NATAIS, IN COLLABORATION WITH NIGERIA'S ARABIC LANGUAGE VILLAGE, PRESENTS A MERIT AWARD TO HIS EXCELLENCY PROF. BABAGANA UMARA ZULUM, HON. JUSTICE UMAR RAMAT MUKAILA GRAND KADI OF BORNO STATE, AND OTHERS.

Hon. Grand Kadi Umar Ramat Mukaila Bag Merit Award during the 39th Annual National Conference organized by the Nigeria Association of Teachers of Arabic and Islamic Studies in Collaboration with NALV. The conference was held in commemoration of International World Arabic Day with the theme: Politics and Citizens' Welfare in Nigeria: The Role of Arabic and Islamic Studies.

The Hon. Grand Kadi was accompanied by his Chief Registrar, Barr. Ali Ismail Idriss, Esq.
He also presented awards to some of the recipients, including the founder of the Alfurkan Foundation, Dr. Bashir Aliyu Umar. He thanked the Director of the Nigeria Arabic Language Village, Prof. Ibrahim Muhammad, and the NATAIS President on behalf of the awardees.

Professor Ibrahim Muhammad Visits Borno State Grand Khadi of Sharia Court of Appeal:

".....said basic knowledge of Arabic is a prerequisite for any aspiring man to become a Shariah Court judge or Khadi of the Sharia Court"

In his bit to seek for collaboration with relevant institutions, agencies and oragnizations, the Director/CE NALV Ngala Professor Ibrahim Muhammad has yesterday paid a courtesy visit to the Grand Khadi of Borno state Sharia Court of Appeal, Honourable Khadi Umar Ramat Mikail. The director and his team were received the Chief Registrar at the main complex of the Sharia Court along Maiduguri Airport Road.

In his welcone address with nostalgia the Chief Registrar had told the gathering that, as a former student of the director of the village, he had immensely benefited from the bounties of knowledge, and experiences of Professor Ibrahim whom he described as father, mentor, teacher, who he said taught him many courses in Bayero University when he was a student in the 90s. The Chief Registrar elegized Professor Ibrahim Muhammad as someone who he said, he has benefited a lot from him.

In his opening remarks the Director/CE Professor Ibrahim Muhammad has expressed his appreciation to the Grand Khadi of Borno state Hon. Umar Ramat Munkaila for receiving him together with his large entourage in his office.

He informed the Grand Khadi that, Nigeria Arabic language village has some special Arabic classes for Jurges and Khadis of Sharia Court in the state. He said this is done in order to improve their Arabic proficiency. The director had informed the Khadi that, the village is collaborating with the military, paramilitery, NIC and other paramilitery agencies to train their personnel in Arabic language.

In his response Honourable Khadi Umar Ramat Munkaila thanked the director and his entourage for the visit and expressed his appreciation to the director/CE. Coincidentally the Honourable Grand Khadi was also his former student at Elkanemi College of Islamic Theology.
Honourable Mikaila said, it's a law that, one must have the basic knowledge of Arabic before aspiring to become a Shari'a Court judge. And he assured the director that, he would very soon start sending the Sharia Court judges and Khadis of Sharia Court for training by Arabic Village.

Once again the Grand khadia of Shari'a Court of Appeal has expressed gratitude to the director and his entourage to the visit and assured the director that the Sharia Court of Appeal would be collaborating with Arabic village so that more judges and Khadis of Sharia Court would be trained in Arabic which he said, one of the prerequisite to become a judge is to learn the basic Arabic knowledge he concluded.

Grand Kadi Umar Ramat Mukaila. The Award presentations was held in the Hon Grand kadi chamber in Maiduguri by the Association president Comrade Godiya T. Adam, Accompanied by 5 other exco members.
