In another place, Jesus will tell the people to listen to the Pharisees but not to act like them. The Pharisees were considered the teachers and upholders of the Jewish traditions. Hopefully, Jesus would not say this about us. We all know the saying, "Do as I say, not as I do." What example do we give others? If we are known as Christians, do our actions proclaim it? I am aware that we have discussed this question before but it is in line with what we are reading today and we need to reflect on our behavior often. We can't take for granted that we are living as Jesus wants us to live if we don't pay attention. Just as in Lent, we are called to a greater sense of reflection Advent reminds us that this life is not our final home. It can be overwhelming to try to see all of the areas that might need improvement, so I'm suggesting that we take just one of the Ten Commandments that we might have some trouble with and see what changes we need to make to become more faithful to God. Perhaps we have trouble with the truth. Maybe we gossip, wanting to be the first to pass on juicy pieces of information. It might be that we need to clean up our speech and stop swearing and cursing. It can be anything that we find interferes with our relationship with God. If it interferes with our relationships with other people, it interferes with our relationship with God. After all, loving God and loving our neighbor are connected to one another. As John says in his first letter, if we say we love God and hate our neighbor, we are liars. We can't lie to God. We can lie to ourselves, but we cannot lie to God. Let us take this opportunity to prepare ourselves to live eternally with God.

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
( 2 Timothy 4:3-5 )

The prophecy of this scripture has been fulfilled. We are living in the last days where people want to hear teachings and preachings that suit their sinful ways.

Quick reminder :

God standard of Holiness remains the same. God will not change His standard of Holiness because of our sinful behaviors.

Now it is very difficult to distinguish between an unbelievers, worldly people and a true Christian. This is because many Christians have turn away from the sound doctrines and teachings of the Bible. Many say God look at the heart only but their outward speak about fornication, adultery , smoking, murder, abortion, dating, artificial hair, artificial nails, idol worship, covetousness, anger, envy, hatred, po*******hy, ma********on, homosexuality, lesbianism, half naked dressing, etc
( 1 Corinthians 6:9 , Galatians 5:19-21, I Isaiah 3:16-26, 1 Peter 3:3-5 , 1 John 2:15 , James 4:4 , Revelation 21:8 , Leviticus 19:28 ,
Exodus 20:1-14 , Mark 10:11-12 ).

Jesus Christ is calling you today. Come out and repent from all your sinful ways. For the coming of the Son of Man shall be like the day of Noah.

We need to celebrate ourselves.
Why should you celebrate yourself?

• God looked at all He created, and He said, this is good. Genesis 1

• It is not expensive to celebrate yourself.

For us Christians, we don't praise God enough because we don't celebrate ourselves.

▪︎ When you're celebrating yourself, it will dawn on you that God is the One taking care of you. Psalm 18:35

▪︎ You are what you are, by the grace of God. 1 Corinthians 15:10

▪︎ Bless the Lord at all times because it is not everyone who sleeps that wakes up. Psalm 108:1, 34: 1-3

▪︎ Human guards cannot keep you alive.
There is only One Fellow Who never sleeps nor slumbers.

▪︎ When you praise the Almighty God, His head swells
He gets up from His throne, and then:
》Yokes will be destroyed
》Mighty things will begin to happen
》Enemies become servants

☆ A question you should ask yourself today is 'what can I render unto the Lord?'

▪︎ It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed.

14 WAYS OF PREPARING FOR THE NEW YEAR

1—PREPARE FOR CHRIST COMING
The only good thing you can do to your self is to prepare to meet Christ if peradventure he comes in the year 2023.

2–PREPARE FOR DEATH
We are not praying for premature death.
But death can knock on your door at anytime, those who die in Christ are the most luckiest people ever, so prepare to die in Christ.

3–PREPARE YOUR HOUSE TO MEET THE LORD.
Yes as a believer you need to preach the gospel to your children, wife or husband, don’t focus on yourself alone or abondon your family spiritual state, if you are still single preach to your siblings.

4–PREPARE TO ASSIST THE POOR
If you have not been assisting the poor, those in the prison, hospital, and orphanage home, then you need to prepare yourself to do that.

5–PREPARE TO WORK HARD AND EARN WELL.
If you don’t work hard, you won’t earn well, you need money to do a lot, and remember if you don’t include God in your hustling you will work in vain.

6—PREPARE A TIMETABLE.
Yes don’t waste your time doing nothing
Find something doing with your time
Remember time is money, use your time to learn hand work, don’t waste your time waiting for white color jobs go out and learn new trade, creat a timetable for yourself.

7—PREPARE TO REST, EAT BALANCE DIET, DO EXERCISE.
The body is the temple of God, you need to take good care of the body, eat balance diets , eat fruit and drink enough water, do exercise.

8—PREPARE FOR CHURCH ACTIVITIES
If you have not been meeting up to the things of God then this is another year for you to do exploit
Prepare to avoid late going to church
Prepare to invest more into God’s work
Prepare to attend all church activities.etc
Remember you will only be remembered by What you have done for God here on earth.

9–PREPARE TO AVOID DISTRACTIONS
Satan will definitely bring people that will distract you from not getting the best in this coming new year.

10–PREPARE TO FORGIVE AND APOLOGIZE
The truth is that many People will offend you this coming new year, but prepare to always say sorry and to forgive as Christ as commanded us always forgive....e..t..c

11—PREPARE TO SAVE.
Yes prepare to save the little you have, if you work and finish everything at a time you will regret it greatly.

12—PREPARE TO STUDY THE WORD OF GOD MORE.
It is a pity that many believers today don’t know the word of God inside of them and that is why many false prophets can easily deceive them and the devil can touch them too.

13—PREPARE TO FACE CHALLENGES AND PERSECUTIONS.
Challenges must come to you, as long as you are still alive and even persecution, but when ever you are facing challenges and persecution remember the young Joseph who was in Potiphar’s house who never allow sin into his life.

14—PREPARE TO HAVE SPECIAL TIME WITH GOD
Your personal relationship with God is all you need
If you don’t have a quit time you talk to God as your father then you are not his child, and you are missing a lot, but you can do that this coming year 2023, remember Jesus started with prayers and ended with prayers.

Growing up, the poor in our village called my family poor because of how wretched my father and mother were. But today, there is no where the Redeemed Christian Church of God is not known worldwide all by the mercies of God. I pray for you, that my God Will announce you for good and poverty will become a thing of the past in Your life in Jesus name.

When you rejoice before the Lord, when you express yourself before the Lord, people who don't know where you're coming from may kick against your passion, style and expression*
*People who don't know where God took you from and what the He told you in secret will kick against the profuse expression of your passion for Him.*
Michal was Saul's daughter. She had always known royalty, she understood the finesse and class of the blueblood. She didn't know the backside of the desert where David was coming from, she didn't know about sleeping and eating with animals in the bush as a shepherd boy.
She did not know what it means to not be counted among the sons of your own father when it was time to anoint a king from your father's house.
This "àjè butter" queen could not relate with David's "heartical" street dance. She expected a more "kingly" style. People!
That's what happened to Michal, Saul's daughter and David's wife.
The people criticising you are not necessarily bad people; they just don't know what God told you when He called you.

Theme: Shine Forth
Text: Matthew 5: 14-16

Shine forth can mean several things:
☆ Radiate- showing your light such that it is not hidden.
☆ Prospering in a way that it cannot be hidden.

• There are breakthroughs & prosperity that can be hidden.
And there are some breakthroughs and prosperity that are too great to be hidden.
+ Obed-Edom. 2 Samuel 6: 1-12

• Shine forth means overflowing.
It can mean to overflow to others; to prosper in such a manner that everyone around you will benefit from it. 2 Kings 4: 8-17

☆ Shine forth can also mean fulfil your destiny.

• The destiny of light is to shine.
• Everything God created has a purpose. Revelation 4: 9-11

• God gives seed to the sower; those He knows will sow the seed.
Isaiah 55:10, 1 Kings 17: 8-16, Luke 4: 25-26

Why do you want to prosper?
To show off or to overflow?
Matthew 6: 24-33

What is the actual secret of overflowing prosperity?
>> God knows who will sow if He gives them seed.

+ Abraham.
Romans 4:11, Genesis 12: 1-3
* God knew that Abraham would be the first to pay tithe.
Genesis 14: 18-20
• God sees your heart.

• If you don't give when you have nothing, you won't be able to give when you have much.

Ask yourself:
Why do I want to overflow with blessings?
Why do I want to prosper?
He knew Abraham would be the first to offer a firstfruit sacrifice.
Genesis 22: 1-18

Salvation Call
The first encounter you can have with God is salvation.

God won't prosper a fool; a fool is one who says there is no God- the person who chooses not to submit to Yahweh. If you haven't given your life to Jesus, cry to Him for mercy. Ask Him to wipe your sins away with His blood, save your soul and promise Him you'll serve Him forever.

Prayer Point:
Father, You know all things; You know my thoughts, but You have the ability to put everything right.

Change me to a sower so that You can give me seed to sow.

Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain. He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. YOU ARE THAT CORN OF WHEAT SAINTS.

For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

You can’t get to where God sent you with the devils map. . The moment you begin to seek short cut the devil will show you a map that will lead to his trap. Don’t mix things!! Don’t complicate your Journey. Be patient! Have a great day

THREE THINGS THAT CAN DENY A PERSON ACCESS TO HEAVEN, Culled From Dipo Toby Alakija Illustrative Sermon Book Titled: “The Two Routes To Eternal Destination.
A girl who won a prize in a school competition heard the story about Jesus and Zacchaeus from a missionary teacher in her school. The story is found in Luke 19:1-10. In verse 8, the Bible says, “… Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord, Behold, Lord, I give the half of my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.”
The girl was so touched by the story that she went to the missionary teacher the next day and gave back fourfold sum of the prize she won at the competition. Amid tears, she confessed that she had won the prize deceitfully by copying the work of other child.
The missionary teacher was very happy to hear the confession but he told her that she would have to confess her sin to God because He is the only one Who can forgive sins. She needed to believe that the Lord Jesus paid our debt with His blood on the cross of Calvary.
The three things that can deny a person access to the kingdom of God are as follow:
1. Sin That Is Not Confessed To God: Sins are gifts from the devil which people happily accept without knowing that they are meant to take all receivers to hell as in Revelation 21:8. The Bible says in Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” By confessing our sins to God in prayers of forgiveness and by accepting Jesus Christ into our lives, we are accepting the gift of eternal life, throwing the gifts of sins back to the devil. The Bible says in 1 John 1:8, “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
2. Love Of Things Of This World: Because all the things in this world are designed to foster sins like the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life, according to 1 John 2:15-16, the Bible says in verse 15, “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.”
3. Disobedience To The Word Of God: So many people have lost their salvations in Jesus Christ and ended up going back to their vomit as in 2 Peter 2:21-22 through disobedience to the word of God. The Bible says in 1 Peter 2:8, “… They stumble, being disobedient to the word of God, to which they are appointed.”
I pray that none of these three things will deny any of us of the kingdom of God in Jesus' name.

Sometimes in life
What seems to be the end
Turns out to be a completely new beginning

What seems to be a breakdown
Turns out to be a breakthrough
That serves as a powerful catalyst for your growth and transformation

Is simply a detour or life redirecting you towards a better destination

Who killed Abel?
- His brother.
Who sold Joseph?
- His brothers.
Who expelled Jephthah?
- His brothers.
Who was jealous of David?
- His brothers.
Who was not happy with the return of the prodigal son?
- His brother.
Among so many examples in the Bible, we perceive that all those who have been betrayed and mistreated by their own brethren, have been greatly blessed and kept by God.
In life, people you have considered your family may turn their backs on you, their rejection may be a path God has planned for your glory. Only, never hold a grudge against them, pray instead for them and wish them well.
