Soon it is crit time again at Ronde van Kralingen. The Dutch crit series is back in Kralingen for the third time now. Expect a course with some technical cornering, uphill bits and a lot of gezelligheid!

Winter weather is here and so is cross! Upcoming Friday local bike friends are organizing a party and planned a nice cyclocross ride on Saturday. Put on all the layers you got and install some grippy fat tires and let's go!

This is such a great initiatieve: Rotterdam is collecting used bikes to upgrade and give to kids that don't have one. Check your cellar / backyard / garage and get your old bikes to this project.... May the kids all ride!!!

Our Katendrecht crit has been adopted by NL Crit Series and will take place for two days during upcoming weekend. On Friday (for some weird reason) and on Saturday. Registration is still possible through NL Crit Series: Katendrecht Crit.

Sadly the sunday marathon ride has been CANCELLED due to police interference. So NO marathon ride this year.

For two seasons we've worked together to build Vast Verzet Bokaal / Dutch Crit Cup. We both feel really proud that our Katendrecht crit and other races were part of bringing the crit movement to the Netherlands. Yet after last summer we decided to take it easy to be able to ride more ourselves. Organising so many contests felt more and more like work, and less like fun.
But the show must go on and this means the VVB will need more volunteers to help out the crew for upcoming season. Some races will be in the Rotterdam area, some in the Amsterdam area. Keen to help? Give the VVB crew a shout!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

The Vast Verzet Bokaal / Dutch Crit Cup series have grown amazingly over the last two years after our maiden race in April 2015. The growth and the success of our series would not have been achieved without our volunteers who donate their time and sweat to make everything run as smoothly as possible for the riders.

For this year we are looking for volunteers to join our crew team. We've got the following tasks available:

- Registration desk
- Bikecheck
- Timekeeping
- Course marshalls
- Race control assistant

Volunteers can choose the task of his/her preference and the races he/she is availabe. Our objective is to have a task occupied by the same person(s) as much as possible.

Remember what it's all about this season? Right, both the men's A and women's overall series winner will be rewarded with a custom built frame by RIH Sport Amsterdam

So, no 200k race this weekend :( But we are looking forward to two crits coming to the Rotterdam region: RONDE van Berkel fixed crit (near Rotterdam) and RONDE van Noord fixed crit (Vast Verzet Bokaal FINALE) Rotterdam. The last crits of the season for Vast Verzet Bokaal / Dutch Crit Cup!

And... there will be an after after for the Ronde van Noord. We'll keep you posted!

After the Wednesday Nightride 2016 of last wednesday we went to see De Pedaalridder documentary and got to do a mini race" to open the Pleinbioscoop which was a lot of fun. (btw Lois Zoë Dickhoff won the race! :D)

July 3: Ronde van Kralingen, Rotterdam. Perfect preparation for Red Hook Criterium London. We've got some strong contenders like Olivier Leroy, Eike Haumann, Stefan Vis, Bram Linnartz, ... And: for all foreigh competitors we can offer a free stay in The Student Hotel, right on the course!
August 7: Zwanenburg Crit, near Amsterdam. Same smooth course as our first race.
August 20: Spartaan Crit, Rijswijk, near The Hague. A smooth but pretty technical course.
Sept 10: Ronde van Berkel, near Rotterdam. Traditional street crit.
Sept 24: BIG FINAL, Ronde van Noord, Rotterdam, street crit, after party
