GARDEN DESIGN_ Longing for warm summer days, we remember our garden project at a detached villa in The Hague. For this project we have designed both the front and the back garden. Both include many custom made features for all the members of the family. In the more private back there is a (no)tree-house for the kids and a complete outside kitchen and a private spa corner for the parents. The front garden is designed as place to mingle with neighbours.

INTERIOR_ don't underestimate the entrance hall as it is the introduction to rest of the interior. The secret lies in designing it in a beautiful and practical way at the same time. We choose wooden slats, linear lighting and light gray color that run on the ground-floor-ceiling and then vertically throughout the whole house hiding the wardrobe and connecting all the floors. On the top floor the gray color spills onto the floor and the wooden slats stick into the roof.

INTERIOR_ open plans are not perfect for any circumstances. We chose to let the entire floor flow seamlessly into each other by using one color palette and the same anthracite cast floor throughout all the rooms. At the same time we added sliding and pivot doors to connect or separate different zones because flexibility is key to a well functioning layout. Position of each function and furniture has been carefully chosen to ensure that family stays together even though each family member is busy with other activities.

INTERIOR_ designing for kids is simply pure joy. For this project we have designed a bathroom, a play room and a shared bedroom for a girl & a boy. Two inhabitants in one space: her part in green, his part in blue. With more than just made-to-measure furniture. Each bed has integrated wardrobes, bookshelves, bedside lamps and extra mattresses for countless sleep-overs. Pop of colour on bathroom walls and on playroom ceiling gives those spaces childlike character. In the playroom we have done two creative walls and left all the space for kids to unleash their creativity.

TRANSFORMATION_multifunctional spaces are the key to functional layouts in small spaces. In this project the dormer and part of the top landing have been transformed into a bathroom and laundry room with lots of clever storage. Behind the wooden slats we have hidden shower, washing machine, dryer, washing powders and liquids, dirty laundry segregated by colour, dry laundry to be folded and more. All grey panelling hides even more storage as every cubic centimeter of the dormer has been given a destination.

INTERIOR_ this bathroom design for two teenage sisters has been inspired by the shades of sand after a receding wave. We chose delicate, subdued colors and various textures of natural materials to achieve a warm, peaceful and feminine yet modern vibe. All those secret cabinets in our favorite color combination: white matt lacquer with oiled oak have been perfectly executed by .

EXTENSION_ mixed steel&wood construction frame made it possible to add to this terraced house in Voorburg space and ridiculous amounts of light. We have equipped the extension with two key elements. First are two over five meter long roof lights providing beautiful dynamic light and shadow effects and the other is a triple two-way sliding door in a minimalist frame. Now the inside and outside flow seamlessly into one another. The roof has been engineered into the last detail and covered with green roof which does not only look beautiful but also provides perfect insulation.

TRANSFORMATION_ office building in the center of The Hague converted into a family home. The sunny patio at the back was inspired by the white villages of Andalusia. While we created southern European vibes on the outside, Tulin chose a darker color palette and gave the interior a wormy and cozy feel. Chocolate kitchen flooded with natural light results in harmonious combination of a luminous exterior with smoky interior.

EXTENSION_ we have added multiple extensions to this free standing bauhaus-style villa in The Hague. Our goal was to blend them in as if they have been there from the beginning. It was equally important to us that we add as much daylight and views to every single room as possible. End result are bright and spacious rooms with fantastic views in all 4 directions.

EXTENSION_ the old and the new in perfect balance. We have pushed back the back façade of the house to enlarge the living space on the ground floor. To keep the original character of the house the back door has been reused. To bring the energy balance of the property up to date we have equipped the house with solar panels on the roof, infra-red heating panels on the ceilings and reflective plaster on the walls.
