Marina Terkourafi joined Leiden University as the new Professor of Sociolinguistics in January of this year, kicking off with her first lecture for International Studies in the Elective "Languages of the World". Prof. Terkourafi specializes in sociolinguistics and pragmatics, with a research focus on politeness and impoliteness.
