Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, the Presidential hopeful of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Party for the 2023 elections and his entourage today in Lagos visited the Lagos state government house in Marina, and the Palace of the Oba of Lagos.

Describing Lagos as an important part of the country, politically, socially and economically, the Presidential hopeful said that governance must be all inclusive, stating further that so many factors need to be considered in identifying and agreeing on who will be the leader of this nation.

Chief Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi said he extends his hands of friendship to the Lagos state government to support his bid to become the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the 2023 elections.

He cited that he has the requisite experience in many areas and levels of governance, as a former legislator and a former governor. While further describing himself as a bridge between the old and young people with modern technology, the Aspirant said his experiences in checkmating insecurity and poverty during his reign as the Rivers state governor, and other achievements as the Minister of Transportation are outstanding and open for anyone to contest.

In separate responses, the Lagos state governor, His Excellency Babajide Sanwo-Olu accepts the experiences the Aspirant has in stock, describing them as worth considering for a presidential aspirant, and comes to the conclusion that the Aspirant is eminently qualified to preside over affairs of the nation. He pointed out that politics would be played according to the rules of the Party, and prayed for the best person to emerge for the country.

The Oba of Lagos, His Royal Highness Oba Rilwan Babatunde Osuolale Aremu Akiolu who will in a few weeks celebrate his 80th birthday, also said that experience, knowledge and capability are some factors to consider in choosing a presidential candidate, in which the Aspirant possesses them all.

The Oba urged the Aspirant not to relent in his efforts, and prayed that Allah Almighty choose what is best for the Aspirant and the country, as it is God who decides who power goes too.

President Muhammadu Buhari has sent messages of congratulations to two chieftains of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Rotimi Amaechi, Minister of Transportation and two-time Director General of his election campaigns, and Nasiru Haladu Danu, a reputable businessman, on the conferment of a chieftaincy titles on them tomorrow, Saturday by the Daura Emirate Council.

President Buhari described the conferment of the title of “Dan Amana,” (the trusted one) to Amaechi as a clear commitment to the harmonious relationship between the nation’s diverse cultures.

Alhaji Danu is being turbaned as Tafida Babba of Daura.

He commended the Minister “for working with enormous energy to make the CHANGE we promised Nigerians a reality,” noting that “the change we are witnessing in the transport sector is an extraordinary legacy.”
