Als ik een euro kreeg voor hoe vaak ik dit te horen heb gekregen. Hoewel dit natuurlijk bedoeld is als een lief compliment, dankjewel! Vind ik het zo jammer dat veel mensen dansen als een prestatie zijn gaan zien.
Dansen is een vorm van zelfexpressie die zo oud is als de mensheid zelf. Iedereen kan dansen en ik zou ook iedereen aanraden dat lekker te doen. Dansen is niet leeftijdsgebonden. En het leuke ervan is dat je zelf bepaald hoe jij danst. Er is geen goed of fout! In dans kun je eigen karakter uitdrukken. Ben je een vrolijk/humoristisch persoon, doe gekke dansjes. Ben je verlegen, dans op een schattige manier. Zolang het goed VOELT.

Natuurlijk kun je er een prestatie van maken door jezelf uit te dagen om aan wedstrijden te doen etc. Maar er zit zoveel ruimte tussen "ik kan niet dansen" en "ik dans op topniveau en win er prijzen mee".

Ontneem jezelf alsjeblieft niet dat plezier en blijf lekker dansen! In de club, samen met je kids, of vraag eens aan je opa of oma of ze met je willen stijldansen.

Nooit zeker van wat je broekmaat nou eigenlijk is? In twee stappen ben je er voor eens en voor altijd uit. Deze maattabel is gebaseerd op confectiematen. En confectiematen zijn de standaard maten die gebruikt worden door kleermakers. Ieder lichaam is uniek en het kan zijn dat jouw maat afwijkt van de confectiematen. Geen paniek, stuur mij een DM of zet dit in de notities van je bestelling. Aangezien ToscaB shorts door mijzelf genaaid worden, kan ik hier rekening mee houden!

Voor een broek zijn twee maten belangrijk: de heupwijdte en de taillewijdte.

Je taille is eigenlijk het smalste stuk van je bovenlichaam, net onder je ribben.
De heupwijdte is inclusief de bilpartij.

The clothes I make for Tosca Blue Shop are based on specific ideas, inspired by different theories. The Madonna-Whore complex is one of the theories. Originally it is a theory about the dysfunction of male sexuality. But rather than pointing fingers and hating on men, I'd like to focus on women and our collective experience of expressing our sexuality.

The problem with the Madonna-Whore complex is that no person falls completely into one category. Almost every human being is born with the need to express their sexuality. This can be done in thousands of different ways. Trying to divide women into two unrealistic boxes is irrational and short-sighted.

Trying to pigeonhole women by their dress style, is even more short-sighted. One woman feels sexy in a silk blouse. The other woman feels sexy in a long, wide dress. The amount of skin shown, has nothing to do with a woman's worth. Every woman deserves respect, no matter how she chooses to dress or how she expresses her sexuality. Being and feeling sexy is a very personal experience which should never be judged by anyone. Some women only feel comfortable by being sexy with one partner and cover up their bodies completely when going outside the house. They decided their beauty, sensuality & sexuality are exclusively for them and their partner. Keeping this as private as possible is a personal choice. Some women want to feel & dress sexy outside the house and dress like an ugly, smelly homeless person inside.
Other women like to feel sexy 24/7, be open about it with the whole world and make more money than you and me ever will.
Shaming women for expressing their sexuality is harmful. Prudeness is a form of shame & suppression of feelings that are part of being human. Women decide when, where and how often they want to feel sexy, not society or men.

F**k being prude. Wear and do whatever makes you feel sexy when you want to feel sexy (as long as it’s legal).

When it comes to creating stuff I’ve always been very straightforward and simple in my design solutions. Like a real Rotterdammert.
Dancing is a form of selfexpression to me and so is fashion. Good quality sport shorts seemed impossible to find. So I decided to combine my two passions and started making them myself. Exactly how I like it, no synthetic fabric (aka plastic) and the perfect fit.

One thing that really fascinates me is how multifaceted women can be.
When I speak for myself, I can put different sides of me into dancing. My goofy and enthusiastic side, by just dancing weird to release tension.
On the other hand, my lighthearted bubbly side. Most of the times while dancing, I allow myself to open my heart and feel vulnerable and feminine. To me, being flowing, soft and submissive feels so good and natural. To put these feeling in movement, while being in a safe space, makes me feel so much like me.

BUT, somewhere deep down inside, I have a naughty, passionate side. The fire in my soul. Which doesn’t feel like flowers and rainbows, but instead feels like an overwhelming power. The same confident and passionate feeling I feel while debating. The flame that drives me to influence the world around me and make an impact.
The energy which makes me stand up for myself and the energy I need to protect my body and my bubbly femininity.

Being able to feel soft AND raw gives me so much joy. Seeing other women allowing themselves to explore this polarity is so inspiring.
While moving your body, you are able to explore different parts of your being and every women deserves to allow themselves this discovering journey💕
