Just past the flamingo area Saliña di Jan Kok you see the sign 'Williwood', inspired by the Hollywood sign. This place feels cozy and cozy. Everyone is very friendly.
There is a restaurant where you can enjoy a snack and a drink with a nice view. The kabritu (goat) burger is a must!
The Queen Emma Bridge (Dutch: Koningin Emmabrug) is a pontoon bridge across St. Anna Bay in Curaçao. It connects the Punda and Otrobanda quarters of the capital city, Willemstad.
The bridge is hinged and opens regularly to enable the passage of oceangoing vessels. On the opposite end from the hinge is a small shelter where an operator controls two diesel engines turning propellers. The propellers are mounted perpendicular to the length of the bridge and allow it to swing parallel to the shore. The process only takes a few minutes to complete.
Fall in love with the historic neighborhood Punda. Streets that are full of life and colors; fantastic murals and colorful building all over the town. Punda is the location of the world famous Handelskade: the waterfront collection of multi-colored buildings that has become Curaçao’s most characteristic image.
Curaçao & Dushi Signs
The centrally located Wilhelminaplein is a cozy and green square located in the middle of the Punda district. The large and famous Curaçao and Dushi letters are located on this square. The word ‘Dushi’ has different meanings and you can use it for different things: a person can be called dushi, which means ‘sweetheart’ or ‘sweet’, food can be dushi, which means ‘tasty’ and life in Curacao is dushi, which means ‘live is sweet’. Dushi Curacao therefor means ‘Sweet Curacao’.
