The Director Women, Ministry of Women Affairs Cross River State with Dr. Blessing Ntamu put out a strong word Against Violence meted out on Women and Girls.
Ministry of Women Affairs in Collaboration with FIDA, FHI, UNFPA, CCCRN, Springs of Life Organization for Women and the Girl child and Other's Walk to End Violence Against Women and Girls.
Good morning highly esteemed educators, parents and stakeholders. This is just a timely outcry to school owners, principals and teachers to stop telling students not to tell their parents what happens in school. It is an unbecoming trend. My daughter was bullied, she reported to us. I went to school to make a formal report to the authorities. The Vice Principal told my daughter right before me never to report anything that happens in school at home again. She should report to them, they can handle it. I screamed at her immediately and told her never to tell my daughter that kind of nonsense again and that I would rather withdraw her from the school that same day. She went on and on explaining, saying there was nothing a parent can do about anything and I told her this "At least I can take my daughter away". Bullies are threatening these children, school authorities are also threatening them in order to hide their inadequacies otherwise, what is the fear? Parents and teachers and school authorities should be collaborators in the interest of the child. My son also told me they always tell them this in school. Please and Please. This should stop! Let us all cry out against this trend now that we see its result. Thank you and God bless us all and protect our children from evil.

Hon. Justice E.E Ita (of Calabar Family Court Judicial Division) has just convicted 38 year old Effiom Edem Bassey for the r**e of a 5year old girl.
The convict will be sentenced on the 30th of September, 2021.
