As one of the first bubble tea players on the market, 8tea5 came into existence exactly 10 years ago with our first small shop in The Netherlands in The Hague. Soon after, the Ling brothers expanded to Belgium. Our verdict after 10 years: 12 shops, 350.000 customers and 2.5 million bubble teas served. Very soon we will find a suitable way to celebrate this milestone at every 8tea5 store with a contest and prizes. Cities that are next on our list are: Rotterdam City Center (opening 17 September), Bruges and Anderlecht. We want to thank all our loyal customers for making this possible. 🥂8tea5 wishes everyone a happy and foremost healthy 2022! 2021 has been an eventful year in which we (despite the odds) were able to welcome 4 new shops in The Netherlands and Belgium.
😍For 2022 we will be welcoming at least one more shop in Belgium. We hope to see you all back again in 2022!

Our Story
8tea5 opened its doors on the 4th of August 2012 at Noordeinde 124h and moved to the newly Passage 77 between the Grote Marktstraat and Spui on the 18th of September 2014; a trendsetting place located in the heart of the Hague. With all excitement 8tea5 The Hague announced the opening of its second store on Valentines Day February 14th 2020. We serve authentic Taiwanese bubble tea.
Bubble tea is the newest trend coming over from Australia, USA and Great Britain and now has landed in mainland Europe. The name covers a wide variety of refreshing flavored fruit and milk teas, served with tapioca balls as a finishing topping. The tapioca are a starch-based product made out of cassava. Together with its chewy texture, being fat free, it combines perfectly well with the fruity and milky flavors of the bubble tea drink.
The 8tea5 concept is based on inspiration, fun and respect and we truly have translated these values into our products, store design and customer experience. The raw, but still colorful and simplistic design of our store creates an unique environment for our guests to enjoy bubble tea. The name 8tea5 is a homophone of the year '85 (1985), in which the founder and bubble tea were born. Having that in mind, the store setting and overall experience has a strong focus towards the 1980s. For this, we have been selected by different magazines and bloggers (Vogue, Marie Claire, VIVA) as a hotspot in the Netherlands. Come by and taste the inspiration!
