GOVERNOR UDOM EMMANUEL'S FOOTPRINT ON PEACE

In the last decade, global unrest has peaked and ditched previous records. This menace caused by a near endless list of factors has ravaged the economic weave of nations thus, affecting strategic strides geared at consistent leaps in economic growth.

From first world countries through third world countries, the rate of insurgent activities and criminal vices have posed a threat to the desired onward movement of countries and their sub regions. Time and again, these challenges have overruled the measures setup to eradicate and curb its spread sadly, the results are minimal and not sustainable.

Impressively, Akwa Ibom State under The Udom Emmanuel Administration has gone beyond imaginable borders to ensure that the peace of its land and people is preserved against all odds. This has immensely contributed to the growth of the state and Nigeria by extension. The palpability of its peaceful nature has been a magnetic force that drawn both national and foreign investors.

Upon emergence as Lead Citizen of the state, Governor Udom Emmanuel sought out measures with security agencies to purge Akwa Ibom of the preexisting excesses that brought dent to both the international and national image of the state. Ranging from kidnapping, incessant killings, armed robbery to cultism amongst others.

In 2018, His Excellency, Governor Udom Emmanuel moved for the ban on cultism, its activities and stringent measures meted against defaulters. This has morphed Akwa Ibom from being just an industrial hub to being the preferred alternative in terms of a resort to visit for recreational purposes, live and engage in lucrative business endeavors. Since the enactment of this ban tourism has experienced an upsurge.

With posterity in view a sustainable structure was setup by The Udom Administration to consolidate on the herculean efforts towards peace in Akwa Ibom known as MPM (Maintain Peace Movement). Created in the last quarter of 2021, this sect is vested with the responsibility of advancing peace and spilling its dividends beyond 2023. The Udom Emmanuel Administration and Completion Agenda also received commendations for the resilience in spreading the fragrance of peace from The People's Democratic Party (PDP).

GOVERNOR UDOM'S FOOTPRINTS ON SECONDARY HEALTH CARE FACILITIES

The degree to which a state enjoys holistic development is measured by the healthiness of its people and government's actions geared towards the upgrade of the health systems.
Globally, the causes of life threatening diseases are constantly on the rise, mortality rates are escalating and the means to curb the onslaught are seemingly overwhelming . Commendably, The Udom Administration in a bid to fulfill The Completion Agenda has diligently paid apt attention to these variables. In brace with the Commissioner for Health, Prof. Augustine Vincent Umoh, His Excellency Governor Udom Emmanuel has carefully observed the evolution in the health sector and has done nobly in seeing to it that his jurisdiction is not left out in this progression.

The creation of primary and secondary health care facilities aligns with the global evolution and the earnest desire of The Udom Administration to see to it that jobs are sufficiently created for those trained in the field of medicine, other health sciences and medical auxiliary demands. This has drastically reduced the dwindle in interest and serves as a beacon of hope for as many practicing medicine and those who envisage walking a path in the profession.

• Procured state-of-the art medical equipment EOCs

• Reconstruction and equipping of General Hospital, Etinan.

• Commenced Reconstruction of General Hospital, Ituk Mbang.

• Constructed Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) at Infectious Disease Hospital, Ikot Ekpene.

• Through medical subsets organized free screening & treatment of over 15,000 people for various eye diseases.

• Trained 20 Biomedical Engineers for maintenance of procured equipment.

• Made provision for residential quarters for 48 House Officers in the State Hospitals and 50 in the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital (UUTH)

• Moved for the accreditation for Schools of Nursing, with over 250 Registered Nurses

• Made provision for the training and Certification of 100 Doctors and Nurses in Basic Lives Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Lives Support (ACLS) with Medical Emergency Experts from the USA.

• Made procurement of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) and Electrocardiograph (ECG) Machines for use in Emergency Response (now fitted in ambulances).

• Restoration of services at Ibom Specialist Hospital/ Engagement of new management CLINOTECH Group, Canada for the hospital.

• Reconstruction of Oxygen plant at Ikot Ekpene for supply of oxygen to other hospitals in the state.

• Remodeled and Reequipped Immanuel General Psychiatric Hospital, Eket

In lieu of the COVID-19 pandemic that poised a threat to global and national economy and peaked mortality rates, The Udom Administration moved for the procurement of top notch medical equipments to manage the spread of the virus in Akwa Ibom State. This great feat brought the state and its leadership an appraisal from the Director-General, National Centre for Disease Control, NCDC. In company of officials World Health Organisation officials(WHO) Mr Chikwe Ihekweazu heartily commended the State Government on their swift response/compliance with the measures and the availability of the world class EOC, Mr Ihekwazu also noted that the provision of the EOC was not an expression of the government's benevolence and a pointer to the fact that the interest of the people is of great salience.

GOVERNOR UDOM EMMANUEL'S FOOTPRINT ON KINGS FLOUR MILL

Another milestone in the Udom Emmanuel's Completion agenda and fulfilment of his campaign promise to industrialize the state, create opportunities for the teeming youths and provide avenues for wealth creation gave rise to Kings Flour Mill through the Public Private Partnership of Governor Udom Emmanuel administration.

Located at Mkpok-Okad Village, Onna LGA, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, is the Kings Flour Mill which occupies 4.892 metres square of closed area with 47.406 metres square of open area.

The far-sighted Governor Udom foresaw the need to catapult Akwa Ibom into a state bubbling with industries and attract private Investors who will partner with the state to bring investment into Akwa Ibom.

Kings Flour Mill is built with high-tech full automated machines including: wheat flour milling machine, family workshop milling, flour milling plants, single sifter machine and the double roller mill.

It is worthy of mention that, the factory has different sections including the emergency unit, the administrative block, expatriates apartment, warehouse, tunnels for wheat and other raw materials.

The flour factory produces and packages wheat flour and semolina. With raw materials silos of over 15,000 tons capacity, the mill produces more than 500 metric tons of flour everyday and is capable of providing direct and indirect jobs for 1500 youths of Akwa Ibom State.

Agriculturist in the state are all out to explore the diverse opportunities that comes with the mill as Akwa Ibom is blessed with vast land area with good soil which is wheat friendly. This window will allow wheat farmers to venture into local production of wheat and also become major producers of raw materials for the mill.

Indeed Udom Emmanuel saw the future ahead and decided to turn Akwa Ibom into Nigeria's new industrial hub by creating industries and partnering with private Investors to bring investments to Akwa Ibom State.

Today, I worshiped and thanked God with the Akwa Ibom Church Leaders Alliances whose members are church youth president and Leaders of the 31 Local Government Areas.

We prayed for Governor Udom Emmanuel and wife, members of the state executive council, His Eminence Dr Sunday Mbang, Prelate Isaiah Isong and members of the fathers of faith.We also prayed for Almighty God to sustain the peace in the State.
