Taking care of YOU
What do you do to treat yourself? Are you taking some rest & some me time?
I notice myself that I am very easily distracted and very sensitive for stimuli. I am now aware of me doing this and I try to be conscious about it.
I try to say โnoโ more often and try to stay true to myself. Itโs a hard competition sometimes with me and my mind, but Iโm getting better at it!
I rest with doing NOTHING really. Just sit, relax, light my candles, read a book if I feel like and just be in the moment & in my own body. Also listening to classical music is one of my favorite things to do. It gives me so much rest!
I also love taking walks and treat myself with a good coffee. I smile to the people around me or I suddenly have great talks with strangers. This really lights up my day.
I just want to remind you, that there is no need to rush. Youโre not obligated to do so. Feel what you need and when you need it & protect your energy and your own worth. โจ๐ผ
CHOOSING OTHERS OVER OURSELVES
Why is it that we forget ourselves so often?
Is it because we donโt love and respect ourselves enough? Is it because we find other people more important?
I know I can work more on my self-esteem. I say โyesโ way too much even if I donโt want to do it. Call me a people pleaser sometimes ๐ฅด
Itโs getting better though! I train it by talking positively about myself - I accept compliments - I try not to critisize myself too much & I know my worth.
When our self-esteem is higher, we not only feel better about ourselves, we are more resilient as well. We are likely to experience common emotional wounds such as rejection and failure less painful, and bounce back from them more quickly.
I notice that too in this bumpy life. Things get easier over time and I know how to deal with situations better and better.
Time for you to love yourself as well if you donโt already!! ๐ฅฐโจ

If we define fear, we could say it is alerts us to the presence of danger or the threat of harm.
We experience fear, because of the unknown outcome.
Uncertainty and the prospect failure can feel scary. And because of this, most people will choose to
stay in their unfulfilled environment to avoid misfortune.
Will you forever choose comfort over discomfort? Because staying in your safe space will not take
you to that different lifestyle. You have to make a change.
So tell me, are you better off than you were one week ago? If not, youโve got to realize that things
wonโt improve by themselves. It is time for you to stop and JUMP.
If you just decided, heck yes I AM going to jump. Probably the โwhat ifsโ come to mind. So letโs zoom
in and fix these.
To overcome fear, we first need to define it. Define the worst case scenario that could happen if you
did what you are now considering. Would it be a permanent impact?
If this is your worst case scenario. What could you do to fix these things? Is it actually that bad as you
first thought?
Then define the best case scenario and weigh the risks. If you decide making a change, will the
outcome be better for the positive? Iโd say probably.
Now remember - fear holds us back from doing what we actually need to do. It is time to stop
postponing and take action. Because most false steps are being made because of standing still.
I asked myself these questions above as well. And as I was writing it out, I realized that none of these
fears made sense. If it actually turns out badly, I would still be me, I would still have a roof over my
head and I would find another job that covers my rent & checks.
The only thing is, that I spend time on doing what I love to do and I challenged myself for the better
This doesnโt sound like a waste of time to me!
What is it about me & camping?!
Some may say itโs crazy to actually enjoy to lay in a tent on a little mat of 50 inches.
Guess I am crazy then.
I do have to say it gives me neckaches sometimes, but it still feels good to sleep close to the ground & outside like that.
For me it is a time where I donโt feel rushed or stressed. I wake up whenever I feel ready to start the
day, which is quite early most of the time. I use my little โCAMPINGAZโ to boil water for the amazing
taste of instant coffee. I only have one gas ring so I make my granola afterwards. Therefore I cannot
drink my coffee while having breakfast because then my coffee gets cold. Thatโs what I call a good
life ๐
What I love about this is that there is time for just anything!
And for me, time is luxury. Not money or materials.
If you havenโt tried camping (either on your own or with your cool friend), this is your call to do so.

A lot has happend, especially in the mind. And I learned and felt that nothing good will happen if you just sit and wait. So itโs time to keep my eyes on the ball and kick some ass with it! At least keep the ball rolling ๐

The past year had made me realize you can easily chill without anyone noticing ๐
Grateful ๐ฅฐ
Iโve been making gratitude lists since recently and I get the idea behind it! Weโve got to practise being more
grateful for what we have. We tend to complain quickly, but if we trick the mind into focusing on what we do
have โ we will appreciate life more.
Today I was grateful that Iโve gotten to know my dad. He past away in November 2016 due to cancer (Neuroendocrine tumours). I could be sad and angry that heโs gone, but I can also appreciate that I still had a wonderful dad in my life for over 16 years. Since the first week I accepted that he chose to take the plug.
It didnโt ease the pain and grief, but it definetly helped with accepting it. Itโs better like this, but I still canโt help that I still miss you every single day.
Today I received a video from my mum, containing my dad and his well-known mischievousness. Bloody hell, I
am the same! I have the same mischief in my eyes as he does. When I look at that I truly wish he was here
with me so we could joke around. But also take advice, because lots of times I am not even sure what I am actually doing. I miss him with every bigger decision/achievement I make, I miss him when I want to tell him a story & I miss his hugs and the way he sneezes.
Despite all of that,
I am grateful Iโve known him for more than 16 years
I am grateful I already know what advice he would give me, because I feel like I know him so well
I am grateful for still remembering his voice, how he smells and how he sneezes
Might sound weird, but perhaps youโll get it.

Apparently they say the numbering it isnโt natural, but habitual. The ones that get most succesful donโt have a number. Youโve got to be willing to try and fail, because thatโs how we get what we want.
And we shouldnโt see failing as a a bad thing. It gives us the oppurtunity to learn, grow and better ourselves.
Are you scared of failure?
I know I still have these fears. But by becoming aware of them, we can overcome them. ๐
Boredom? ๐ฅฑ
Nowadays it feels like itโs almost vanished! When we are about to get bored we grab our phones, watch YouTube videos, scroll through Instagram or whatsoever.
I have to be honest with you. I wrote this because my Netflix account was disabled for my screen (too many were watching) so I didnโt let myself get bored there for a while. But perhaps it was a sign that I needed to write ;)
But itโs weird isnโt it? When we were young we constantly needed to keep ourself entertained. Playing with our stuffed animals, kick a ball or just staring through the window. Now the phone does all the activity for us. You donโt even have to think of what video you want to watch since itโs already playing!
I think, for me, social media is killing my creativity.
Beforehand, I do want to mention that I believe social media can increase some creativity. It can be a source of inspiration, you can gain knowledge quickly โ plus, designers can use great apps and a huge platform to put their work out there.
BUT
For me a lot of it is time loss: however I am now more focused on topics that relate to me or my business.
I just miss to be bored and let my mind wander of. So thatโs why I am trying to bore myself more. Does that make sense? I would like to get more creative & follow my desires instead of what social media has decided for me. I already lessened being active on Facebook and Instagram, but because of the business - turning it off completely isnโt an option.
And by the way, I love doing nothing! Sometimes nothings comes to mind, and other moments many ideas will flow. I feel totally fine with the both of them. Thoughts may enter, and if they donโt make sense: they can leave ;)
I wish I wrote as fast as I type. I like pen and paper. But oh well, weโll do it the modern way xx

Our consumption habits are driving the climate change
Consuming less means wasting fewer resources and thinking more seriously about sustainable options for living.
Here are some tips that help:
1. Buy eco-friendly products
Do not buy products containing hazardous materials โ ๏ธ The air in your home can be damaging to your own health, to wildlife and to the environment.
2. Pay with cash
Most people have an emotional attachment to cash, which is not felt in the same way when you spend with a card. This makes it easier to stick to a budget and remain mindful of spending on things you donโt really need.
3. Grow your own food
Not only does it have mental and physical health benefits, it saves you money, and forces you to think more about where your food comes from, it also compels you to waste less of it.
Sidenote:
While it's great to buy eco-friendly products, it's even more important to reduce our consumption, which globally, is on the rise. Think two times before you purchase something, and ask yourself if you really need it.

I believe we all share a common thing. Something we all have at heart. The thing I am talking about is JOY ๐ค
We want it for ourselves and we want it for others to have.
I personally feel that there is a thin line between โmaking other people feel happyโ and โpleasing othersโ. Lots of times I try to please others, forgetting my own sake. And that, my friends - is a mistake!
But thankfully in time we learn, we grow and we become more conscious of what we do or become. I now think about my necessities first, instead of doing what others expect or want me to do.
I get my energy from nourishment, but mostly from other people (although sometimes it costs lots of energy too ๐)
My favourite phrase at this moment is:
If someone is too tired to give you a smile, leave one of your own โ because those are the ones that need it the most.

Go for it. And step out of your zone ๐ค๐ฝ

I tried to welcome the happy emotions, but they wonโt enter! I have lots of pain in my shoulder and itโs the only thing I can think about. Or other stupid emotions come to mind.
I canโt wait to go to sleep and (hopefully) wake up in a better, healed body.
& I know itโll all be fine ๐
The positive side of it:
I now believe have legitimate reason to make an appointment for a massage ๐ So thatโs what I did hehe.
Tonight I have two team calls and Iโm sure that will make me feel more lively than how Iโm feeling now.

When walking in the streets I always say ๐โโ๏ธ to a passer-by. The smile I get from them makes me feel cheery.
Also I enjoy being extra thankful in supermarkets. The energy (or astonishment ๐คช) you receive back is crazy.
I believe you will always receive back the amount of love that you also give to others.
Perhaps not at that same time, or the same person. But it will come.
Just make sure you are surrounded by supportive people where you can be yourself with.
I am surrounded by the loveliest friends in my town, a wonderful mom & sister and a community that cheers me up all the time!

Is what Oprah Winfrey asked in a podcast I was listening to.
And I wish I sat down and write without any blockings. But I do. So Iโve got to embrace that some things wonโt come that easily!
I am starting to know my why. But bit by bit.
Iโve had an appointment with a study career advisor. Even though I donโt feel like studying now, I do think it was a great opportunity to find out what my interests and competences are.
She is a great help for me finding my purpose as she would listen and repeat.
In the end of our meeting she summarized me.
The main purpose is โ๐บ๐ฎ๐ธ๐ฒ ๐ผ๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ผ๐ฝ๐น๐ฒ ๐ต๐ฎ๐ฝ๐ฝ๐.โ
But how do I want to do that? It is so broad!
I always doubted if I would fully enjoy helping others working in healthcare, but I do know that I love a certain part of it.
My advisor asked me these questions:
โIf you would work in your own bar, would you miss caring for people?โ I said no, not really.
โIf you would care for people, would you miss working at your own bar?โ I said yes.
Canโt make it clearer than that!
But there is a side of me that still wants to care for others, but in ๐บ๐ผ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐๐๐.
I started to look online for voluntary work and I looked for a buddy! Itโs a great opportunity to fill voids in other peoplesโ life, whilst it does the same for me :)
Iโll keep you posted on how the search will go. But for now... Donโt ask me any further future questions about my future ๐
What I do know is that I will smash this business so I can do whatever I want in a couple of years!!
Itโs a beautiful journey that will lead me to wonderful places. ๐ฅฐ๐ฅฐ

Lovely to speak to strangers. Talk about the weather, the ice, or just smile at them. Love how others appreciate this as well. Felt like the whole coronacrisis wasnโt there. Just breathing air and enjoying our time TOGETHER โค๏ธ
I am so excited for when itโs finally over. I think our gratefulness will increase even more and more!

This morning I looked into a little notebook I used to write in when I was younger. The first page said: โWhen I need to think, I do not write.โ ๐
It was nice reading the things that I wrote back then. And I recapped it!
I have to say, on the age of 13 I already wrote like I was a wise owl. ๐ฆ But then a childly wise owl. ๐ง๐ฆ I wrote for example about the relationship with my sister, and the relationship with my best friend at that time. But the one that sticked to me the most were some words about life. ๐ฑ
I mentioned that some things are bound to run out, but we shouldnโt let that get in the way of moving forward.
I cannot remember exactly what the poem all said, but while reading it, I thought: if this little girl already knows this much โ why am I sometimes still a child in doing what I need to do.
Procrastinating, not being satisfied with the work, having obstacles...
It shouldnโt keep you from moving to the right direction. Donโt give up little Floor and grown-up Floor. Roads always will be bumpy, but the destination is close by.

My journey
It took me a while to โlandโ and I didnโt know what I was doing at all. A lot of information and the start of a whole new life...
I started this business about 1,5 months ago and I kind of felt that I would be lost forever. However, since last week I feel more intrinsically motivated and finally worked out some goals that I ๐๐ถ๐น๐น achieve.
I made them more personal and I know I need to fully commit myself to it ๐
I spent more time on my โwhyโ and now I feel that a lot is gonna happen in the upcoming months...
All I can say is that I am excited as hell and I hope you are too with whatever youโve been doing ๐๐

Yesterday I was journaling and a lot of thoughts came to mind. I realized that I am constantly looking for a better life, even though I already enjoy my life so much.

The (unconscious) pressure of this society makes me think I need to achieve more in order to fulfill my life. But
what the heck am I actually saying. I already do what makes me happy, and yet I am still waiting for something to come my way.
That something is โto master something in life.โ But thinking about it: the only thing I
actually want to master is the knowledge of myself.
My friend helped me out with reflecting by constantly asking me โwhy, why, why.โ And then I became to realize that it was all to achieve the highest level of happiness.

What do I need to be a happy person? I will tell you: not much. Because I AM happy. But why am I still catching myself from time to time that I deprive myself. Telling I am not as successful as others and constantly comparing even though I say I donโt.

We all set goals to reach ultimate happiness. But when will it ever be enough? And what goals will
make sure I will get there? I need to stop thinking that I will achieve happiness by having more of what I already have.

If happiness needs to rely on the fact that you have family, friends, or a good income, then there is a very thin line that holds it all together. If one falls away than it would mean that the distance to unhappiness will be very short.

I need to rely on the fact that itโs all within me. I can be proud for who I already am and master the qualities or personality traits I already have, instead of looking for those that donโt fit me.
All opportunities that comes my way will be an extra, which gives me more joy. But it wonโt bring me extra happiness, because happiness is all within me ๐
Hopefully my next destination will be Latin America ๐
Wouldn't exactly know which country yet, but there is plenty enough to see! ๐คฉ

Let's say in a timeframe of 1 year. I am sure with everyday exercise I must be able to! Becoming more flexible is one of the many goals I have. Right now I practise yoga every single morning for 30 minutes.
It is most likely to reach your goals when you make them as specific as possible and by mentioning when you want to see the results that you are aiming for.
What are your long-term goals? And more importantly: do you set goals within a timeframe? Let me know in the comments! Perhaps you will inspire me as well

I used to love love looove eating meat, and after watching a few documentaries and of course the climat change I reconsiderd my eating habits... And ever since that day, I never had any troubles with being a vegetarian. I got to know many more flavours and just veggies are so delish ๐
