Most people around me were wondering then why I was leaving such an apparently, ‘well-paid’ job and facing an uncertain future, even with the children still in school! What would you be doing? - They asked. At the point of signing the voluntary disengagement papers, I was somehow still scared even though I prepared for it. It was not so easy to walk away from a ‘secured’ employment, to face an uncertain future, but I knew within me that I just had to take the bull by the horn, having discovered a better way to use my time as an entrepreneur so as to have money, time and location freedom. Thank God I took that decision. My decision to quit the job, though delayed had its origin from some bitter lessons I learnt over the years, which taught me that entrepreneurship is the best option for me. Way back in late 90’s, many workers were getting retrenched midway into their career with most multinational oil companies in my country. As I watched many of my senior colleagues then leaving prematurely, the experience was not a palatable one. I saw matured men shedding tears, unhappy to leave their jobs like that; some of them came back just few years after retrenchment, looking for casual jobs or contract assignments that pay far less than the kind of salaries they were earning before they were forced out. The few who were re-employed had to report to their previous subordinates. I had to start making solid plans for myself should in case such an unplanned disengagement happened to me. I started some investment drives: tried my hands in stock and financial markets and a school joint venture, which did not work out as expected. I later registered an Oil & Gas Products Marketing Company and dabbled into quarry mining. Sometime in 2008, I also tried the online/internet affiliate marketing which was difficult to do then. Most of these business trials failed as expected, only the oil and gas products marketing side and the quarry mining business showed some glimpse of hope. My taking the bull by the horn was, however, made possible by what I discovered in late 2016. A friend introduced me to a website through a link where I could register for some training in Data Technology and Internet Marketing; a training that promised to be different from other such training I had tried before. That was how I found myself enthralled in the online marketing business niche. The best parts about this system is it’s done-for-you approach and providing you a coach to help you every step of the way, which gives you a high potential for success. Any serious minded person can do it actually! It is an awesome way to achieve financial freedom faster.
