This project, symbolizing a major step in regional development, was initially launched in 2012 and has now been completed under the diligent efforts of the current NDDC administration under the MD/CEO, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku.
Sir Antai emphasized the project's role as a beacon of hope, bridging infrastructure gaps and significantly improving the quality of life for residents of Okitipupa.
He noted that the new substation will provide a reliable power supply to Okitipupa, Igbokoda, and other surrounding communities, which have endured 15 years without electricity.
The project entailed the construction of a 45km double-circuit 33KV feeder line from Omotosho Power Station to Okitipupa, along with the establishment of two 30MVA, 132/33KV Injection Substations equipped with breakers, gantry, and substation automation. Additionally, a 3-bedroom semi-detached bungalow was built as service quarters.

The project's completion was also lauded by other key figures, including Senator Asuquo Ekpeyong, Chairman of the NDDC Senate Committee, and Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, Managing Director/CEO of NDDC, who both highlighted the initiative's alignment with the President's Renewed Hope Agenda and its potential to stimulate economic activities throughout the Niger Delta.

The Senate President's SLA, admonished Ini people to exercise patience with the APC-led Federal Government, stressing that by the time Obongemem Ekpo begins to unleash some of the goodies he has in the kitty to compliment Senator Akpabio's efforts in the state, APC will become the envy of opposition parties in Akwa Ibom.

"For those of you whose names appeared here today, you are in our first batch of beneficiaries, so im the second batch you will not be included, but we will continue to maintain this gesture until we touch everyone", Hon. Udo stated.

PDP LEADERS, DECAMPEES FIGHT OVER N500K
Following a seemly cold-war that broke out between the PDP Leaders and PDP Youths in Ikpa Nnung Asang Ward 2 over N500k decampees' appreciation funds from the State Working Committee (SWC) of the party, Nduk Town in Ikot Abasi LGA has been subjected into serious rattling.
Since Saturday, 31st March, 2024, after the PDP gathering in Nduk Town turned into a fighting gallery the party leaders and the youths have been threatening each other, using several agents including the Police.
A citizen of Nduk Town, simply identified as Mr. Akpan, who spoke with IbomRaveTV, disclosed that the Ikot Abasi Divisional Police Headquarters has sent a letter of invitation to the Town Council Chairman of Nduk Town, asking him to bring about four youths; all PDP members from the community to the Police Station for interrogation.
While responding to a question raised by Ibom Rave TV, Mr. Akpan revealed that the problem started when PDP leaders led by a man he simply identified as Mr. Ifot, absconded with the N500k meant for decampees in to the PDP in Ikpa Nnung Asang Ward 2.
According to him, the PDP youths seized a motorcycle which belongs to the PDP leader; Mr. Ifot, and they are demanding him to give them part of the N500k decampees money before he can take back his motorcycle.
Moreso, one of the protesting PDP youths while speaking with IbomRaveTV disclosed that their leaders are threatening to invade Nduk Town with a joint task force (JTF) of Police and thugs to rescue the motorcycle.
Meanwhile, another source in the PDP disclosed that since the trouble started the PDP leaders with the youths have attempted to explore several chances in order to settle but all attempts failed due to the insistence of the youths to collect their share of the money while the leaders on the other hand are unwilling to release not even a penny to them.
Some concerned citizens of Nduk Town have called on the leadership of PDP to intervened and settle the fracas before it degenerates in to something that will affect the entire community.
The COS of Nduk Town said that he believes the PDP understands that Nduk Town is not a PDP house but a settlement of law abiding Nigerians.
Therefore, he called on the State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, the PDP State Chairman, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Akpan, the Member representing Ikot Abasi/Mkpat Enin/Eastern Obolo Federal Constituency in the Green Chamber, Rt. Hon. Uduak Odudoh, and other PDP leaders to take action and ensure that the PDP fight does not extend to affect other settlers of the community.
