Very sad to report my grinder is broken. The top lid mechanism is damaged and it no longer grinds. I'll see if I can open it up at home.
10 yrs, almost, with the grinder were great though! Got it on Kickstarter and never looked back, albeit a little envious of the awesome click system of the Commandante now synonymous with brewers cups.
Running out of beans when you're near La Rochelle is never a bad thing. Hip on over to Ile de rรฉ and visit for local fresh roasted beans and enjoy great coffee again.
My 10 yr old grinder broke down, so they ground the beans for me in their EK43 โค๏ธ god I want one so badly because I can also use it to exercise my muscles and lift some weights ๐
When you're in distress because you have a level 4 coffee emergency ๐ฆบ (almost out of beans) and you head into town to try and salvage something to get by... But you hear over to and discover they carry beans from the incredible over at รกnd they even have a _natural_ Ethiopian bean in stock !!! ๐๐คค๐๐คช๐ฅณ๐
Can't believe my luck with the filter coffee subscription from โค๏ธ
The new batch has beans from Peru and Guatamala, two of my favorite coffee countries. I love the rich chocolate or nutty flavors they have here naturally!
Looking very much forward to making the "Santa Luisa" from Peru and the "Los Naranjales " from Guatamala โ๐คฉ
Almost finished with these two lovely coffees from โค๏ธ the Peruvian has a bit more bitters for me. But the Brasilian coffee is awesome. A crowd pleaser at my place.
Personal treat for myself: red Bourbon beans by โค๏ธ And Burundi ๐ง๐ฎ for a change to try out different countries as well
Got new stash from โค๏ธโ๐ฏ great new beans from Brasil (caramelo) and Colombia (villa betulia). Looking forward to trying these, I've been drinking lots of different coffees from various batches that I brought from vacation and local orders. So much coffee, so many flavors. Wonderful ๐๐
Now I will also try different papers. I noticed my V60 papers suddenly added 1 min to my brew time and forced me to open up the grinder and grind coarser to get decent Brew times. Then I learned from a video that the Dutch V60 paper manufacturer makes the paper differently and somehow that lengthens the brew. So I got V60 paper and Hario V60 from and see if there are differences ๐ค
Sometimes work brings unexpected perks...
One of my colleagues has relatives in Hawaii and last time they brought ground kona coffee from the supermarket. We loved the coffee but I said how much better fresh beans would be... Well, today we brewed fresh roasted fresh ground Kona coffee from Hawaii! So cool. Roasted on May 13th, so perfect for our office moccamaster โค๏ธโ
I love my job! With coffee it's even better!
Enjoying .co coffee beans from at the office ๐๐ฏ
Dryland Gin & Tonic all the way from Denver to the Netherlands! Sooo good. The pure junipers and the local botanicals are fantastic.
Paired it with plain Royal Club tonic, tangerine peel and orange blossom flowers with a dash of fresh group black pepper ๐ถ๏ธ๐
Thank you, Chris, for your passion, your knowledge and your advice. Love the gin and the prickly pear spirit โค๏ธ
Two weeks of coffee nerding with one of my best friends in the world in Colorado! Super fun. Adjusting for high altitude, lower boiling point of water, reverse osmosis water ๐ฆ and jetlag!

And Nimbus coffee roasters in Boulder, CO
We used the ODE gen 2 and the Clever dripper with both paper and metal foil filters.
Great coffee in Glenwood springs โจ๏ธโค๏ธ๐
Very happy to finally be able to try cold brew by and even straight from the grocery store (sprouts) ๐
We got it for the road trip ahead.
During our stay we will brew either the fantastic guava banana by or exceptional beans from
Road trip to the Rocky Mountains ๐๐
When making coffee in Colorado, your recipes should be adjusted for altitude. Water boiling point is significantly lower than in the Netherlands at sea level! Near Denver, water never gets hotter than 93C ๐ฒ That makes for smooth filter brews ๐
We've adjusted all recipes by 10% for altitude because your tongue cannot taste flavors as good at lower pressure. Sometimes a little more for the altitude, up to 15%
I'm dying to try the new filter beans from Congo by but I loved the anaerobic Catuai beans from Dota in Costa Rica soo much I bought two additional bags. And I can't stop brewing coffee with. They're just so satisfying and warm, a little funky from the fermentation, yet still just really good coffee.
I guess the Bourbon beans from South Kivu in Congo just have to wait until my stash is finished.
So happy with these wonderful beans from โค๏ธ the black cherry and bergamot (think: early grey tea) are spot on
And just to prove that this month's subscription from was totally awesome, I ordered a bit more of that same stuff. Because u can! โค๏ธ๐
Needed new stash for my subscription keeps running out early now that my wife is making her own brews a few times a week ๐ so did some shopping at
Look at these beauties ๐
Had a Fantastic time at this escape room! Thnx sister Angela ๐
Fantastic little coffee place tucked away in the centre of Vienna in a side street behind the Stephanskirche
Highly recommended!
Xmas is a time to reflect and ponder on what the year has brought us and plan for a new year to come...
So I changed my coffee brew bar a little, added an old wooden serving tray as the base and removed some accessories that I don't use often enough.

Little gems to get us through Christmas ๐๐
Can't wait to try them. โโโ
Yessss
Thank you Sinterklaas for the amazing nee ceramic latte (art) cups ๐๐ฏโ๐
Sinterklaas gave me a long awaited item from my wishlist: a brewler so that I can check the grind sizes of my Ode gen2 grinder and compare it to any other grinder โค๏ธ๐โ
Now if only I'll also get the new ceramic coffee cups from then I know that i was a really good _boy_ all year long ๐๐
Oh man so sad that this coffee is gone! This was a really good bag of beans ๐ซ๐
made an awesome coffee from the El Pedregal from El Salvador ๐คฉ๐๐
Warm, full bodied, nutty and caramel flavors. It smelled so good while grinding that my kids would come over and see what I was doing! ๐ฏ Gotta order some more before they're gone!
TEDx Amsterdam 2014 stadsschouwburg
This is the day that I first got introduced to specialty coffee. Not sure if it was this stand or another, but had a batch brew from Guatamala that smelled and tasted like raspberry and strawberry โค๏ธ
I was lost and wanted to know how that was chemically possible when I believed all these small hydrocarbons would surely be burned away during roasting.
The rest is history.
I've thoroughly enjoyed this great coffee from Costa Rica by โค๏ธ
The natural sweetness Shines through and you can taste the tropics. a fruity flavors keeps it real and doesn't overdo it.
Caramel finish and a marzipan after taste. I loved it . So sad ๐ข it's gone.
Recipe on Aeropress:
17gr coffee
150 ml at 92C
Pour all the water on
Stir 10-15 times
At 2:00 min, flip the Aeropress
Push the coffee out in approx 20 sec (my yield is always 25-28ml less what goes in)
Add 100ml of remaining water
To yield 250ml of filter coffee โ๐
But I look forward to the El Pedregal from El Salvador, which is next and available from the webshop. (Not all coffees I get with my subscription are already in their shop, found that out earlier)
