PEOPLE ORIENTED LEGISLATIVE HOUSE; RT HON ENGR CHINEDUM ENYINNAYA ORJI AND HIS HON COLLEAGUES DESERVES OUR APPLAUSE
June 10, 2021 will make it two years in the life of the 7th Abia State House of Assembly, ably led by Rt Hon Engr Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, mnse (IKUKU Oma Abia).
Within the two years in view, the State House of Assembly made the people of Abia State the focal point of their Legislative Bill's and Motions passed in the House.
The Legislator's of the 7th ABHA believe in using Legislative instruments in protecting life and bettering the welfare of the Citizens of the State, knowing fully well that whatever Bill or Motions emanating from the Hallow Chamber's reflects directly on the people.
As the people's Representatives,
Rt Hon Chinedum Orji and His Hon Colleagues have shown that passing Legislations that support the economic growth and development of the State is a sacred duty that most be uphold at all times.
From the passing of the Violent against persons Bill to Motions raised in protecting Abia State boarder's and setting up a committee to that effect; to the Insurance Health Partnership Scheme with USAID and HP+ to the Diaspora Bill well applauded even by the Federal Government; we can see that the Abia House of Assembly is all about the People and the State.
The present House has been able to establish it's functions, inline with the Constitution and as such, work in close harmony with the Executive led by the ever hardworking Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, Ph.D which have brought home a lot of Democratic dividends to the State.
permit me at this point to quote Bob Ehrlich who said "It's appropriate to celebrate public service, and the thoughtful people who choose to serve. They symbolize what is good and decent about this historic citizen legislature, and we thank them"
As a citizen, I applaud and celebrate the Leadership and Members of the 7th Abia State House of Assembly led by Rt Hon Chinedum Orji, on how they have positively challenged each other on constituency deliverable project performances and the synergy of togetherness that exists between them across party line.
It is expected that as a cohesive House, that the 7th Abia House of Assembly as it enters into it's 3rd year of existence, will perform creditable well in positioning Abia State for greater Economic and Developmental heights; even as we increase our resounding applause in supporting their Legislative performance for the glory of our dear Abia State!

It's a GOAL!!!
We all know and have felt the euphoria, the shout of joy, the screaming, the jumping up, friendly banter with strangers, the patting of each others back, the handshakes, the hug, the out of the world smiles on our faces, the peace of mind and confidence that envelopes us when our team scores or favourite player on the pitch does.
Its a goal the crowd screams in ecstasy!!!
Its a goal cuts across gender, age, race or tribe.
Its a goal will always be screamed either from the people's darling team or opposing team once a goal is scored!.
Now let's pause a minute and reflect on the Stadia built and been built across the State that brings people together to experience this exciting entertainment in a conducive atmosphere not considering it economic benefits yet to the people!
Every purpose driven leader embark on projects that directly reflects positively on the masses. Projects that not only brings development but also put's smile's on the people's face.
We cannot applaud the bringer's of such joy enough, each time its a goal is shouted in these stadiums we appreciate God for the wisdom given to these leaders of men with hearts of gold for the good of the people.
His Excellency Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, Ph.D did it and is doing it the more, so are Rt Hon Engr Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, mnse, Hon Uko Nkole and Hon Ginger Onwusibe done it, doing it and more is expected.
How do you start to describe the Grandmaster of all in project development and implementation even as a Senator - did it, doing it, done it and doing more, building timeless legacies; I can only say Ochendo Global well-done Papa Ukwu!
Building a stadium; mini or standard that is constantly put in use is one of the quickest ways of building direct economic growth into the pocket of the people, attracting fast rising development around it and most importantly discovering of talents and reducing juvenile delinquencies amongst our young adults.
I therefore enjoin all Abians to appreciate the foresightedness of these great men that embarked on these projects and others that brings succor to the people!

Continuous winning a Product of Positive Performance.
Congratulations to all Abians that believe in good governance and the emergence of a New Abia united under the leadership of His Excellency Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu.
Prudent leadership has given Abia State a pride of place in the committee of States in Nigeria and this came through by having all hands on deck harnessing the great potential that make Abia State 'God's Own State'
From His Excellency's performance in changing the narratives in infrastructural development and building on the potentials inherent in SMEs as a means of generating wealth and creating employment in the State and exporting Made in Aba as a global brand to the world; to the wonderful and Foresighted sagacious legislation of the 7th Abia State House of Assembly led by Rt Hon Engr Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, mnse that keep passing incontrovertible Motions and Bills that is propelling the New Abia to great heights.
A Legislative House that continuously receives accolade's both locally and internationally, especially with the recent recognition by the Presidency for the diaspora bill which represent the present and futuristic interactions of those living in the diaspora with their home state; With this, Abia State has set a pace and benchmark for other State in Nigeria to follow.

Now the Chips are Down, Quality Service Speaks
**********************
Straight to the point! Finding yourself in a position of authority, either through official promotion, appointment or being elected is all about service to the people.
Once you becloud that mindset of 'service' with all about "yourself", you lose track of service delivery to the people, which eventually encapsulate how posterity judge You.
Let's tell ourselves the truth, knowing how people that live in Aba with their reactionary mindset behave in calling leaders to account, do you think that His Excellency Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, Ph.D the Governor of Abia State would have had such rousing welcome from Ndi-Aba, not minding his a son of the soil with eloquence and swag...take note, the covering for the heroes welcome given to him is quality service delivery speaking for him. Well-done our amiable and kinetic Governor, You sabi the work!
Looking at Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, mnse, the Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly taken the podium in Aba to a thunderous applause and loud ovation; mind you his achieving this feat is the product of quality service delivery to the people speaking and galvanizing the masses! Thank you Ikuku Oma Abia for your humane heart and showing us how a leader should lead; that the people comes first!
When men are given platform to perform and they deliver and still delivering, it is inherently expected that no matter the podium they stand (now or tomorrow) people will surely fall over themselves to identify with them.
Thank God for the Governor and Mr Speaker for delivering on the platform they stand presently.
Now that the Chips are down and Chimaobi Ndi Aba their quality service is speaking for PDP. What a glorious time to be a Member of PDP not only in Aba North and Aba South Federal Constituency but in the whole of Abia State.
The people, you and I are taken note of service delivery of every leader in position of authority because it will eventually speak.
To the opposition's, 'you cannot give what you don't have' is a common saying in character and sense of responsibility, you know what am saying if you can truly count your teeth with your tongue!
Chimaobi Ndi-Aba let quality service delivery continue to speak for you as it propels you to the green Chamber!

Beyond Legislative Performance: Part 2.
We all know what the job of a Legislator either at the State or national level, as the people representative entails: Making laws, moving motions, looking at petitions, screening of Executive nominee's, carrying out oversight functions and so on and so forth. Apart from other defined vested constitutional powers of the House, most of his functions are geared towards protecting or projecting the interest of his or her constituency.
Today's Honourable Members are expected to do more than representing the people, a lot of burden are placed on their shoulders to deliver more as they are seen to be closer home by the people.
It takes a true progressive to reach out to his people, understand their needs and assuage same; before his truly applauded as performing well.
It is easier to point out that a Legislator is not performing no matter the brilliancy he or she brings to the floor of the hallow chamber, without commensurately given back to his Constituency.
The ability to manage the dexterity of the House and the wellbeing of your constituency makes you a darling of the people you represent.
The 7th Abia State House of Assembly, is made up of 'the People's Darling', who in one way or the other have gone beyond legislative performance in less than two years in the life span of the present House to showcase their love for the people; the Rt Hon Speaker of the House lead's in this feat, even as the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon Ifeanyi Uchendu, Majority Leader Hon Solomon Akpulonu, Hon Ginger Onwusibe, Hon Jerry Uzosike, Hon Stanley Nwabuisi to mention but a few, have shown their mark in their respective constituencies.
Robert Rivers said "Part of life is understanding that real change and progress comes with dedicated perseverance but also realizing that challenges, obstacles and roadblocks will appear from time to time"
It has taken dedicated perseverance to serve the people, through the positive progressive changes emanating from the State House of Assembly that has given it 'The Best Legislative House in Abia state' by the masses.
Achieving this, also came with challenges and obstacles that were overcome by the resounding resolve of the Members of the House to perform and deliver no matter the odds through it's leadership led by Rt Hon Engr Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, mnse.
They have gone beyond procrastination which characterizes most office holders to bring the dividend of democracy to the table, for the good of Abians.
The Abia State House of Assembly Honourable Members understands what Mark Thomas said that "Procrastination can be categorized as habit, and that habit, if continued repeatedly and turned into a life style, transforms into a bad habit that can pull us back from progress and delay our success"
In a hurry to succeed; the Honourable House Member's have gone all out to proof and set a benchmark that representing the people is not only about Legislation but also looking into the welfare of its constituency by putting smile's on the faces of if not all, but majority of the people.
The 7th Abia State House of Assembly deserves our support and understanding, as the House steadily but surely enacts legislation's that will guarantee progressive development that continuously announces Abia State Positively to the World; in place.

The Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Engr Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji over the weekend flagged off a free eye medical program for his constituents at Umuahia Central State Constituency.
The free eye care intervention program which held at the World Bank Housing Estate in Umuahia, is part of the Direct Touch Initiative of the Speaker, and according to him, "it is geared towards putting a check on sight deficiencies and related eye issues among the people.
"The rate of eye defects among the citizens is so high that special interventions like this one are required to help curb the issue especially when a large part of the affected population might not have the wherewithal to treat themselves. So it becomes imperative that an intervention of this nature is rolled out", the Speaker said in his address to the beneficiaries.
A team of ophthalmologists ran checks, administered drugs and gave out medicated lenses to patients, as may be required.
The Direct Touch Initiative of the Member representing Umuahia Central State Constituency and Speaker of the 7th Abia State House of Assembly has over time covered other areas like the provision of water boreholes to communities, renovation of schools, provision of transformers to communities, scholarships, gifting of cash and empowerment items etc to constituents to help improve their standard of living.
The Speaker was represented at the venue of the free medical eye care outreach by his Chief of Staff, Mazi Kenneth Ezeigbo.
Making a difference in Leadership
It is universally acclaimed that a true leader is the darling of the people especially the youth. A beacon of hope for the masses, a bridge builder shifting the rocks and blocks to leave a solid foundation.
Such leader's are always in the dugout, not minding the dirt; to bring about development and repositioning for a better tomorrow.
That Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, mnse is such a leader is not in question. It takes having great humane qualities that transcend self and the Mighty Hand of God to be able to bridge the gap of acceptance across generation's which he represents.
From the low land of the South across the Centre to the rising hill's of the North speaks of acceptance for a man that has directly touched life's. No wonder just like other great men were joyfully enthroned with titles by the people; the youths of Abia unanimously titled him " GENERAL OF THE YOUTH".
As a true leader, he speaks not just for his constituency, he speaks for the whole Abia. He speaks not just for the Assembly he presides over, he speaks the good of the administration of His Excellency Dr Victor Okezie Ikpeazu and his giant strides in repositioning Abia State.
In public and in private, he speaks not for himself, but speaks for the general good of all.
Leadership of altruistic service this is what Ikuku Oma Abia brings to the Polity of Abia politics.
GENERAL OF THE YOUTH, we collectively hail YOU!

There are different levels of Status and
For the intellectual dissectors, this piece is not for you, but for those that have humanity at heart.
What makes a true leader is neither his or her Socio-politico Religious ethnical background nor his intellectual sagacity and class fraternity!
What makes a true leader, is his or her compassion to touch humanity at it's lowest ebb from the heart. Humanity in this context, is flesh and blood.
I have watched him closely and his interaction with people, and can adduce there is neither high, mighty or arrogance in his humility in relating with people.
I cannot claim to read his mind but from a man's action you can deduce; and for him, Abia comes first. If bridges are to be mended or shifted to cross Abia to take its pride of place, he will celebrate with all.
Status or not, he appreciates the inputs of all Abians home and abroad towards the development of the State.
There are no boundaries to what makes Ikuku Oma Abia a leader across board, the only boundary he sets in his relationship with people, especially the youth is do that which is good before God and Man and once you do, you are friends.

Another Award for the Love of Excellent Service.
Recently the Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Engr) Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, mnse was given the Award of Excellence as 'The Most Distinguished Assembly Speaker of the Year 2020' by Mben Political Assembly during her year 2020 Dialogue & Award Ceremony.
This award is coming after the Abia State House of Assembly Speaker was also recently Awarded the Best Speaker in Nigeria for the year 2020 after been awarded same in 2019.
These back to back awards are unprecedented within the Legislative circle in Nigeria and it says a lot about the leadership style, dedication and service the Abia Speaker brings to bear in the discharge of his Legislative duties.
Marcus Aurelius said "Accept the things to which fate binds you, and love the people with whom fate brings you together, but do so with all your heart"
Mben Political Assembly a strong Think-tank voice of highly influential and Cerebral distinguished personality out for the Socioeconomic and political development of Ohafia said that "the Award is in recognition of the speaker's contributions to Ohafia and Abia state" while handing the Award to Mr. Speaker
Dalai Lama once said "If you don't love yourself, you cannot love others. You will not be able to love others. If you have no compassion for yourself then you are not able of developing compassion for others"
Rt. Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji's love is a strong evidence that is seen in his selfless and unselfish service to the people of Abia, no wonder the awards from Abians from all walks of life thumbing up his leadership performance. He does not arrogate excellence to himself alone but sees it as a collective effort achieved with his Honourable Colleagues in the House.
The New Vista of development taking place in the State is a double barrel approach of collective synergy of oneness to succeed and leave a lasting legacy by His Excellency Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, Ph.D and the House led by Rt. Hon (Engr) Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji.
Abia is in the news for all the right reasons and we owe this to both of them.
Let the award keep coming, it is well deserved.
