We had an absolutely amazing time today as we commemorated the WORLD KIDNEY DAY specialist hospital.
Knowledge was shared about kidney disease, its prevention and management.
It was a very interactive session, and we were truly pleased to see the keen interest displayed by participants. They asked important questions which were all answered, and we ended the day with screening of attendees.
Thanks to everyone who showed up, and of course to those who viewed the livestream.
Please remember to visit the hospital for your routine checks, and pamper your kidneys.

KIDNEY CARE

90% of Nigerians who had Chronic Kidney Disease did not know they had the disease until it was well advanced.
20,000 Nigerians develop end stage Kidney damage yearly, requiring dialysis and transplant to live.

Your health matters!
Lekan is a bubbly fellow, full of life and a very hard worker who cares a great deal for his family.
Living in the busy city of Lagos, he barely has a life. His routine is work-home, home-work, and a once in a blue moon hang out with the boys.
One of the things that Lekan rarely pays attention to is his health. No routine checks at the hospital, and even when symptoms of an illness surfaced, he self-medicated and moved on, saying it's just Lagos stress.
One day, while Lekan was out and about his hustles, he slumped. The fall was so hard that he hit his head. There was no visible bleeding, but at the hospital he was rushed to, his vital signs were checked, and guess what Lekan's blood pressure was reading? 200/140.
If you're hypertensive or have any knowledge of these things, you'd know Lekan was walking on 'Stroke Street'.
Now, because of the impact of the fall, a CT Scan of the brain was recommended. And the result confirmed that Lekan indeed had a stroke.
We will keep Lekan private that's why we didn't use his real name, but in our subsequent post, we will tell you more about this health condition, STROKE.
Stay connected to where we care about your limbs and provide you endovascular care and treatment.
After a long day, many of us skip brushing our teeth at night and head straight to bed instead.
However, brushing your teeth every morning and every night is crucial to maintaining good oral health and protecting your teeth against decay, cavities, bad breath and other oral health problems.
No matter how tired you may be, take two minutes to clean your teeth at night.
Have a pleasant week!
We have chosen to be happy because it is good for our health and yours!
Bringing you warm wishes from the Health Records department of Bayelsa Specialist Hospital.
NOTE: Half the costs of illness are wasted on conditions that could be prevented.
Visit the hospital today for your routine check!

⛔️Do not let what happened to Ebiowei happen to you!
Ebiowei, in his late 40s is a vibrant and energetic man, full of life. He was desperate to meet his financial obligations as a father, husband and employer, and so was constantly working hard.
Sleeping longer than 4hours was considered luxury for him, because he always has things to do and had to be up early to meet up. He barely exercised and didn't maintain a healthy diet. He ate whatever, whenever, so long as it's food, and never visited the hospital for a routine check.
Ebiowei had kept this routine for years, and one day when he was rushing to catch up with his routine activities, he felt this very sharp pain in his chest and that was all he could remember.
He was surprised to see himself on a hospital bed surrounded by loved one and clinicians, and when he asked what he was doing there, he was told he had suffered a heart attack.
"Heart attack? How come?" he asked. The doctor took time to explain to him the importance of heart health and the things he could have done better to have prevented this situation.
Now he knows better, and has made some major lifestyle modifications.
What about you? Are you protecting your heart health? Are you doing things to keep you healthy round-the-clock?
We don't want you to experience what Ebiowei experienced , that's why we are inviting you to join us for a HEART HEALTH SENSITIZATION on Friday, September 29, 2023.
It's World Heart Day on September 29th, and the team at will be commemorating this day with a heart health talk and free blood pressure checks.
Time: 10:00am
Don't miss this opportunity, and don't let what happened to Ebiowei happen to you.
It is more expensive to treat diseases than to prevent them. Save your money and save your life by building your wellness.
Health is Wealth!
Because of Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD), many have become amputees today. They lost their limbs because they could not get prompt interventions.
Many more are still suffering from PAD, and if there are no interventions they will also lose their limbs, by having to undergo unnecessary amputations.
This is why we have stepped up to bridge the gap with Endovascular treatment and surgery.
The ISEVS( International Society of Endovascular Specialist) USA, is set to hold the 6th Endovascular Conference 2023, in partnership with the Oyesis Global Medical Foundation, USA.
The objective of the conference is to;
• Promote the fundamental principles of endovascular surgery.
• Hold pragmatic discussions and clinical applications of relevant endovascular interventions.
• Address the challenges of endovascular care in Africa.
Participation:
Attendance is FREE but registration is compulsory.
Certificate of Participation attracts a fee.
