Caught in action: VU students squatting in class 🏋️ 'Het Scherdertje' is a movement introduced by Professor of Neuropsychology Erik Scherder. It allows for a 3-minute break during long lectures, helping to improve the physical and mental health of students. Squatting provides a boost to both areas, making it a great productivity hack. 🧠 We hope to see these small moments of movement become common practice on our campus! Never seen before... it's a hologram of Jeroen Geurts! 🙈 Both the hologram-version and our real-life rector spoke at our annual Education Day where the focus was on development-oriented assessment within education. It was a day filled with inspiration to take a broader view on learning, development and assessment for anyone involved in the education field. We also launched our vision for future-proof assessment. It's based on the core values of VU and describes how the learning process and testing can relate to each other.
