Installation 'NON'
This installation is the second act after discontinuing my regular collection of commercial jewelry on April 15th, a clear “NON” that it was. The remaining jewelry has been melted - scorched earth is the most fertile - and with the material, I create new forms, and with those forms, I tell my stories.
Over the past 5 months, I have reflected on my role as an artist, a global citizen, a mother to my daughters, the present, the past, and the future. What continued to resonate was a desire to say “NON” for a variety of reasons:
NON to systemic injustices,
NON to feeling powerless in climate issues,
NON to helplessness in a straitjacket where humanity and nuances seem subordinate to numbers, convenience, and superficial prosperity
- pause - stop - this can be different - NON
so that afterwards I can say “yes” more wholeheartedly, freely, lovingly.
In the art form that resides in my fingers, I created a “NON,” you wear it as a necklace, this conversation piece. When you wear it, “NON” is seen, and you have an easy way to say “NON” or open a conversation about anything that is “NON.”
“NON” is not for sale; I will raffle it. To have a chance to win this golden “NON,” you can purchase a lottery ticket via the QR code. For sharing the “NON” post on Instagram once, you will receive a free ticket, let’s have this conversation together.
Another thought: saying no seems difficult, it seems to be inherent in human nature to be socially desirable, but still, I feel that many people suffer from saying yes too much. Is it possible that there are too many choices and opportunities, and with them, too many questions to which you might want to answer “NON” for you actually need to take a moment to think about it?
The reflections are never-ending, and I look forward to many good discussions about what “NON” can be and what others understand about “NON,” but for now, I want to think a bit more…

But not today, today I work and think, and with warmth, I say “NON.”

INSTALLATION 'NON'
In my atelier, you see a contemplation in the form of art. You cannot enter my studio this weekend, where I continue to work. It would be lovely if you take a moment to look inside where I continue to work further. I block your access to this installation but not your view as a call for… just a moment… time for reflection, contemplation, distance, humanity, and also for vulnerability. Being observed while I work is intimate.

These are my reflections of the past months, not a clear opinion, judgment, or solution, but let this installation also be a gentle plea for humanity.
two weeks ago... -
week ago... Twee weken geleden inmiddels alweer.. Het was een prachtig afscheid en een fantastisch begin! Bij deze een kleine impressie van de dag.
*|Two weeks ago the big goodbye now a preview of the new… this 14ct necklace with 5 vintage diamonds and a surprise baguette diamond in the back. Newsletter to be send out today and this necklace will be soon online…
*| Oh what a day…. The word was out for some time but now the date was there. Yesterday celebrating the main collection was the most heartwarming way to mark its end and rejoice in the new paths ahead.
Thanks for all who came, the messages, the cards all.
Still taking it in…
Vive le feu! - https://mailchi.mp/6cdcb7b34f67/vive-le-feu a little less then one week to go!
*| Vive le feu? What I mean with vive le feu is that… I was not kidding that this really will be the last week of the main collection. Inspired by the sentence in the song from Jacques Brel that from burned soil comes fertility and the rejuvenating power of fire; the main collection will be recycled after Saturday. Meaning that all that remains will be melted and the metal recycled into something new.
Note: I will not be doing a sale on the collection if you were waiting on that.. I will however even though this collection will be more unique after, not up the prices either 😉
*| ONLY ONE WEEK!! With every order now you will get your items beautifully wrapped in these boxes. Vive le feu! Inspired by Brel song ‘ne me quite pas’ a burned ground is more fertile one. That was what made me choose wheat for the last limited boxes. The fundament of prosperity this humble, resilient and beautiful crop. 🌾
*| And another great collegue and sweet friend . We started out with some work together and a very nice afternoon of just playing around with colors and ended up with a fantastic shoot with the beautiful .bergers. Can’t wait for the next afternoon just making beautiful images 🤍
*| another photographer I loved working with was . This bubbly, beautiful, funny lady has an eye for warm, loving, caring photo’s. Thank you my deR Helena and see you soon!
In the photo the last addition to the collection; the 10+1 collection. A versatile necklace that comes with separate bangles to fir with your occasion or mood.
*| with every collection there was a story at the base or call it inspiration. A startingpoint that would come from a very personal interest, believe and/or wish. And with every collection one of the bigger parts of getting this idea across was getting the photography of the jewelry right. I’ve worked several times with . Our collaboration was from the get go one of very little words, intuitively we understood each other. The image here is from the collection la simplicité volontaire and shows the clarté bracelet in a context close in atmosphere of what I ment at the start if designing this collection. Working with them was never less the inspiring, I am sure we will work together again be it in a different form.
*| Petit pois or little peas. They have been in the collection as well from the beginning. The fun part is that they dangle. With every item I’ve designed and made; it is one thing to design a nice jewel but next part is how does it fit a body. The whole collection was always tested by wearing it and specifically how the items catch the light. It is that that catches the eye and makes it stand out however subtle the piece may be, as long as they shimmer just a little bit when you move. As with all items this is a good bye. Thank you little peas, you cute and funny beauties.
Programma 15 april - https://mailchi.mp/bd50cf170da2/programma-15-april
*| The - very - first earrings of the collection. Tout en rond.
Made in the collection “l’imagination est plus importante que le savoir “ [Albert Einstein] celebrating the imagination obviously. Making this first collection the slate was still empty. Only in my imagination there was already a collection and a future. Saying farewell to this collection is in a way emptying the slate anew. After 13 years it is liberating and as said in an earlier post I do feel a sense of mourning.
It feels fitting to celebrate the never ending circles in life. Tout en rond, n’est-ce pas?
This an hommage to these beauties. Thank you for the circles we have made together.
We have 4 goldplated and 5 silver left of these may they fare well in your ears.
*| ~ the word is out ~
How do you write a love letter to say goodbye to one of your big loves and to talk about continuing in a new form? A letter about the pride you feel for the past, where relief and a heavy heart are equally present, with fear for the unknown intertwined with a childlike energy of a fresh new page?
This April marks thirteen years of working with devotion, love, and great pleasure on the eleven collections that have become the main collection. It is with no false modesty that I can share that I am really proud of this collection. Partly of the shape my ideas have taken; mostly of how the pieces were received and are still worn with such love and warmth.
And still, after thirteen years, it is time to say goodbye to the main collection. So, from 15th April, I will only take on commissioned work, such as wedding rings, the reshaping of heirloom jewellery, or just creating a beautiful piece to celebrate life. For you, as individual clients, with your beautiful stories.
Besides this, I will work on commissioned collections such as an up coming collection for the Rijksmuseum and Sukha Amsterdam. I will also continue with the one-of-a-kind pieces, all unique.
The main reason behind this decision is that I find myself in a place in my career where I feel the need to tell more. The practical side of maintaining a collection has taken up too much of my creativity. Every collection I have made was developed from a personal interest, inspiration, or concept. I worked these ideas into the jewellery I created, as well as into the names worn by the collection, and the photography, packaging and presentation accompanying the jewellery. In recent years, through taking on more individual assignments from clients, in which your stories have been such an inspiration, I felt a discrepancy with my main collection. Through the (welcomed) larger-scale production of the jewellery, the stories behind the collections fell out of focus. I now choose to refocus on the stories again, through saying goodbye to the main collection to create space for new stories and tailor-made jewellery.
More in the captions - letters are often to long for socials 🤍
*| the word is out!
*| It has been a while since my last post... this almost feels like going to confession...
I have been silent on Instagram because I needed time to think but it has resulted in a very big decision and with that I have an ANNOUNCEMENT to make. It requires quite a lot of words and it required me to find these words, wrapping my head round what I want to say and what I want to be heard. I am almost there and will spill the beans first in my newsletter going out this Thursday. This for now is a kind invitation to subscribe to my newsletter. Some things are best said in a letter, right?
*| Their firstborn was born last november, his arrival is a story of many chapters. Heartship, courage, exceeding any expectations of herself and as a couple complete vulnerability and with that strength and faith. The father of this child born in a couple with more life lessons any kid could wish for asked me to make a piece marking his arrival. Marking the start of this new book. We decided on a silver seedling of which one petal is placed on the ring his mother wears. The coexistence of these two objects, the not so fragile seedling carefully placed in a antique jewelry box underlining the care they have for their seedling and the sturdiness of their silver seedling empowered by the wisdom from the lives of his parents.
*| With the stones she had collected during a lifetime of travelling the globe she came to the workshop with the idea of turning them into pieces for her family. This was one of pieces we made. A set of the earrings for her daughter. 14 diamonds dangling under two stunning emeralds set in 22ct gold. New heirlooms already with a beautiful story.

*| all through a lifetime I’ve been loving you and the day after forever I’ll just start again. One word of this poem on every pendant. Together making the poem, individually maybe the start of a new phrase or motto. Wearing a thought with others, sharing a poem.
*| they met a little later in life but they did and it was the start of a new life. The few years they have had together condensed a lifetime into just these few years yet forever intertwined. Years may not even matter in what is larger then life and time? His departing or more so his remaining prescence was the request we got when she asked us to alter their wedding rings and the engagement ring he had given her. All is connected now and the wedding rings wind around her finger combined to one. She keeps them close, as they were and still are.
*| Our bracelet *clarté* one of our classics. Elegant, everyday and special all at the same time. It has been in the collection for 5 years already from the collection ‘la simplicité volontaire’
We can make it personal by adding text or making it in you family gold.
*| It must be 6 ago we got to make her wedding ring with a beautiful tourmaline. Now for their second child - a very happy and sunny girl - she wanted to add a ray of gold to her wedding ring. As with their wedding rings we used - the left over - family gold to give their bright second child a place on her mothers hand. We love to make jewelry to fit personal stories. Don’t hesitate to contact us - just to say I added the book-button to our profile and I feel like a wizzkid
*| Inspiration |* . Poetic structures in everyday objects. The human body naturally is such a source of inspiration. It’s force, resourcefulness, beauty, flexibility, structure, intelligence. What I love in this photo is the stillness in the dance making this body an object
*| looking back at . Thanks to all that visited, looking forward to new collaborations and sales-points.
