In the past 10 years, I've been told so often that to become a better writer, you have to read more.

But I've discovered that how much you read doesn't matter that much.

What matters far more is how you read. And there's not just one way to read.....

I used to think reading is just reading, yet that's just not the case..

X-ray reading is like reverse-engineering.
When you reverse-engineer your bike, for example, you disassemble it to understand how all parts fit together, and you try to put the bike together again.
