Ioana Iorgu
Ioana records as an independent music producer, a self-taught guitarist, and drummer. For live shows, she performs as a duo with Joris Boerma on drums.
At the age of 14, while living in Malaysia, she was greatly inspired by her English teacher whom she played in a band with, and introduced her to some of her formative records. Ioana released her first instrumental album Silent Scream with songs she composed in 2015 and after that produced another EP, the shoegaze saturated Fiction. Bio
Ioana is a self-taught guitarist and drummer. Trance evoking steady base is intermingling with ornamenting and circling voice of Ioana’s guitar. The dreamlike atmosphere gets spiced up with post-punk elements driven by distorted riffs, introspective lyrics and aggressive guitar shreddings.
With shoegaze and post-punk elements, Ioana's latest release 'Letters' combines distorted guitars, explosive drums and fragile vocals to express a lingering nostalgia.
