Volgende week zondag, 27 november, spelen wij om 15.00 in Ontmoetingscentrum Semsstraatkerk .
Wij spelen verschillende klassieke stukken uit de Midden-Oosterse muziek. Daarnaast spelen we drie nieuwe composities die speciaal voor ons vorige concert (op 3 juli) gecomponeerd waren.
Het concert dat mede mogelijk gemaakt was door Fonds Podium Kunsten. Drie nieuwe composities toegewijd aan het MezzopTrio. De eerste, "Oh River" gecomponeerd door Wassim Ibrahim. De tweede "Contretemps" geziek, componeerd door سعاد بشناق Suad Bushnaq en de derde " Paper Boat" is gecomponeerd door onze pianiste Setareh Nafisi

About us
MezzopTrio
Derived from a land 'between rivers' now to be found 'between lands'.
These three musicians bring together elements of Eastern and Western music. They play both original, and their own arrangements, of repertoire from Middle Eastern, Armenian and Dutch composers, and to bring even more of themselves to each performance they also tell their own stories through improvisation. Three musicians from the Middle East, from Syria and Iran. Three different cultures finding common resonance in their music.
MezzopTrio adds new colours to the musical palette on Dutch stages. Rani, has developed his own technique to play Eastern scales not usually possible on a classical trumpet, Karoun effortlessly shows her diverse cultural influences through her distinctive cello playing, and Setareh adds a wealth of hues with piano, with poetry, and with daf (a percussion instrument from Iran).
