MEN ACCOUNTABILITY NETWORK

Men don't talk together about themselves, about their realities and how to learn from shared experiences... to solve their problems like women do.

Even when they gather in different groups around the church for example, they don't discuss about the challenges that face men. They rather discuss about the church and about projects that does not impact them as a gender and as individual.

Men are too proud to talk about their family challenges unlike women. This is why they soon buckle under the weight.

One of my dream for 2024 is to get men to talk uabout themselves, their marriages, se*x, their children and society... even the place of faith and spirituality in the life of a man.

This is what Men Accountability Network plans to do. To create cells at all areas for men to share their life issues, get better and assist other men to stand.

Happy Boxing Day...

For me, this Gen Z stuff is a wrong assertion.
I belonged to a "Gen Z" in the past.
Every new generation always think they are wiser than their fathers.

Have we not grown old now to see and accept our immaturity...our childishness...conceding our supposed wisdom for st*upidity?

I used to think my father was a c*oward then when I expected him to behave like a man. Today, the tag suits me better, in my silence, seeing things I would have normally pulled down the roof just slide.

Values and principles took the back seat for noise and power then...just today. The baton is handed over.

This generation will give birth to another Gen Z.

And that will be the continuum, as long and man exists.
My third child just informed me of the next generation "Gen Alpha".
He insisted I confirm though. That is still my point. Gen Z is not the last generation. Another will take over from them when they become parents just like we are today.

However, I cringe when I hear parents because of our collective failure to bring up the present generation of youth and teenagers say "they have a mind if their own etc etc" Mtcheeeew.
Didn't we have a mind of our own and most of us that were restrained to certain boundaries made it to become responsible, decent citizens today.

We must wake up as parents. Our laziness, ignorance and copycating of cultures alien to us are turning our wards into aliens.

*@ 1:30pm yesterday I got a phone call from 08148292037 who claimed to be Mr* *Benjamin from FBN Abuja. He gave my full names, BVN number,* *Date of Birth, my Alert phone number, which he called, also* *the 5 digit number I used to create my *FBN mobile bank app.*
*He said that one Mr* *Usman created a* *Union bank account, and is trying to move money from my FBN account to the Union bank. He claimed he stopped the transaction, & is trying to verify if I authorised such transaction, which is the reason I have not gotten any debit Alert.*
*I asked him to go ahead to block the transaction, for I didn't authorise any online transaction.*
*He then asked if I gave my ATM card to anyone or used my ATM recently, I said NO.*
*He then asked if I have my ATM card with me, and demanded that I should read out the* *ATM digit numbers to enable him stop the transaction. I told him that he had already stopped the* *transaction, and have gotten a clarification from me, which is enough to enable him block whatever that needs to be blocked, if he is truly a first bank staff.*
*As I refused to call out the numbers, he then asked isn't this is the first 5 numbers?* *He then asked what's the next number? I told him that I will never read out my* *number to who claimed to be FBN`s staff over the phone, that I will rather go to any First Bank office & complain. He asked* *me if he is a ghost and not a FBN staff to get all my details.*
*As I pi**ed him off by not budging in, he switched off the phone.*
*An alert came in, as I checked the message on my phone, there was already a message from Union Bank, showing* *Account opening Authentication numbers 872395, 973392.*
*I quickly rushed to FBN. The Customer care personnel asked me not to bother* *about anything, so long as I didn't read out those numbers to* *him nor gave him my ATM pin or the three digits number at the back of my ATM card.*
*Please be guided. My people, it is so real & convincing that I believe some Fraudulent bank staffs connive with these DIE HARD* *HOOLIGANS to dupe innocent customers.*
*Please share widely ASAP.*

VANITY OF LIFE.....

🌿One Sunday morning, a wealthy man sat in his balcony enjoying the sunshine and his coffee when a little ant caught his eye; going from one side to the other side of the balcony, carrying a big leaf several times more than its size.

🌿The man watched it for more than an hour. He saw that the ant faced many impediments during its journey, paused, took a diversion and then continued towards its destination.

🌿At one point the tiny creature came across a crack in the floor. It paused for a little while, analyzed and then laid the huge leaf over the crack, walked over the leaf, picked the leaf on the other side then continued its journey.

🌿The man was captivated by the cleverness of the ant, one of God’s tiniest creatures.

🌿The incident left the man in awe and forced him to contemplate over the miracle of Creation. It showed the greatness of the Creator.
🌿Before his very eyes was this tiny creature of God, lacking in size yet equipped with a brain to analyze, contemplate, reason, explore, discover and overcome.

🌿Along with all these capabilities, the man also noticed that this tiny creature shared some human shortcomings.

🌿The man saw about an hour later that the creature had reached its destination – a tiny hole in the floor which was entrance to its underground dwelling.

🌿At this point the ant’s shortcoming that it shared with man was revealed.

🌿How could the ant carry the large leaf it carefully managed to its destination into the tiny hole? It simply couldn’t!

🌿So the tiny creature, after all the painstaking and hard work and exercising great skills, overcoming all the difficulties along the way, just left behind the large leaf and went home empty-handed.

🌿The ant had not thought about the end before it began its challenging journey and in the end the large leaf was nothing more than a burden to it.

🌿The creature had no option, but to leave it behind, to reach its destination.

🌿The man learned a great lesson that day. Isn’t that the truth about our lives?

🌿We worry about our family,
🌿We worry about our job,
🌿We worry about how to earn more money,
🌿We worry about where we should live – 5 bedroom or 6 bedroom house.
🌿What kind of vehicle to buy – a Mercedes or Honda or BMW or a Porsche?
🌿What kind of dress to wear?
🌿All sorts of things, only to abandon all these things when we reach the entrance to our destination – {THE GRAVE} when we realize we cannot enter our destination with all these things.

🌿We don’t realize in our life’s journey that these are just burdens that we are carrying with utmost care and fear of losing them, only to find that at the end, they are useless and we can’t take them with us.

🌿The ONLY TREASURE that lasts FOREVER is; OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH OUR CREATOR - GOD.

🌿So ask yourself, "AM I USING MY WHOLE LIFE TO SERVE HIM?

🌿May God guide us all and remove from our hearts the excessive love we have for this world. Amen.

How can those who are even not Christians cause you so much tension in celebrating your own Lord and Saviour saviour's birth as if there is a medal attached to it.

Christmas celebrations is good but do not kill yourself over it.
If you have money enjoy yourself with your family, but remember your neighbours.

If you do not have, do not be that rat that jumped into a river with the lizard in the harmattan...only to end up getting pneumonia. While the lizard wriggles away easily.

Please Go to Church if you can today...look out for the child of God in dire need and siw a seed in their life. That is the best gift. Do it in God's name!

HANDBAGS OPEN IN PUBLIC PLACES...

Often, when I meet women with their handbags open in any public place I advice them to try and lock their bags.
Most times their response will be there is nothing in the bag.
To those who pay attention, I go on to inform that it is not only about nothing in the bag, the bag being open may put you in a big problem never expected. For example, if someone stole something e.g, a phone and is about to be caught, that empty bag may be a place to drop the item.

Be careful, lock up your bag always, especially when in public places like banks, buses, etc...!

In the market you find a poor woman with a baby at her back you lower your car window and with a military rough command voice you asked her:

How much are you selling those onions and bananas?

The poor seller politely replies,
"N1,500 for a bunch of bananas and N1,000 for a pack of onions.''

With pride you demand the bunch of bananas at N800 and the the pack of onions at N700 or else you will leave.

The poor seller resigns to fate and replies, "take them at the price you want. I have not made any sale today, at least I have something for supper now."

She has made a loss but she goes further to buy a plastic bag for you to pack the two items you have just bought.

You order her to hurry up otherwise you may change your mind. She apologises and with a smile, she gives you the items and she blesses you for patronizing her.

You literally throw the money at her and you sped away leaving behind a cloud of smoke and dust which causes a bit of discomfort to her and the baby. She is coughing while securing her little money. Her poverty has left her with no choice.

You have now arrived at the 5-star restaurant where you are to meet friends and you ask them to order food and drinks of their choice.

They order expensive food and the leftovers are more than the food they have eaten.

The total bill is N65,000 and you pay without bargaining, you gave a tip of N5,000 appreciating the waiter for a delicious meal....which you didn't eat even half of.

This incident might seem quite normal to you but it's inhumane...

THE POINT IS:-👇

Why do we always show that we have the bargaining power when we buy from the poor?

Why do we become arrogant when buying from the poor?

Why do we become stingy when buying from the vulnerable?

Why do we show generosity to those who do not even need our generosity?

Why do we become polite when buying from the rich who view our money as mere change?

Why do we channel money to a sea of money?

Please buy simple goods from the poor people at high prices....do it deliberately.

Sometimes, pay extra for the items you buy from poor women...you are only blessing them in your little way

Please where possible buy items from local markets.

To everyone reading this, please, everytime you see them in traffic, taxi parks, bus stops, on the streets....just buy!

Don't bargain. They are not looking for money to buy expensive clothes or mansions or cars, but to feed their children back home and pay school fees.

Please let's support the less privileged🙏🏽
