The Delta State Government is glad to announce that another patient has been discharged. With five patients discharged yesterday, we currently have eight active cases in the state.
Today, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Mordi Ononye, announced that the test results of the 67-year old caucasian woman that slumped and died in Osubi, Okpe LGA of Delta State on Sunday has turned out negative.
Dr. Ononye further stated that the young man suspected to be the deceased’s boyfriend also tested negative to as samples of him were also taken for testing.
“I urge residents to comply with government’s directives on the various precautionary measures to protect ourselves from the disease. This is the only way to contain the pandemic,” the Commissioner said.
Today, the Delta Government announced that any citizen or resident that is seen in public without a face mask will be confined at one of the isolation centres in the state.
The Commissioner for Information, Charles Aniagwu, stated that this was part of the resolutions reached at a meeting of the Technical Committee for the Prevention of in Delta.
"We have the responsibility to protect our people; use of face masks which must be worn properly to cover the mouth and nose must be implemented,” the commissioner said.

The Delta State Government has announced that it has recorded two new confirmed cases of . The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Mordi Ononye, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday in Asaba.
The two new cases, one female and one male, are from Uvwie and Udu LGAs. Both patients are in stable condition and are receiving treatment from our team of medical professionals at our isolation centres.
Citizens and residents of Delta State should note that as a precautionary measure to mitigate against the potential spread of the Corona Virus, the Delta State government has set up 12 holding facilities across the state.

The Delta State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Mordi Ononye has urged Corps members to imbibe hygienic practices in order to keep themselves healthy and to curb the spread of viruses.
Dr. Ononye said this during his inspection of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Permanent Orientation camp, Issele-Uku, to ascertain the health measures that have been put in place to protect the health of Corpers.
“Corps members at the clinic must always be alert and protect themselves when providing medical care to patients. We have created holding centers across the 25 LGAs in the State and the rapid response team is on high alert in case of any emergency,” Dr. Ononye said.
