50 Zwart is an Amsterdam-based clothing company established by three brothers. It combines a “green” production process with unique design. Each of the founding brothers of 50 Zwart has contributed something of his own to the company. One is responsible for design due to his knack for creativity, and feeds his interest in Japanese culture by following Japan Studies. The other has a passion for qua
lity clothing, and the third follows Future Planet Studies, and thus provides the company with a greener perspective. In a time where the need for clean and sustainable energy is becoming more and more apparent, 50 Zwart recognizes the value of its “green” production process. For example, all clothing in the collection of 50 Zwart has the EarthPositive label, which indicates a production process in which only sustainable energy and 100% organic cotton has been used. EarthPositive also supports the code of conduct of the Fair Wear foundation, which ensures, among other things, that no child- or forced labor is being used in the EarthPositive factories.
50 Zwart works with local businesses for the further production of its clothing, to make sure no harm is done to the environment by excessive shipping. Our clothing distinguishes itself by its inspired and unique designs. Having spent their childhood in Japan, the founders of 50 Zwart have enjoyed the admiration for Japanese culture in their family. This admiration led to the first collection of 50 Zwart, which is based on free associations with Japanese art and culture.
