A promise against all odds: Spookrijder. Afgelopen maandag met Erik Woltmeier een eerste test gedaan op de ijsbaan Okkenbroek voor ons werk 'Spookrijder'. Wij gaan er voor zorgen dat je op 8 en 9 juni de schaatsers over het water kan horen rijden. Last Monday, Erik Woltmeier, Ivar, and I did a first test at the ice rink Okkenbroek for our work Ghost Rider. We are going to make sure that on June 8 and 9, you can hear the skaters riding across the water. We, as lovers of ice skating, got quite a few ambivalent thoughts when visiting the Bosbaan. The chances of skating on natural ice are getting smaller as the years go by. With that, a rink like this becomes something of a promise against all odds. A nostalgia. Op Drift / A Drift @MuseumdeWaagDeventer As part of the #IJsselbiënnale program, we made a selection from the #knechtdrenth collection using our fascination for mobility and traces as our curatorial direction. As artists, we responded with a site-specific installation in the historic basement. We worked on location, making prints of a collection of (not so historic) rubber tires. In this video, Esther takes you on a short tour.
