Hello lovely people,
My name is Sam Lubis. I am offering online yoga classes on Zoom: Bikram & Yin I am a travelling Bikram Yoga teacher.
I started teaching online yoga classes on Zoom when the first lockdown began in March 2020 during the COVID-19 outbreak. Seeing the panic and the chaos all over the world as the result of the COVID-19 pandemic, I took an initiative to offer free online yoga classes to help ease some of the burden that people were experiencing as a result of the pandemic. For one year since the first lockdown, I’ve
been teaching consistently at least 3 FREE online yoga classes per week. I love teaching and would love to continue to make these online classes available and accessible. To sustain the teaching, I am introducing some simple fees of €12 (EUR)/class/drop-in and €50/month for unlimited access to all scheduled classes. MY YOGA JOURNEY
After graduating from the University of South Wales, United Kingdom with a Bachelor Degree in Business Studies, I worked for a couple of years in Central London. It was there in 2010, I was introduced to Bikram Yoga. My first class was a matter of falling in love at first sight, I was hooked immediately. Practicing Bikram Yoga regularly is a pure blessing. I’ve lost weight, my belly flattened and I am back in a shape that I am happy with. Mentally, I feel more focused, I have more patience and more determination when faced with everyday challenges of life. I feel great every single day, inside and out. It’s the love for this yoga sequence that led me to join Bikram Yoga Teacher Training in Mexico 2018. I wanted to share the many benefits of this yoga with others. Since graduating, I’ve taught classes in studios in France, Spain, Belgium, Luxemburg, Switzerland, The Netherlands, The United Kingdom and my native country Indonesia. In 2021, I joined Yoga Sport Teacher Training from the International Yoga Sport Federation. Derived from the same lineage of Gosh Yoga, Yoga Sport or often called Intermediate Class is a more advanced practice from the Bikram Yoga Beginner's Class. I feel so honoured to be trained by some of the best International Coaches in the Yoga Asana World (Tereza Bonnet, Kim Tang, Kru Not, Erik and Hanna Pearson). Aside from Bikram and Yoga Sport, I also teach Yin Yoga classes regularly. I completed my Yin Yoga Teacher Training from José de Groet, Ekhart Yoga in 2020. Recently, I started teaching Inferno Hot Pilates too after taking Online Teacher Training from Gabriella Walter. Other Trainings:
2018, studied Traditional Thai Medicine at Wat Pho Thai Traditional Medicine School, Bangkok, Thailand.
2008, studied Anatomy and Physiology, Medical School of Complimentary Medicine, London, United Kingdom. REGULAR SCHEDULE (exact weekly schedule is posted every Monday):

THE YOGA
Bikram Yoga
Bikram Yoga (26&2) is one of the most widely practiced yoga in the world. This yoga series has been practiced for over 50 years. It is a very therapeutic healing yoga designed for everybody and every “BODY”. It has been proven to heal many ailments, body and mind. Bikram Yoga series consists of 26 yoga postures with 2 breathing exercises. Usually this sequence is practiced in a studio for 90 minutes, in a heated room of 40 degrees Celsius with 40% humidity. These conditions are made to mimic the weather conditions of a hot and humid tropical climate. As most of us have limited access to practice in a studio, I found that practicing from home is also very good. I have been practicing from home since lockdown begun. I have to say I truly enjoyed it, it gives me a different perspective compare to when practicing in a studio. Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga is a gentle soft yoga that mainly works on the lower part of the body such your hips & pelvis, deep fascia, lower spine & thighs. The postures is held between 2-5 minutes. Practicing this yoga allows you to gain a deep relaxation state. And when you practice regularly, yin yoga can reduce your stress and anxiety levels, improve your flexibility, improve blood circulation and can help aid the recovery from injuries. The sequence is usually different in each class. GENERAL GUIDANCE FOR ONLINE YOGA CLASS
To maximise your home practice below are some tips/guidance:
• We practice using Zoom, you can download the app here: https://zoom.us/
• Position your camera so that you can see most of the body, about 2 meters in front of you.
• Logon to Zoom 5-10 mins before class starts to get around any teething problems.
• During the class, I will mute the audio for everyone to avoid any unwanted noise.
• You may use a portable Bluetooth speaker to maximize the sound.
• Come to the class with an open mind and with no expectations, be patient and focus on yourself during the class. Additional recommendation for Bikram Yoga Class:
• Find a good space in your home, ideally minimum 6 ft. by 10 ft.
• Clear any sharp objects from the area.
• Full length mirror if you have one; place it securely at least 5 ft in front of you.
• A nice warm/hot room, you may switch space heaters on. If the room is not warm enough, wear a warm clothes that allow you to move freely. You could also consider a warm shower/bath before the yoga. I highly recommended a hot bath based on my personal experience.
• You need a yoga mat with a yoga towel on top.
• Don’t eat heavy meals less than 2 hours before class, hydrate well before and after class.
• Listen to your body during the practice, please just do the best you can. If you feel painful doing a posture, please take it easy on that particular posture; if you feel dizzy, sit down/relax, and start again when you feel ready.
• Yoga is all about trying, it is not about perfection - we are looking for progress. Therefore, in every practice, try the best you can and you will get the maximum benefits. Additional recommendation for Yin Yoga Class:
• Find a nice, quiet and warm space in your home, good enough to fit your yoga mat.
• Clear any sharp objects from the area.
• You might need props such as pillow, bolster, blanket and blocks.
• Listen to your body during the practice, please just do the best you can. PLEASE DON’T GO TOO FAST TOO DEEP. If you feel painful doing a posture, please stop that posture, adjust or try different variations that your body can do.
• If you like relaxing music while doing the yoga, you may play it in the background. HEALTH AND SAFETY:
• Health and safety is always paramount! As we are practicing online, it is your responsibility to ensure that the area you are practicing is safe for you.
• Listen to your body during the practice, please just do the best you can. If you feel painful doing a posture, please take it easy on that particular posture; if you feel dizzy, sit down/relax, and start again when you feel ready.
• In general, the yoga we practices are very safe, I will do my upmost care to guide everyone safely. However, please bear in mind by participating in this online yoga class, any risk that arise on yourself is entirely your own.
• I value the privacy of all of my students, recording any class by student are not allowed.
• Love and kindness are highly encouraged, please be kind to yourself and to everybody else.
