Today our Lead Advisor had the opportunity, as invited by , to share with some passionate special education teachers how to effectively design and implement an IEP.

The task was simple; coach these educators in the most effective manner, how to ensure that their IEPs are specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time-bound.

He even shared his IEP goal "formula" with them.

Similarly, they learnt how to use the PREP framework in crafting effective IEPs for their students with additional needs using online tools.

He also shared how other stakeholders, particularly parents, are vital to the development and implementation of the IEPs.

A Saturday well spent.

We look forward to doing more of this in 2024!

To your success and that of your students.

7 days to go! Are you ready?

01/12/2023

Hello December!

17/11/2023

WOULD YOU RATHER BE LEFT BEHIND?

Imagine a world where every child, regardless of their unique challenges, is met with understanding, support, and the right interventions at the right time.

This vision is not just aspirational; it is achievable through the power of early intervention.

Early intervention is the foundation of fostering inclusive support for learners. It is the proactive step that can reshape the trajectory of a child's education.

Similarly, identifying and addressing challenges at their earliest stages ensures breakthrough; unlocking the full potential of every learner and setting the stage for a lifetime of success.

The collaborative impact of early intervention is profound!

This is because it brings together class teachers, early years professionals, parents, and specialists, creating a unified front dedicated to the well-being and growth of the child.

It also transcends disciplinary boundaries; weaving a tapestry of support that is both comprehensive and tailored to the individual needs of each learner.

SO I ASK AGAIN, WOULD YOU RATHER BE LEFT BEHIND?

Join us on Saturday, 9th December 2023, as we tap into the experience and perspective of our 5 expert panelists.

We will learn.

We will discuss.

We will collaborate.

We will be stimulated.

We will share knowledge.

Participation is FREE, but registration is MANDATORY! Check the comment section for registration details.

Together, we will explore the strategies and insights that make early intervention a powerful force for positive change.

To your success and that of your students,

06/11/2023

WHY COLLABORATE?

When we talk about collaboration and inclusivity, what we mean is bringing everyone on board.

There are so many interventions for students with additional needs that should have started since early years, but because of lack of awareness, financial constraints, denial or irresponsibility, it didn't happen.

According to Ramey and Ramey's (1998) work in "Early Learning and School Readiness," emphasis is largely on the importance of early intervention for children encountering learning issues.

And collaborative efforts between special education teachers, parents, class teachers, and early years practitioners can help to adequately identify and manage learning challenges at an early stage.

This early intervention can in turn have long-term benefits by avoiding the need for extensive remediation later in the student's lifelong education.

In this maiden edition of the Learning Support Summit, we'll be bringing together expert panelists and engaging in multidisciplinary knowledge sharing.

Are you a class teacher?

Are you an early years practitioner?

Are you a school administrator?

Are you a special educator?

Are you a parent?

This is for you!

This is your chance to interact with individuals that have carved a niche for themselves in particular areas of learning support. Your questions and participation as delegates will shape the outcome of the summit.

Attendance is FREE, but registration is MANDATORY.

Check the comment section for registration details.

Trust me, you don't want to miss this.

To your success and that of your students,

03/11/2023

Dear Educators,

You will agree with me that most interventions that you struggle to implement right now should have started from early years. That's even irrespective of the child's condition.

In order to understand the wholesome impact of collaboration, we are bringing together expert panelists from special education and early years to the Learning Support Summit.

This year's Learning Support Summit is the maiden edition and it is powered by , in collaboration with and .

The theme for this year's summit is "Collaborate: Fostering Holistic Inclusive Support for Every Learner"

Date: 9th December, 2023
Time: 10am WAT
Venue: Online

You don't want to miss this!

It's a game changer. TRUST ME!

Attendance is FREE, but registration is MANDATORY.

P.S: In the coming days we'll be unveiling our expert panelists.

On Friday our Lead Advisor facilitated a teacher training session with , a not-for-profit school that serves Kpaduma Hills and its environs in Asokoro, Abuja, with free education to indigent students.

He had an incredible time training teachers on inclusive education practices!

The training was hosted by NFI for teachers from low cost schools within Abuja.

It was absolutely remarkable, engaging with educators on embracing new strategies and techniques to create a more inclusive learning environment for their students, particularly those with additional needs.

He shared with them why classrooms need to move from the notion of having a "highflyer class" made up of those students that are considered highly intelligent, to a system of pairing students of diverse learning needs in the same class and accommodating them using the principles of UDL.

Teachers were equipped with the knowledge and tools to cater to diverse student needs, ensuring no one gets left behind in the pursuit of knowledge.

He also spoke about the special education process, from identification of students that require additional support to creating a transition plan that caters to their needs as they move from one phase to another.

He equally showed them how to streamline their prompts to get tailored content from ChatGPT and Bard, that will also accommodate students with additional needs as well as highflyers.

They also learnt about the difference between disability and disorder, and how more than one condition can exist as a comorbid disability in their students.

It was indeed a fantastic Friday.

We look forward to more of such gatherings; sharing knowledge, collaborating with other teachers and building amazing networks.

Thank you NFI. Thank you Mrs Tosin.

Together, we can make education truly inclusive and empower every student to thrive.

"Does this crash course have a sort of masterclass afterwards or something? I don't understand why you are charging just N1,500."

My dear teacher, listen.

Learning from me is typically free. I am that kind of person.

Ask around.

But you see, when you give people things for free they usually don't place value on it.

That is why the registration fee for the SPE101 Inclusive Education Crash Course is to ensure a level of commitment from each participant.

That way EVERYONE can afford it and commit to it.

The impact of the crash course nko? Beyond 1,500‼️

You won't learn the content of the crash course anywhere. It's one of its kind.

As a matter of fact, every day I send reading materials into our telegram group for participants to study ahead of the live training.

What if your phone can't accommodate Google Meet?

Don't worry. A recording of the live training will also be provided to enable participants rewatch afterwards.

SPE101 Inclusive Education Crash Course 3.0 starts 28th October.

Check the comment section for registration details.

We can do this.
