Ojo de Agua, Isla de Ometepe 🌀

Ojo de Agua is a natural spring swimming hole where you can relax in clear, pure, medicinal and healthy fresh water of volcanic origin.

Located on Ometepe island, between the Concepcion and the Madera volcanoes, we suggest you to arrive there early in the morning as it can get very busy, especially during weekends and public holidays.

The entrance fee for foreigners is 5$.

At the end of Guasacate beach you will find the « these pools », natural rock formations which stay filled with sea water at low tide.

If you go early in the morning, rest assured that you won’t find many other tourists, and you will eventually have the place all for yourself! 😁

Jiquilillo is located in Northern Nicaragua, about 2 hours drive from Chinandega, and 3 hours from Leon.
This remote beach will make you feel like a real Robinson, especially if you stay at the “Cabañas Vistas del Pacifica”.
wooden huts are located right on the beach, and you’ll fall asleep with the sound of the waves and the ocean melody 🌊🎶
The hut for 4 persons only cost 20$ (at the time of the visit), so don’t expect the greatest comfort, but the location makes it magical for a short stay!

🌋The Concepcion Volcano on Omotepe island is almost always covered with clouds. You’ll be lucky if it clears up when you are at the top!

But don’t worry, you’ll get amazing views all along the way before reaching the clouds! 🌿

It is the second highest volcano in Nicaragua (after San Cristobal), it has an altitude of 1610m.

🏃‍♂️ The hike is medium to difficult, especially because of the heat, and it also gets pretty steep just before reaching the summit.

👟 It takes anywhere from 3 to 6 hours to reach the top, but your efforts will be rewarded with great views! 😎😍

⚠️It is mandatory to do the hike with a local guide, so if you need a contact, feel free to DM us, we’ll be happy to share ut with you

💲Prices range from 15 to 20$ per person depending on the size of your group.

Managua, the capital city of Nicaragua is often overlooked and skipped by the tourists, who prefer to stay in cities like Leon or Granada closer to volcanoes and beaches.

The Old Cathedral of Managua (Catedral de Santiago) was built between 1928 and 1938. It is said that its neoclassical design was inspired by the look of the Saint-Sulpice church, in Paris.

The Church survived the 1931 earthquake but was heavily damaged during the 1972 one. Following this, the building was subsequently condemned. It has yet to be restored and reopened to the public.
