MAAUN congratulates Adamu Muhammad Wakili on 36th birthday
The President and Founder of Maryam Abacha American University and Franco-British International university, Kaduna, Prof Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo has congratulated Alhaji muhammad Adamu wakili on his 36th birthday on
Sunday, 19 September.
The congratulatory message which was contained in a statement personally signed by Prof. Abubakar Gwarzo, was sent to Muhammad Adamu Wakili who is the Registrar of Maryam Abacha American University of Togo.
Prof. Abubakar Gwarzo, who is also the President of Association of Private Universities, described the celebrant as honest, truthworthy person who relates well with people and committed to seeing that youths especially from the North and Nigeria at large acquire quality education.
He also described Adamu wakili as a role model for the youth who respect elders and even the younger ones which is an achievement for him and ourselves.
"So, on behalf of the Management of Maryam Abacha American University and Franco-British International university, I wish to felicitate with you on your 36th birthday.
"May the Almighty Allah continue to shower His blessings on you and give you the a courage to continue to lead by example", Prof. Abubakar Gwarzo said.
The celebrant, Adamu Muhammad Wakili is an Educational Consultant, Public Analyst, Social Reformer and Political Commentator.
He also worked in ESAE University Benin, as Admission Officer, then later the Academic Secretary before becoming Registrar in the same University
23 Years After: MAAUN remembers Late Gen. Sani Abacha, condoles family
The Management of Maryam Abacha American University of Niger, Nigeria,Togo and France, has offered special prayers for the repose of the soul of former Military Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha who died 23 years ago.
The management of the university also used the occasion to once again condole with the family of late Head of State who died on June 8, 1998.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the university, Ali Yusuf Kakaki and issued to newsmen in Kano on Tuesday.
According to the statement, the North in particular and Nigeria as well as West Africa in general has lost a committed and patriotic leader.
"Nigeria will never forget the infrastructure development it witnessed during the time Late Gen. Abacha was Head of State especially the rehabilitation of major highways across the country, provision of free drugs in all hospitals through PTF in addition to ensuring adequate security in all the nooks and crannies of the country.
The statement, which described late Abacha as firm and fearless, said Abacha maintained maximum security for all citizens in the country.
The management of MAAUN, therefore, prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive all his shortcomings and grant him Aljannah Firdaus.

The President and Founder of Maryam Abacha University of Nigeria (MAAUN), Professor Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, has commended the Federal Government and all those who facilitated in granting the University a licence to operate in Nigeria.
Professor Gwarzo made the commendation on Wednesday in a statement he personally signed and issued to newsmen in Kano from Paris.
It could be recalled that the Federal Government had recently granted 20 new private universities including MAAUN, provisional licenses to operate in Nigeria.
He said the granting of the license had fulfilled his desire and commitment to see that Nigerians, especially the youths get quality university education comparable to Europe which would enable them to compete favourably with other university graduates across the globe.
He specifically commended President Muhammadu Buhari, the Federal Executive Council and the National Universities Commission (NUC) as well as other well wishers who called him or sent congratulatory messages after granting the licence.
Prof. Abubakar Gwarzo added that the license granted by the Federal Government would give him the courage and determination to go ahead with his intention to commence the construction of some Faculties and departments at the proposed MAAUN site in Gwarzo town.
He gave the assurance that the University management would do its best to provide students with quality education as they have put in place the best facilities in addition to qualified lecturers.
"It is our desire to save Kano state, North, Nigeria and entire Africa from shortage of universities," he added.
Maryam Abacha Varsity donates Luxurious bus to BUK
Maryam Abacha American University in collaboration with AAG-Foundation has donated a Sixty (60) Seater mercedes-benz luxurious Bus to Bayero University, Kano as Part of its Education Sub-Sector Support Initiative in the West African (ECOWAS/CEDEO) Sub-Region.
Presenting the vehicle to the Vice Chancellor of BUK, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas on Tuesday, the Director Liason and International collaboration, Dr Bala Muhammad, who led the MAAUN delegation, said the gesture was in line with the MAAUN and AAG vision of creating sustainable and smooth access to education for all.
He said the reason behind donating the bus was also aimed at boosting MAAUN effort towards ensuring a hitch-free transport system to aid effective learning and check congestion as of part renewed effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19 pandemic in Nigerian universities.
"The aim of the donation is to contribute to the University efforts in improving hitch free transport systems for effective learning and helps in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic by reducing congestion," Muhammad said.
In his remarks, the Vice Chancellor of BUK, Prof. Sagir Adamu Abbas commended Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo for the gesture and his continued support to Bayero University Kano.
He assured that the University would make the best use of the vehicle as it would go along way in alleviating the sufferings of students in the area of transportation.
The occasion was attended by various Professors and Directors as well as other distinguished personalities from within and outside the BUK.
MAAUN commiserates with Senator Lado over mother's death
The Management of Maryam Abacha American University of Niger (MAAUN) Maradi, has condoled with the family of Hajiya Fatima (Fanta) Garba Mohammed, the mother of Senator Basheer Mohammed Lado, Federal Commissioner, National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).over her death
Hajiya Fanta, who was the immediate younger sister of late Head of State, General Sani Abacha, died on Saturday at a Hospital in Abuja at the age of 75.
The condolence message was contained in a statement signed by the President and Founder of the University, Professor Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo and made available to newsmen in Kano on Sunday.
He described late Hajiya Fanta as a great mother and prayed to Allah to forgive all her shortcomings.
Abubakar Gwarzo also described the death of Hajiya Fanta as a great loss not only to her immediate family but to the people of Kano state in view of the fact that during her life she devoted her time assisting the less privileged in the society.
He prayed to Almighty Allah to grant the deceased Aljannah Firdaus and her family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
The deceased who left behind many children and grandchildren, had since been buried in accordance with the Islamic rites in Kano.
May her gentle soul rest in peace, ameen.

MAAUN condoles Niger Govt , family over death of labour Minister
The Management of Maryam Abacha American University of Niger (MAAUN) Maradi, has condoled with the Government of Niger,family and friends of late Minister of Labour, Mohamed Ben Omar,who died on Sunday at the main hospital of the capital Niamey.
The condolence was contained in a statement signed by MAAUN President, Professor Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo and made available to newsmen in Kano on Monday.
Abubakar-Gwarzo described the death of Ben Umar as a great loss not only to his immediate family, but to the entire people of Niger Republic in view of his immense contribution to the development of education when he was the country's Minister of education.
“We are deeply saddened by the news of Ben Omar Mohamed passing, who until his death, was the former Minister of Higher Education and later the Minister of Labour, Niger Republic,” Abubakar-Gwarzo said.
He said the death of Mohamed at this critical moment has created a huge vacuum not only for the immediate family but the entire Niger Republic.
“On behalf of the board of trustees and management of Maryam Abacha American University of Niger, we wish to extend our sincere condolences to the bereaved families and entire people of Niger Republic over the death of the Minister.
Abubakar-Gwarzo prayed to grant the deceased eternal rest and his family as well as his associates the fortitude to bear the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
