time did not operate on a decimal (base-10) or duodecimal (base-12) system but a sexagesimal (base-60) system. For the ancient Sumerian innovators who first divided the movements of the heavens into countable intervals, 60 was the perfect number. The number 60 can be divided by 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 12, 15, 20, and 30 equal parts. Moreover, ancient astronomers believed there were 360 โโdays in a year, a number which 60 fits neatly into six times. The Sumerian Empire did not last. However, for more than 5,000 years the world has remained committed to their delineation of time.

Ancient Hunnic coin, Kashmir Smast region

The Scythian Huns were a confederation of various tribes that came together under one banner. They were led by powerful chieftains, who often waged war for territory and resources. Their society was based on a hierarchy, with the leaders and warriors at the top, followed by the common people and slaves.
The Scythian Huns were a fusion of several different nomadic peoples, including the Scythians and the Huns, Sarmatians, Alans and other Iranian groups.
Today, the Scythian Huns are remembered as one of the most powerful and influential nomadic empires in history. Their legacy can be seen in the language and culture of the modern-day descendants of the Huns, such as the Magyars of Hungary.

4,500 year old quartz crystal dagger with ivory hilt. Found in a Copper Age-era tomb in Valencina de la Concepciรณn, Spain
This unique Assyrian ivory plaque, a masterpiece of artistry from around 900-700 BC, portrays a lioness attacking an African. Originating in Ashurnasirpal II's Northwest palace in Kalhu, Assyria, it depicts the lioness biting the African's throat as he wears a gold-leaf kilt and gilt-topped ivory pegs for his curly hair. The background showcases lotus and papyrus flowers with lapis lazuli and carnelian accents. Adorning the lioness's forehead is a lapis lazuli spot. The plaque has two square mortice holes at the top with the 'alephโ in West Semitic script and two rectangular holes with another 'aleph' at the base. Originally part of furniture, it's now exhibited in the British Museum in London
