When Noisecult did a remix of my track "Got It!" back in 2014, we were planning to do a collab as well. We shared a bunch of snippets (work in progress) and one of them had this typical ATB-styled synth sound that we all loved. We decided to start working on that project together, but unfortunately that never happend...

When the Bazzleggerz set was announced, I went through all my old projects and I came across this one as well. It made total sense to convert it into a bootleg and play one of the most recognizable ATB melodies with that sound. Instant summer vibes for me, I hope you like it too!

We played this bootleg for the first time during our liveact at Defqon.1 Festival 2008. We already shared it before, but it has been remastered and it received the "lazy dj cut" (with short, 64 beat intro). Sorry for the mixing purists, but this helps us mix more quickly during our livesets. I feel more like a producer than a DJ anyways.

Day 10: Inspired by hardtrance

Revoluzion [2013]
Impulz Festival 2002 at Bussloo, near our hometown at the time, is where the love for this track started for Coen (Intractable One), while BK played it in his set. There was no 'shazam' at the time, but it wasn't hard to find out the name of this track when you listen to the vocals.

I'm not sure how we found out that we both love this hardtrance classic, but believe it or not, it's actually quite rare that we're both excited about the same track. Reason enough to start an edit / bootleg to be able to play it in our sets. Most of the work for this has been done by Intractable One and it's definately one of my favourites of all Bazzleggerz projects. It still has that hardtrance feeling, but with a nice little hardstyle edge.

It started as an edit of my track Feel Good, when we replaced the melody with that of a huge hardtrance banger. You might already know this as "Alphaverb - Feel Good (AVIO's Exploration of Space Edit)" but since we were rebranding all our bootlegs as Bazzleggerz tracks, this is the result.

I owned the original maxi single of this worldwide hit record and while checking it out in 2011, I noticed how the "Analog mix" had a bassline quite similar to hardstyle. I ended up playing that original version in my Substream Show at Q-dance Radio and also got inspired to do an actual hardstyle edit of it.

I used the kick & bass from Realization of a Dream, but it didn't feel special enough to actually play and probably a bit too "gimmicky" as well. When our Bazzleggerz set was announced I searched for the project again and decided to finish it into a playable version, just in case...

Playing at Reverze 2010 as AVIO, we wanted to do something special. We checked the top tracks in the Belgium charts close to the event and this instantly had us exited to do a bootleg. The melody had so much portential, so we got to work and played a quick edit...

Eventually the original project got corrupted, so it took a long time for us to share it. It wasn't untill 2012 before we shared this version for the first time, after reconstructing it with the parts that were still available.

Day 8: Life or death?

>> Kill The Snitch (I Love It) [2013]
At 26th of december 2013 we did an AVIO liveact for Penoze: Kill The Snitch. While driving, I heard this sentence during a popular song at the time, saying "we got to kill this switch" and I felt it could well go on for "kill the snitch" with some editing...

I imported the vocals in a project I was working on at the time, so I could test how it sounded. So this was basically a work-in-progress, but to be fair; the mixdown / mastering in this version is probably better than the track that was released later on in 2014. We never shared this version before, as it was only a minor edit. I hope you enjoy it.

Day 6: Do you like routine and planning? I sure do, but these unexpected / unplanned moments were exactly what I needed.

The oldest bootleg of the bunch. The last time I worked on the project was 2005, but it was actually made in 2003. I remember very well, because I asked the resident DJ in a local club to play it and he did! What made it more special, was the fact he kept playing it in his sets for several weeks without me asking. That was unexpected and before I even had an official release on my name, so it motivated me to keep going.

I ripped the kick and bass from DHHD tracks Funky S**t (kick) and Rush (bass) that were popular at the time, sorry guys... The distorted kick was my own sound design though and sounded really 'fresh' at the time. It was produced at 144BPM back then, so I recently exported it to Cubase and reworked and remastered it into this 150BPM version.

This actually started as an original Alphaverb track and it really had the summer vibes I was looking for, but instead of my original melody, the one that ended up in there kept popping up in my mind... I tried changing it and it fit perfectly. It was way more catchy and I had no choise but converting the track into a bootleg that wasn't planned.

It became one of my most played tracks in the summer of 2011, it was a massive floorfiller. When I opened up the project for the Bazzleggerz showcaze, I was surprised to find a more dark climax in there that I totally forgot about and I kind of liked hearing it again. So I kept it in there as a 'surprise' after the outro and I've also added the original Ecaudor vocal to make it even more of an actual bootleg.

Everybootly Leg Now [2006]
This is one of the earlyer bootlegs I've done. At a time I did them to learn about music production and develop myself. I came across the acapella, such an iconic dance track with the most recognizable vocals and was inspired to make my own version. Gated kicks with the original synth stabs sounded so good to me.

I played it during a radio set at Fresh FM in 2008, but I dont think I played it at any events, because sound wise it's not the strongest of my work. Let me know if I'm mistaken. I've exported all sounds from the software it was produced in (Jeskola Buzz) and imported them into Cubase, to be able to change it from 140BPM closer to 150BPM and also came across some unused parts to finish it off. Hope you like it.

This started as a remix for Italian DJ Vortex, which was a great honor for me. Interesting fact: The vinyl pressing was bad, which made the needle skip during my remix. For that reason I shared the full version as a free download and included an edit with this well known-melody.

More than 15 years laters I opened the original project and found some unused part in this project as well, including another gated kick... So this has technically been shared before, just slightly different.

Day 4: Things you don't want to happen...

La Bozzinitudine [2010]
DJ's canceling their booking at your event... it started as an intro for our AVIO liveact in 2010, when we played at 'Harder IV' in a club called Bozzini. The line-up of this party kept changing, so we made a bit of fun about it by editing the lyrics of a well known pop song.

This full version does not include these vocals, as the lyrics were in Dutch and very specific for that single event. We did keep the "Bozzizle" vocal though, as we feel it's nice and rhythmic. The melody is super energetic, exactly how we like it.

Rain to fall at your outdoor event... when it does happen though, you want to be prepared and have the perfect track to play. So I decided to do this bootleg to be ready when it hit... I remember we had an awful summer (weather wise), but I never had any rain during my sets on outdoor stages. Lucky me! Just before the final outdoor booking that year, I made it available as a free download. Since then, it has only had a small remaster.

We already gave away this bootleg years ago as 'BZLGZ001', but it has been remastered to sound more clear and powerful. Fun fact: One of the original producers, Bas Tichelaar, reached out to us for a possible release at the time, but unfortunately the label wasn't interested.

We noted the melody of No Alternative is quite similar to that of Kernkraft 400, so we did a quick edit in 2012. This version gave such a big crowd response, we still play it in our sets today!

On the 10th of october 2009 we played a DJ set at Xqlusive Holland, but more importantly; we did an AVIO liveact at Twisted in Haaren. For our intro we bootlegged this trance classic and the response was amazing! This is the first time we share the full mixable version as we simply never finished it before.

Freed From Dezire [2016]
During Euro 2016, the original track was 'hot', telling us all the Northern Irish striker Will Grigg was on fire! I had a remix running through my head and it was very much inspired on the Noisecontrollers track "So High".
It has only received a small change on the mastering EQ, compared to the version that I gave away before.

Intents Festival sunday ⚡️⚡️ there couldn't have been a better moment to play a Bazzleggerz set! Amazing crowd, amazing weather, it all fit together so well.

As promised, we gave away 100 free CD's called "The Showcaze" with 22 bootlegs, remixes and DJ tools, mixed at 154bpm in a total of 66 minutes and 22 seconds.

To finalize our "Bazzlegacy" we'll be sharing the full versions of these tracks in the upcoming weeks, starting with the ones we've done for Intents Festival more than 10 years ago.

Launch The Spaceman [2010]:
The theme that year was "The Ultimate Universe" and we played at "The Launch Stage". We didn't need to think very hard what club classic we wanted to bootleg for our AVIO liveact. We never took the time to make a 'DJ version' out of it, but here it is...

Hands Up For The Greatest Magic On Earth [2011]:
One year later the theme was "The Magical Mystery" and the magic is what we went with. I just did a remix for Jon the Baptist and DJ Chuck-E called The Greatest Show On Earth and we decided to replace the melody with the most sinister magic... another AVIO intro was born.
Eventually I decided to mash it up with another one of my tracks to be able to play it (as our intro's are not dj-friendy) and this is the result. Shared before, but I've redone the mashup to fix some flaws that were present in the first version, so it's much more of a "whole" now; melody announcement before the mid, no echo's from original vocals (Madrid), better timing in the break...

This area is meant for raw hardstyle classics, but seeing we're playing early, it will be sunny and you'll need to recharge from friday and saturday... there will probably be a healthy amount of melodies in our set, combined with our typical overdriven kicks of course 💀 Are you ready?

We've been playing hardstyle classics for a while now and those tracks are often requested because they bring atmosphere, but we usually don't want to play too many in a regular AVIO set to prevent it from feeling like one big "gimmick".

That's exactly what this will probably become and it's more than fair we do this special set here. Two of the tracks were created for Intents when we still did intro's for our AVIO liveact; in 2010 we made "Launch The Spaceman" and in 2011 we did "The Greatest Magic On Earth".

Next to Bazzleggerz tracks, you can expect edits like Feel Good (Exploration of Space Edit) during this set, as long as it's a bootleg we did.

I've been going through some old projects and came across this Bazzleggerz bootleg of a trance classic by Spoiled and Zigo. I placed a kick underneath the original track back in 2008 and didn't play it a lot, but since it's one of my favourite tracks ever I decided to fresh the project up and remaster it. I've been playing it in my recent hardstyle classic sets and the crowd response has been huge!

Should I use my 90 minutes to play an ‘EVOLUTION of style’ set tomorrow? Including tracks that inspired me throughout the years?

I know older tracks might not be considered ‘raw’, but even before it got that label there have always been hardstyle tracks with a rougher edge to it. Like the Deepack Remix of X2X from 2003 🔥

Working towards my track Scary Voices from 2013, it could be a nice journey to get into the mood as I’m playing quite early.
